MemberJust started the program and the most challenging thing so far is creating the shopping list. I would have thought that “The trim down club” would have a shopping list tool tagged to the menu planner. Any suggestion on how to organize a shopping list, or if someone knows of an app. I would be very appreciative of the input.

MemberFirst, the TDC is working on a Shopping List App and it is suppose to be coming soon. Also, what I have been doing is print off the menu then scan the days of the menu for each new item and jot it down on the blank space of the paper menu and count how many times (amounts) you will be using it for the week. Then after going through the whole menu you’ve got all the items you need there and the amounts and can add them to your weekly shopping list (getting only what you need.) What do you think about that idea? Any easier ideas from anyone? KD

MemberI need a shopping list app as well, so far TDC seemed easy to use until reaching this point being brand new trying to fabricate a shopping list is a mountainous obstacle! Looks like a recipe by recipe, ingredient by ingredient per 6 meals a day for 7 days a week! Wow 42 recipes, you gotta be kidding me, right? Not to even mention figuring quantities…. can’t wait for the app TDC is working on!!! Suggestions absolutely welcome 🙂

MemberThanks for ringing in on this everyone, this would be a wonderful feature if The Trim Down Club could pull it off. So what I have done for my first week is choose as little variety as possible in the menu planner and at least start the program. It has only been 4 days and I am already feeling better.

MemberThat’s the idea; Choose single items for now (at least mostly) and maybe just make the soups (they’re good.) My shopping list takes about 15 min. as I go through the menu pages of my weekly plan. I go shopping Friday; I’ll punch in my selections for next week’s menu tonight; then tomorrow I’ll scan the menu for the items and amounts I need. That way I have my list the day prior to shopping. Try it. KD

MemberI am trying to encourage my husband by joining TDClub when he showed an interest. Two challenges: He has a very small repetoire of what he will eat, very reticent to try something different. Second, we work away from home for 2 months or more at a time. We try to eat in better restaurants, subway, or buy a few groceries to eat in the room. I am needing suggestions. Thanks

Memberbuy a loaf of SWG Raisin bread, Blackberry’s and a 2 lb block of sharp cheddar. 2 pieces of Raisen bread with I can’t believe it is not butter Spray, with cheese and one cup of berries and you are done with breakfast. It is really good with coffer or tea. very filling.
The bread will keep and the cheese you can cut into 32 pieces (1oz each)all you need is a very small cooler.
