Hi, on Wednesday we had an exceptionally challenging day. We had breakfast but then the challenges began and we returned home at 8:30p.m. On days like this we resort to an old favourite… Baked beans on toast (granary) with an egg (fried) with a slice of grilled bacon… or two! How bad is this and how does it stand on the exhanges?
Hi, Claire. If you only had two meals, and it was a rare occurence, don’t worryabout it. You can optmimize this “old favourite” but using wholemeal bread and uncured bacon, and using portion sizes that match up with food exchanges that are allotted to you in your menu. You can see the latter by clicking on the “Exchange view” icon in the toolbar above your menu and identifying the food groups – bacon and egg are “proteins”, bread is “carbohydrate”, and baked beans are a combination of the two.
