Can we use butter on toast or breads?
Absolutely – 1 tsp is a recommended serving, and is generally adequate for a slice or two.
Since butter is so hard to spread, I just added 1/4 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to 1/2 pound of softened butter, whipped it with my hand mixer and voila! Spreadable butter that won’t harden in the fridge. I think I’ll use 1 tablespoon less oil next time though as it is a bit softer than it needs to be.
What a good idea. I must try that.
Forgot to ask – is that 1/4 cup an American cup size?
1/4 cup American-size is 60 ml.
