Can I use cashew nut instead of walnut? and what can I substitute for goat cheese?
Hi, Keenlee. Cashew is not really keto-supportive, whereas walnut is. However, the amount in this recipe may not make a major difference.
What size for the ramekins dishes?
Hi, Melissa813. Pint-sized will do.
I do a 16/8 fasting protocol so I need to eat three meals and a snack in my 8 hour eating window, or can I just eat two me as late a day?
Hi, Srb22. We encourage at least 3 meals in a day – since the snack is generally a vegetable, you can include it in your lunch or dinner.
These recipes are too complex.. for a beginner I would expect someone to have easier recipes. Another thought, what about those that aren’t that great of cooks? I need something that doesn’t look like it’s coming from a restaurant. This would make me give up quick.
Hi, Ldporter. Some of our recipes are indeed simpler. You can use those instead of any on your menu, if you wish. Just be sure to right-size the portion so that the calories match those allotted to you.
I’m about to start this. I can’t stand asparagus and goat cheese. Can I substitute any breakfast listed under recipes?
Hi, SandyDominy1. Absolutely! You can also use a different green vegetable and type of cheese.
Can I replace the almond flour with regular flour?
Hi, Swanee. In the small amount needed here, yes. Generally that substitution would render the recipe no longer keto-supportive.
Hi, it says it serves two, so what is my portion? Just one?
Thanks
Hi, Esteele. Yes – one serving at a time. You can either split the recipe with someone, freeze the second portion, or just make half with the appropriate modifications: http://www.trimdownclub.com/reducing-the-size-of-recipes.
If you are using 6 ramekins the serving size would be 3 correct?
Hi, CuriouskatF. Yes, that is correct.
Hi ..I don’t like goat cheese what kind of cheese can I replace it with…
Hi, Marioly. Any cheese will do.
Can low- or non-fat cow’s milk be substituted for Almond milk in recipes?
Hi, Snikki. Dairy milk has a much higher carbohydrate content than almond milk, so it is often less appropriate for a keto plan. In very high-fat recipes (such as this one), however, you can get away with it. Though the higher the milkfat the better, it can still add more calories (almond milk is very low in calories).
I can’t make this recipe as I don’t have ramekins anymore and I HATE almond milk. I do love asparagus, eggs and goat cheese though. I hope I can get a replacement recipe without losing those foods that I love.
Hi, K9Nemesis. Click on any food you don’t want, and you will see a pop-up list of alternatives from which you can select a replacement.
