Hey, don’t make yourself miserable Olive. Try some less damaging food at night if you have to nibble. How about cucumber sticks or celery or even some goat cheese on SWG bread. A small handful of almonds stretched out while watching TV or whatever you do at night. Maybe a salad with Olive Oil and vinegar…..just try to stay away from the sweets, Ice cream….high cal stuff.

Am I ok with this advice, Ossie?

Crikey Olive…don’t give in to self-pity!!! That is the enemy!!! We have been backing eachother up on here since the beginning of the year….and we are trying to back you up as well! We are right behind you! Apensa is right….try some free foods….that is what I have to do it too. I hate them….I would rather sit down and munch on a packet of Sour Cream and Chives potato chips, but I need to get the weight off my joints! It is killing me, and I will be in an early grave and miss out on too much if I don’t get it off. Let these people help you love. It is so easy to give in to hopelessness….doing this is very tough! But it will only work if YOU keep up your part and I keep it up my part, and part of that is pushing eachother….c’mon mate….join me and the rest in this battle.
    Love Bev.

JACKIE…what a pickle you got yourself into! Good on you for turning into a positive for yourself! As I read your account, I had a comedy running through my mind…hahaha…it reminds me of something from one of the Pommie comedies we have seen…but you are in it!!! Lol…..hahahhah…
Bill and I have just finished painting the bedroom and now waiting for the door to dry so we can do another coat on that. Moving our bedroom furniture into the newly painted room, and as our room is larger and we can fit a single in with the queen, we are using that for the guest room. Then I am going to start on the trims…a bit of filling to do as the dry weather has caused cracks over the years! I will just go around the house at my pace, then we can start on another room. I have pulled the spare queen bed apart, and am going to sand it next, and paint it white. So big day today…the kids and Rani are going to stay the night, so the mattresses will be on the floor for them all! I feel like I am getting somewhere again!!!
Sleeping much better now Jackie…starting to pick up! Just hoping I don’t come down with anything this winter…it will knock me for a sixer!!!
    Gotta go…work is calling me…BEV! BEV! C’Mon!!!!! Hehehe….Cheers.

Ohhhhhh, Seaborn…..what a temptress you are…….Sour Chream and chive potato chips…..Yummmm!!! You know, there was a cook back when I was in the army. He made a super cottege cheese salad just using cottage cheese, onions and coursly ground black pepper. I’ll bet if you choose the right cottege cheese, this would make a terrific snack…………..IF, you like onions. Now I’m made myself hungry……good, it is dinner time.

Just started on Monday and used the menu planner, I’ve followed the menus to the T; weighed this am and I’ve lost 3 lbs. This is amazing, I can’t believe that I’m actually eating more food than I ever have and I’m losing. What’s more, I’ve had a cough ever since I had pneumonia in Dec and 2 days on this I’ve stopped coughing. This is GREAT. I’m thinking that there must have been something I was consuming that I was reacting to and I’ve eliminated it by following this plan. I find it really easy and I feel so much better. So glad I accidentally found this site.

Hi, Apensa and Olive – absolutely! Make the plan work for you, and enjoy.

Hi Everyone, how you all eating? healthy I hope, as she says, giving into a late night snack 🙁 but only 5 almond nuts – I know it bad because its nearly midnight but I’m watching a program I love……need to be extra good tomorrow now!!!
OLIVEOYL, aww don’t give up, Bev, Apensa and Ossie are giving great advise. Remember, one day at a time, there an article on here called ‘Are you an emotional eater’ under the articles menu, you might need to go back 5 or 6 pages because it was back in January, but please look it up, it helped me and they have just added another one called ‘5 tips to help you quit snacking’, it your choice, please don’t let negative thinking and cravings overcome your goal to get back that healthy lifestyle.
Great to hear your getting the decorating done BEV, great exercise while getting another to do job off the list, it even better news that your sleeping better, bet and fingers crossed with all this healthy eating your enjoy your healthiest winter yet (it strange typing that when we’re having loving spring weather with summer chapping at the door).
Glad your keeping the chat cheery APENSA and giving great advice.
Great news CAROLYNBMT, glad your on board and losing already.

Well I am getting back on track after L hip replacement 3/19. I was doing well with TDC menus. And yes it seems like too much food but as many of us know the weight goes DOWN. I never did get any Passover food suggestions. Maybe next year, 5774? It is so supportive to be able to share and hear from everyone. I just had trouble trying to print out a recipe. Has happened before, anyone else?

Morning all….hope you are all cruising okay!

Terrible news this morning about the Boston Marathon. I hope no one on here had relatives involved in it.

APENSA…I am going to try that recipe you gave me about the cottage cheese! I reckon Bill will like it too…being ex-army!!! Lol. BTW, you weren’t in Vietnam were you?

MARCIA…good to see you back on deck. Hope all goes well.

