What is uncured ham? Is it available as a cold cut? Are regular packages of ham/chicken/turkey cold cuts allowed?
Can a banana replace a fruit serving?
Hi, mahipp. Uncured ham is ham that does not have artificial nitrites or nitrates in it. It is indeed available as a cold cut. Other cold cuts are “allowed,” but note that they are not encouraged because of the artificial additives.
With regard to banana, it can be a fruit exchange if it is very small (6 inches or less). If it is significantly bigger (something like 8 inches), then half a banana is a fruit exchange.
