MemberOssie – there have been a few posts about flour and I’ve come across raw organic purple corn flour from Peru. I tried it mixing in with the rice flour in the lemon muffin recipe – made 1/2 as recipe and 1/2 with purple corn flour and chillie. These were a hit with friends and the colour is great. I assume its OK for the diet?

MemberHi Arthurmae. Welcome to the trim down club. Hey. From the sounds of it you have done all you need to do to get you weekly menu. Did you push the finish button, and if you did.\\\ Scroll to the top of the page and click on the apps section. Then from there, click on the menu history. It will show you the most recent menu for the week. click on it and it will show you your menu. If there are some thing on the menu that you would like to change, click on the button next to it that looks like a refresh button and it will give you different options to choose from. I hope all this help you out. It you have any questions, just let us know and someone will try to help you out. We are all here for each other. Have a great day and Happy Healthy Eating.

MemberI joined TDC late yesterday. I am looking forward to starting this new life change. I lived a healthy, organic life in the Oklahoma country as a child, with a good variety of vegetables from an enormous garden and fruit from the orchard, wheat and peanuts from the fields, freshly slaughtered beef and poultry, healthy eggs, and raw milk, butter and cheese. When my parents were forced to moved our family to town, our eating habits changed. I had never before eaten food from a can or a box. I missed the farm and the country meals and I still do today. Over the years, I have developed a few health problems, kidney stones being the most painful to deal with. I started looking for healthy information online and happened upon a TDC video which led me here. This feels right and I believe I will get the help I need here to, once again, live a healthy life, loose weight and enjoy eating again.

MemberHello everyone…My name is Anna and I’m going grocery shopping this weekend and starting on April 1st. I have a trip to Puerto Rico coming up in May so I hope to lose about 15lbs. I currently weigh 160lb and hope to get back to 130lb. I have never been this heavy. I got married late last year and practically staved myself to fit into my beautiful dress…but once we came back from our honeymoon I ate everything in site!. I want a fresh healthy start since we’re trying to have a baby soon and I don’t want to and more weight than what I already did. Hope all the newbies can help support each other. we already took the first step! Good luck and God Bless!

MemberHi all! Welcome newcomers! I usually see this post come into my email which is great because I always have my smartphone with me and this group really keeps me motivated. But I suddenly realized that I haven’t gotten a “2013 Newbies” email in a few days and figured I’d better make sure the group is still going. 🙂
Well, the job layoffs started today, so we’re all nervously waiting to see if we get that call to visit the HR office. I had lost 5 pounds but gained about 4 of them back in the last week. I haven’t been on the treadmill this week either…naturally the anxiety is keeping me awake nights and I haven’t had the morning get go. I know exercise is supposed to help with stress, but I just can’t get myself there. I did get the swg english muffins and with some organic cream cheese that’s been my stress eating….better than chocolate chip cookies, otherwise I’d be more than 4 lbs up by now!!! :-). Anyway, I do have a unique skill set that no one else in the organization had, was originally hired for that purpose (it was a brand new position I had stepped into), and I just keep hoping the powers-that-be still think they need that role!
Anyways enough of the sad stuff…after an unprecedented warm spell we have no more snow! We still get a small bit but it melts right away. I shouldn’t get too excited…we’ve had Sheila’s Brush as late as April before, but I don’t care…I expect to see the crocuses popping through the ground any time now! Good thing too because it’s been over 6 weeks and my snowblower still isn’t fixed!
With Easter weekend a few days away I’m trying to keep our big turkey dinner reasonably healthier. My family is picky so I can’t change the stuffing…my plan is to have mostly vegetables, minimal stuffing and minimal gravy. Good Friday is traditionally fish at our house, but for me its pasta because I hate fish. So I found some whole grain pasta shells, and I’ll make an Alfredo sauce with some organic cream cheese and skim milk…probably still not the best but I’m sure it’s better than the store-bought stuff I used to use.
Must toddle off…happy holiday weekend!