JACKIE..yes winter is just around the corner here…starting to cool down! I know people will be saying “it’s cold….brrrr” but it is not really here, just feels that way because we are always so hot!!! It is so nice to have a nice new fresh bedroom to sleep in! But I haven’t got time to relax so I am told…got to get into the other one! Hehe…I don’t mind. Need it ready for my guests when they come. Mostly the kids, but there are others waiting in line! Lol.

Well, I am off to have a new hairdo!!! Haha…not much she can do to it, excpet cut it a little shorter here and there…but I might get some more silver just for fun!!! Lol. Not a lot of fun you can have with my hair these days!!! I could always wear some flowers in it again!!! hahah…..

On a more serious note, OLIVEOYL, if you are reading these…just saying hello, and hope you are doing okay today. Would love to hear from you girl.

LYNN M…I watched your little video this morning…you did very well!
All the best to the newbies, and the in-betweeners, and the oldies! See you on deck later…Bev.

Just wrote a response and it vanished into the ether! I’ll try again…

Thanks, Bev, it was easy to do, just wrote what I really think of the program. I hit 16 lb. off this week, very happy about that 🙂

Super to see everyone’s comments, I read them all, we are a great group!

    Hey everyone,
Great to see all the wonderful comments. I`m new to this, just started at supper yesterday and love the menu choices. One question though, do you have to follow the menu for the day to a T, or can you use one lunch from one day and a supper from another day and snacks from all the days Can`t seem to find some ingredients that I need for a whole days meal plan.
    thanks

Ossie ..I was wondering what the benefits of coconut milk and almond milk are compared to organic skim milk. Also, I have found that I don’t care for the Almond (vanilla) Milk, as much as I do the Coconut (sweetened) Milk. Is one better than the other? And should I be drinking and using the unsweetened Coconut Milk instead of the sweetened? I was a real milk drinker, I love milk, I have always used skim milk, but the organic is really good too. I know there are quite a few carbs in milk, so I have found that I like the Coconut Milk well enough to replace most of the skim milk that I use. Let me know what you think, thanks.

Bev & Jackie, I love to read your messages…I love the way the English and Aussie’s talk, for instance, “love”, “crikey” “pinched” and the new one that Jackie introduced on her latest entry, “chapping at the door”! You’re cute phrases brighten my day.

I’m through with school now until next fall…now I have more time to think about food! YIKES! I have got to replace school with something that is going to get me out of the house. I wish I had more will-power, but I’m one who has to just keep busy and out of the kitchen. I have made my menu a little bit easier, so I’m not preparing so many recipes, however, I have loved most of the ones I’ve prepared. I’m still up a pound from vacation and family visiting, but I’m adding the step-glide machine to my routine at the gym and it really got me sweating yesterday, so I think that’s a good thing! lol I really am hoping by changing my exercise routine and beefing it up a bit, it will help me get out of this plateau that I never seem to break.

I hope everyone is having a great day. Remember the victims of the Boston Marathon and their families. What a sad day it is in their lives today. Keep them in your prayers.

Good morning all. I am so sorry for those people in Boston who have suffered physically and mentally as well. It is a frightening time and somehow makes my “problems” seem insignificant

I am new to this group and enjoy reading your posts. I started this program 13 days ago @ 178 and went down to 175 after 3 days and from then on I am at 176, a 2 pound loss so far. I am an all or nothing gal when it comes to everything I do.

I weigh and measure everything that I eat. I shop at a store here in AZ Sprouts. Most of the food there is good for this program. They have great produce at reasonable prices.

I have not strayed from the plan and need some encouragement when I see these MAJOR losses from others. I do walk my dog three times a day and do PT excurses now that my hip pain has been reduced.

Perhaps those great losses per week have more to loss than I do. Also I have been eating very healthy but not good portion sizes. That is one thing I have learned, portion sizes.

So…….how about some feedback from you all.

inastrvl…Don’t get discouraged! I was on the program faithfully for seven weeks, and lost only seven pounds. Then I went on a 10 day vacation and came home to company for another six days, and was not able to be as diligent and put two pounds on, have taken one of those off, so I’m still behind. I sometimes get discouraged with other’s reports of much faster weight loss, but then I realize that I have a very slow metabolism and the weight just does not come off easily for me. I have been so surprised at being able to eat so much though and lose weight! Ii am also diabetic (II), and my meds have slowed down my weight loss and even caused weight gain! But now my blood sugars are so good, I am never hungry, I sleep better, etc. All of these other benefits help me to be patient with the weight loss end of it. I am getting some compliments, however, so maybe even though it is not showing on the scales, it might be showing in my appearance.
Also Ossie just suggested that we extend or change our workout routines to end the plateau we may be experiencing. I have always been an avid exerciser (although hip replacements) have slowed me down) so now when I go to the gym I’m mixing up my routine to see if that will help.
The way I look at it is that the weight did not come on all at once, and slow progress is still progress! Hope that helps. Keep up the good work. If you’re eating healthy and watching portion size, you willl succeed! Good Luck!
