After my workouts I like to have a 8 oz glass of water with 1 scoop of Whey protein, my question, is this ok, and should I included it into my Diet Journal?
Hi, 44bert. That particular product is more processed than we would recommend, and does not really provide enough nutrition for ‘recovery’ (lean-building) after workouts; it also contains an artificial sweetener that can work against your efforts here.
We prefer whole foods (a carbohydrate and a protein food) after workouts, but if you like shakes, try products that provide whole nutrition in addition to the protein. Here is a link to an example: http://gardenoflife.com/Products-for-Life/Foundational-Nutrition/RAW-Meal.aspx. Click on a flavor you like on the right side of the screen, and you’ll get an idea of the type of ingredients we suggest, and that still scoop-for-scoop, you are getting about the same protein and energy (calories).
Regarding the Diet Journal – yes. Everything you eat and drink should go in there, even water!