Memberppeddle….I can imagine what must be going through your mind. I really hope for the best for you. I’m still heading off to the treadmill every morning as soon as I get up. I’ll forever be grateful for that hint. Keep us informed.

MemberHi everyone, hope you are all ok.
PPEEDLE, praying everything goes ok for you, keep us all informed how you get on. I hope you find the motivation to get back on the treadmill and stick to the healthy eating, so those ever few pounds melt away.
NANCY, the home made bread sounds yummy but have you tried getting your family to try baking with different flour that trim down recommend.
BEV, oh I do hope your new nasal mask makes a different, can’t imagine how tough it must be to lose your bounce and I bet Bill would prefer to have cheery Bev about the house. Fingers crossed you also find energy to get some walks with the camera in over the weekend.
ANNA, SHARON & LUCKYLADYKY, excellent news about the weight lose, hope that keeps up for you all.
APENSA, I was a little annoyed again with the last email from Trim Down, regarding the water retention. I should now by now not to spend so much time reading it all but I got pulled into reading it because I suffer from this type of pain, but as I kept reading I just knew it wasn’t an email giving information about how to prevent it but an email that started by encouraging you to stop medication tablets only to be replaced by YIP other tablets!!!! oh I was annoyed with myself for spending the time reading it as I genuinely believed it was giving me some information to help me, ah well, maybe this time I’ll learn.
EBENNER, hope your enjoy eating so much food and losing weight, it is very surprising at first.
LYNNM, glad your trimmer, I’m on a plateau just now so hopefully that will change soon.
ANNA- 1982virgo, good luck with your healthy eating plan and hope your plans on starting a family come about soon.
Well folks, I am still trying to limit my time on-line with the headaches but at least I have specialist appointments now for these and my ankles which seem to cause me tons of pain in the evening, especially if I’ve walked in the morning. However with the Easter holidays my little one is home so at least I get a break from the walking, even if my flat does turn into a playground for angelina and her mates. Today, I had 2 of her mates in the morning, 1 for lunch and then off to the park with tons of mates in the afternoon, I started a queue at the swings with the kids, which I had to push, but it was fun because we done counting in both English and Italian while the kids took turns. I’m looking forward to Easter Sunday at church, then onto family lunch and relaxing day with them all. I do hope everyone that celebrates Easter has a blessed Easter weekend and a wonderful weekend to everyone else. Take care, happy healthy eating all x

MemberJackiee…..yep, the people that write those really know what they are doing. They can really sucker you into continuing to read. Bottom line, unless it is a link to a discussion topic like “Newbeies”, I delete them right away. Trim Down is a business and they are there for one reason only………..make money. Yes, they are offering a valuable service but, “For a price, Senor; always for a price.” That is a quote from a John Wayne movie.
By the way, that Ezekiel bread is really a dry, course gag in your mouth bread. We were out on our boat today and I threw some crumbs to some ducks……they came up to it and flew away. I prefer the Alpine Valley whole grain bread that Ossie gave her blessings to.

Memberlol Apensa, teasing those poor ducks, their probably hocked on white bread anyway. Cheers for the tip, think I’ll do the same now with the emails and just check the site for topics of interest. Save myself getting annoyed.

MemberRE: SPRING HOLIDAY RECIPES – found this under articles, like the sound of a few there. Ossie, I’m sure this has been asked a thousand time, is spelt syrup ok to use in recipes (i.e. fresh nut & berry pie) I have seen this in the health store, as they don’t have stevia syrup?

MemberHi everyone,It’s going to rain here on Sunday. We will have a good Easter meal.Part of the family is out of town so we will not have as many around the table.
Jackiee,it is good to hear from you.I do not get into how to cook with my girls. They are great cooks.Robin loves to make breads and makes many kinds.I usually eat a little if I feel it is to rich.It is usually made with King Arthur flour.Sometimes whole wheat sometimes not.Hey I have lost 10 pounds now .I am eating whole food and leaving the boxed stuff alone.Am also using the menus amount suggestions.Have been doing more outside ,that helps too.
I’m learning how to eat for the long run. This program has helped me get going.
