MemberI have just signed up and am quite confused. Listening to the video to get me signed up mentions bad benefits from soy except fermented . However in the recipes it recommends soy and soy milk.
I cannot seem to find any lists of foods. I am a vegetarian and that also means I don’t eat fish or chicken. I am struggling to find a list of the foods . All you have is only a few recipes under that title.
Please can someone help? Thank you KarenApril 5, 2013 at 1:00 pm #10679Kyller
MemberI’ve met my goal weight! Thank you, Trim Down Club 😀 It’s been some work to eat well, but the benefits are enormous. Pounds shed, I feel great, even some joint stiffness gone. The Trim Down Club is awesome!
Now that I’m where I thought I wanted to be, I’ve got 2 questions. The first is about skin tone and the second is about maintenance. Skin tone-I’m seeing either loose skin or a bit more fat that’s got to go-or both. Are there any foods to help skin elasticity? Should I take off a few more pounds? Maintenance-to maintain the new me for the rest of my life, do I just add a bit of calories of the same type foods? Thank you again for your site and teachings of not just weight loss, but healthy weight loss with good nutrition.April 5, 2013 at 2:03 pm #10681lensimek
MemberHi, I joined a couple of days ago, but haven’t started yet. I’m reading every thing and playing with the menu planner. Started the Atkins diet again on Monday and have lost 5 lbs so far. I was very successful on that diet about 20 years ago, but than messed up – you know the story. Since then I went back to Atkins several times. I would lose 8 or 9 lbs and than my weight seemed to fluctuate. I figure to lose that 8 or 9 lbs again and than go on this one. I hope that gives me a head start.
I have already started searching for some of these suggested foods. Where does one find whole rice bread, rice or rye crackers,
swg tortillas and wraps? Do I need to go to a health food store?Re cereals. I looked at some mueslis and rice Kispies and many oat cereals and they all seem to have some sugar in them. The instructions say to watch out for the sugar content, but they don’t say how much sugar is considered too much sugar.
Is this really the caveman diet? Eat low fat meat cuts. Eat fruits and vegies in there raw state if possible but definitely nothing creamed or gravied and NO SALT on any thing. If so, I will have to find some clay around here I can gorge on when I feel the need.

MemberKAT: Maintenance for a few weeks would be great. Just start exchanging others foods you want to eat back into your diet, slowly, and I know we’re not supposed to weigh ourselves every day but it helps me to watch what I eat. Also, Collagen helps loose skin. Jello (sugar free of course) is good. I don’t know for sure but there might be Collagen pills. Check with your pharmacist. Just a couple of suggestions. Congrats of reaching your goal. Now is the challenge to keep it off. Have a great day!

MemberKAT, congratulations!! that’s good news to boost us all 🙂 There is a way to continue using the menu planner. If you look at your profile page (click on the link of your name in the top right orange bar, your profile page comes up. On that page you can change your status from loosing weight to maintenance. I am not sure if it works, but I have tried it out and it does seem to change the amount of food allowed, but not the choices. Would be great if OSSIE could come in on this answer too.

MemberOh, and another thing, I take a tsp. of granular gelatin (bulk food store, or the baking section of the regular grocery store) in any hot drink or soup, sometimes twice a day. That should help with skin tone too, I think. It certainly helps with joints and nails and hair.

MemberThank you, Chia & Lynn! I tried the maintenance button and it worked 🙂 I also intend to try the gelatin/collagen. Thanks for the tip!

MemberHi, lensimak. Welcome. Yes, many of the items are found in health-oriented shops, including large chains such as Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe’s, as well as online.
With regard to sugar, the recommendation is to avoid ADDED sugar – the place to look is in the ingredients more than the Nutrition Information section where “Sugars” are listed under “Carbohydrates”.
This is not really the caveman diet, but there are some definite similarities, as you notices. A key difference is that whole grains are indeed encouraged, and you can definitely add salt “to taste” (it will almost always be less than what is found in processed food).
If the changes in this program seem too big, make them gradually, even one at a time if you have to. The goal is for you to find a plan that you like and that will suit you long-term.April 6, 2013 at 8:59 pm #10699Ossie-Sharon
MemberCongratulations, Kat! You’re an inspiration. Do be sure to reenter your profile and update your goal to maintenance. Your menu pattern will change slightly, mostly to be slightly more liberal (as you put it, “just add a bit of calories of the same type foods”). Be well! 🙂

MemberHi, Keren (Tomjerry 8), and welcome! After completing your profile, The best place to start is with the program overview or Quick Start Guide, followed by online guides (all in My Downloads above). After going through the overview or Quick Start, try the Menu Planner application. It is easiest if you start gradually, first choosing foods that are already in your kitchen, but trying a few new foods that may be healthier upgrades of those that you already like; same with recipes – only a few at first. Start to follow your menu, get used to how your pattern looks, how easy or difficult it is to follow, and how you feel as you follow it; note what you might change next time around. Gradually try more and more new foods, and get used to healthier ways of cooking. Along the way, gradually add exercise to your day – start with 10 minutes and work your way up.
If you have any other questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to post here 🙂April 7, 2013 at 1:20 pm #10717Foxx
MemberWoke up this morning after a strange night of multiple dreams that I actually remembered (I seldom remember dreaming). I walked into our Big Room and weighed. I had dropped 2 pounds overnight. Along with TDC, I started taking garcinia cambogia. I have lost 4 pounds since I started with TDC 2 weeks ago and I am feeling so much better than before. Eating the natural foods has made much difference and I have found, after doing some taste testing, that some of the processed foods I used to eat no longer taste good to me. I plan to continue with the garcinia cambogia. I am convinced that it does, indeed, work as so many have claimed. I started 2 weeks ago at 182. I am now at 178. My goal is to drop 64 pounds.

MemberI don’t know where to start. I am too sick to prepare food with all my maladies. Don’t know how to cook and don’t like it anyway, although I have to make my husband’s food-he doesn’t care how sick or tired I am and he won’t change what he eats. I am depressed, discouraged and ready to give up the same day I accessed the site. It doesn’t even calculate your BMI and there is nobody to help. It sounded like a nutritionist was going to help you. I am not sure what to do. I think I must be obese. I never eat the 5 foods you’re not supposed to eat, yet I am so fat I am really uncomfortable, with a huge belly and back, hip and knee issues. Argh! Guess there is no hope for me. At 62 I just wanted to feel good once before I die, so I thought weight loss and better health would do it. It is out of my reach, I guess.

MemberFoxx, glad garcinia cambogia helps you. I tried it for 2 months and I am 10 pounds heavier.
