I’m thinking that I want to start added protein shakes to my diet on the days that I do strength training. There are all sorts of shakes out there! What’s the best kind to buy?
definately do your research. Shakeology has a huge following. Also dosent cost more than a meal to replace.
Protein shakes are a good idea if you’re not getting enough protein otherwise, or as a small meal as part of your daily protein intake. It is a good idea to at least once assess your daily protein intake and make sure you need more, so you don’t stress your kidneys.
During strength training, about half a gram protein per pound body weight is plenty – most of us get more than that.
As for the type of shake, you can make your own with milk and fruit in a blender, and maybe add ground flax seed (if you’re very adventurous, wheat or barley grass powder). That way you keep it fresh, natural, and cheap!!
