MemberHi Folks,
sorry I haven’t been around for so long but I have been following this thread on and off. I can’t believe how much its grown! I’ve been watching the food I eat and following the tips posted here and I’m losing my belly fat! I’m looking almost trim these days lol. Its great to hear how you are all doing, too many of you now to congratulate personally so a big well done to everyone and continue the good work xxxI’ve been very busy after having moved. I’ve been promoting my photography and now have my work in 4 outlets in town. I’ve sold one photo so far, well everyone’s got to start somewhere! If you want to have a look at my work I’m easily found on google, Dawn OConnor.
I’ll try and pop in again soon as things are settling down a bit now, my best wishes to you all xxx

MemberHi, Dawn….new picture fooled me. Looks like things really looking up for you and I can imagine how hard you work. I got my first Miranda DR 1.9 back in 1965….you probably never even heard of the company let alone the camera…..focal plane shutter and 35mm film with a semi automatic stop down lens. Anyway, took a look at your gallery…………really nice work! Rough business to be in nowadays with digital and photo shop. Subject matter and composition is the name of the game nowadays.
Sorry, folks, it has nothing to do with food but don’t get me started on photography.

ParticipantAspenca. I agree with you regarding the Ezekiel SWG bread being really dry. So I switched to the Ezekiel Raisin Bread and now I am hooked on it. It is dry, but much tastier. It is also very expensive. I usually have it for breakfast with an omelet and hot chocolate.

MemberThanks, Judie, for the idea. If you ever see it, give Aspen Valley 21 Whole Grain bread a try. I got it a COSTCO. Ossie gave it an OK and it is really tasty and not dry at all….at least that is what I have found.

MemberHi everyone – I’ve been sick with horrible chest infection for a few weeks but have checked up on posts. I’ve put a bit of weight back on – think it was more to do with lying in bed than poor eating but I did have a bit of comfort food as well. I’m slowly getting over it but feeling pretty exhausted – any ideas on how to pep myself up?

MemberSharon….I have a couple of ideas for you. Take a drive up to the mountains if near you, come over and help me do some woodworking….always works for me or watch a good John Wayne movie. Of course I’m being facecious…….they call me Merky Dismal. You’ll get back to it…good luck.

