Hoping to find others out there who find strength in the Lord while dieting.

I am weak, but he is strong. I really know how weak I am. I really have to find a way to give up the sugar. I love sugar (and chocolate). I know he answers prayer. So, I pray he helps us give up the foods/food substitues that are bad for the bodies he created.

    Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the LORD with all (not some) your heart and lean not on your own understanding and in all your ways He will direct you”
Everytime you are tempted just say “I trust you Jesus”

Love that verse Prov 3:5,6. Something that helped me get started was looking at Rom 12:1,2 differently…..I always looked at it from a spiritual point of view and the Lord spoke to me and said ‘renew your mind about exercising’…..I have hated exercise. Today I don’t mind doing the treadmill!

Grace, The Power to Change by James Richards is a book I totally recommend for believers. It has changed my perspective on God’s ability thru me. I am weak of my own strength, but He in me is so very strong. Just beginning this journey and really ready to succeed.

Anyone interested in becoming phone and email partners on this journey. I would love to connect with like minded believers who are working toward a common goal.

I just joined yesterday. We have just started our Weight Loss Challenge at church this morning with our weigh-ins. I am giving it ALL to God to do HIS work. I am weak but HE is STRONG.

Hi there, Friends in Faith! Is there room for one more in your group?
My name is Marlyn, I’m a believer, a retired teacher, and I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
I just started this program and really want to do my best to lose 15-20 pounds as well as regain some muscle strength. I don’t exercise as much as I should, but I do go to Deep-Water Aquafit at least once or twice a week as I find there is little impact on my joints and I get a good workout in the water.
With God’s help (and a little support and motivation from like-minded people) we can be healthier and more useful in the Kingdom, too.

I’m with you ladies! God is good and HE is able when we are weak! So we just have to look to Him for our determination and strength!

What a Blessing it is to have company on this journey! I am hoping to lose about 15 pounds before back surgery in March. The first 5 lbs were easy this past week. I really cooked up a storm with some of the new recipes. I get to have goat cheese soufflĂ© for a week now, it’s delicious! Tuna casserole, smoking rutabaga stew and beef and potato stew, and lentil and potato stew were all good and spread out over this week. I admit though that I need a break from cooking, so I might keep next week simple and have my hubby supplement his meals. I can only work out on my stationary bike but at least I am able to do that. Let’s do this! God’s peace sisters!

    Hi gals,
How are you all doing with your weight loss. I lost 4 pounds last week and gained a couple back this week. I’ve been pretty careful about my food intake and exercising, so I’m a bit dissappointed. Looking forward to a better weigh-in this week.
It would be nice to hear from you and share challenges and victories, too.

Hi I am Jill from Northern Ireland. It is good to meet some Christians on here. I need to get fit again after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and undergoing 20 months of treatment. I have put on about 30lbs and because my feet were so painful for a long time after treatment I just completely gave up on exercise. I am on Tamoxifen which causes a lot of pain and stiffness plus I have arthritis in my feet, back and neck. I feel like I have aged 20 years in only 3 years. I need to fight back now and get fit again, I am too young to feel so old. If we all pray for each other and support each other we can do this! I just need to start somewhere.