MemberHi All, or should I say Ciao tutti….come va?
CHAI, like the sound of your roast veg soup, I tend to just throw whatever I have at hand in the soup pot which give me various different soups and roasted veg is something I regularly throw in when left over from a roast day although never tried adding garlic and mushroom so will give it a try next time I make soup, however we’re into our warm spring so tomato on toast and salads are becoming my favourite just now so could be a while till I make soup again.
KATIE, must say ‘Crikey’ isn’t a bad word for me, it is used in substitute to swearing, I remember my dad using it all the time for example, ‘Crikey, I left the house keys at work’ etc. I still use it on occasion. Also praying your are ok in the aftermath of the Boston bombing, things like that can shake us up especially when you’ve have experience life change events that leave families traumatised. It good news that you have impressed the Dr with your ‘numbers’, keep up the great work. Sei molto brava…a new saying my wee one is using when we get one of her question right!!!
APENSA, lol, glad you manage to finish the SWG bread, after your post I do believe if I ever find it here I will give it a miss, but the big question is would you buy another SWG loaf to see what it’s like toasted like suggest? I’m still enjoying my ‘Cento Anni Panini’ very nice 100% whole grain rolls, lovely with tuna and tomatoes although I do miss the prascutto crudo on my rolls. Well done on keeping everyone motivated, hope your still enjoying your morning walks.
JCDKEMP….PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP, give Ossie your stats as recommended in her post, maybe you just need to cut out or down on your evening carbs, to even out personnal plan, please don’t give up after a few weeks, I’m sure your feel the benefits of this plan soon, like we all have one way or another, this is all about a healthier eating lifestyle not starving yourself to lose weigh type of diet, because I can safely say that type of dieting just leads to gain weight after you stop the diet.
TANDY, good luck on your personal plan, let us know how your getting on and if your need info just get posting so many people on here to help.
INASTRVL, how you getting on?
DAWNROSIE, great to see you on again, and to get an update, so good to hear things are going well after the move, glad that stress is over and that your trimmer. Love your art work, got to ask did the last girl in the Macmillian album laugh because she didn’t have to wear a green wig or because everyone else did?
SLIMASHARON, good to hear your on the mend and to see you on here again, all I can think is use 1\2 banana for your fruit portion in the morning to bust your energy and oranges or kiwi for your afternoon fruit to get more vitaim c, oh and take it easy, build up one day at at time, don’t start running about doing everything at full speed, that will come soon enough. Good luck
RADISSON, are your still sunshine walking in Florida or back on the treadmill at home? not sure if the month has passed but it sure feel like a long time since you’ve been on.
BEV, how are you getting on, hope the decorating is finished and you had the boys this weekend,as I know you enjoy your time with them. Well all the visitors are gone, and although it was wonderful to see family and hubbys family it’s not been so good on the waistline, so think the plan for a much slimmer me for the summer is ‘out the window’ so to speak but I’m back eating sensible and to the plan again today so hopefully will get the few kilos gain back down again, good thing about italy is most the food here is good for you, bad thing about italy is they make the food so delicious you always want more. So portion size is a big note on the agenda now. Sad to say my dog walking days are over, as she found a new home (which is good, and even better that the couple in the bottom floor appartment in my block took her so I get to see her) although the new owners did say I could still wlak her, I have found after asking a few time I have been told the dogs just been out or just going with them so I have to take a step back and remember it was only temporary until the poor dog found a loving home so my part done, So its back to skipping in the garage, or walking in the morning and with the nicer weather I can get the bike back out (that tomorrows plan). Well sorry it been such a long post but don’t get time to get on much now (helps keep headaches at bay) but I do read all your post so by the time I do get on, I have loads to say!!!! as always 🙂 ciao tutti, until the next timeApril 29, 2013 at 12:45 am #11320ppeddle
MemberHey all,
Been a couple of weeks now for me since posting. All seems good…snow is gone, I have the patio furniture put out (not really warm enough yet though to sit out there, but I’m ready to…LOL). I’m dying to wash my RAV but still to cool for the water…maybe next weekend. And BBQing steadily…finally can fire up the grill without having to shovel the snow off it first. 🙂 Yay spring!!!APENSA, I was picking up groceries this morning and you were right in my head. I have two options for SWG bread…Ezekiel and Silver Hills (they’re in British Columbia – which is why I get that choice and not the Alpine Valley you mentioned). I have been buying the Silver Hills with sunflower seed…absolutely delicious, I have a ham sandwich every work day out of it. I’ve tried the Ezekiel, and like you, not that impressed. So today, I went to pick up a loaf, and the only Silver Hills bread had raisins…BLECH!!!!! (I despise raisins.) So, I looked at my Ezekiel options, and you were in my head saying the ducks didn’t even want it… lol. Anyway, in desperation, I dug around in and found one Silver Hills Big 16 loaf (16 organic seeds and grains) so, whew!, close call there. Don’t even know if I like that one yet.
I did escape the layoffs…(whew again!) though 4 friends in my office did not. I don’t know what exactly I’ll be doing yet…with my project team dissolved, it’ll be something new, but that’s kind of exciting too. That’s something I excel at…I’m an analyst that takes copious amounts of data and makes sense of it and develop killer Excel spreadsheets, flow charts, and anything else needed to show that information, so I think I’m going to end up part of a new team in another branch in the department. I created my job from scratch…it was a brand new spot so doing that again is exciting. Heh…gone from super-stressed to energized in a month. Life is funny sometimes.
Anyway this was supposed to be short, so I’m going to sign off now. Oh, one other thing…hope you’re still on the Treadmill APENSA… I have not been, but I won’t be either now that the weather is better…I’ll be outdoors getting my exercise now until the fall. 🙂
Have a safe and happy week everyone!

MemberPaula…peddles…By the way..I’m really glad that you survived that ordeal. I know it must have been rough I’d trade you your youth in a yankee minute but not the stress of being a working individual in todays environment. Hang in there, kid. and keep taking those “Good Lookin’ Pills”.
