I started the meal plan 3 days ago. So far, I am not hungry between meals. I am certainly hungry first thing in the morning. But that’s how one is supposed to be, right? The variety is great, because I get bored when diet foods are the same thing over and over. My husband is also enjoying the food. I don’t know if I’ve lost weight yet. I have a scales phobia when I first begin a weight loss plan. So until my clothes start feeling looser, I am avoiding the scale.

As for the amount of food, no amount of food is too much for me. I have a good appetite. When I’m not hungry, I’m sick. So I like the amount of food I can eat. When I get hungry, I know it’s time for a meal or snack.

In a week or two, I’ll step on the scales and have something to report.

You will do great! If you follow it, IT WILL WORK!! I have lost 8 pounds since the 24 of April. This is the best program i have been on. I did good on w.w. but I got tired of counting and measuring. GOOD LUCK.

I have been following the programme for a week – not perfect but good enough and have lost 3 pounds and so am delighted! I have posed a question about free vegetables (which I love) but haven’t heard back yet. Does anyone know why carrots, peas and beans aren’t on the list? I especially love fresh pod peas in the summer and they are a pulse as well. Anyone any ideas? I also love never being hungry!!

    Hi everyone!
kayakqueen1: This program is more like a lifestyle. Controlling your weight is one benefit, however, you will also have more energy to spend for doing other things. I started the program unofficially in January 2012 following the guidelines and avoiding the 5 foods that are bad for you. I joined the program officially in mid-January this year. Overall I lost over 20 pounds in the last year stuffing myself with good food. I probably would do better if I did not drink wine at lunch and dinner but… So be patient it does work.
Valerie88: At the bottom of the web page there is a contact us button. When you have a question for specific foods just look under the subject; change it to question; direct your question to Ossie and she will answer quicker. At the same time you could also ask why tomatoes are not on the list either.

Hi, Valerie88. Those items are listed in the lunch and dinner selections under Carbohydrates – carrots in “Salads/Vewgetables,” and the rest uner “Legumes”.

Addendum: Tomato is in the same list as carrot. While most of the list is in alphabetical order, tomato is listed toward the end.

I started today – hooray for me! I think this plan makes a lot of sense; it focuses on healthy eating, not starving yourself, and making reasonable choices. And I like the encouragement to eat as naturally (not processed) as possible. I battle emotional eating, and I also need help with meal planning. I’m optimistic this will provide some structure and options. Thank you!

    Hi all,
LOL RADISSON, how on earth could we not be listed with 1,850 posts it’s a big one to go missing although I do now that the chat forums are listed in priority of activity so if we don’t post for a few days we go down the list and drop down a few pages. I know I’m lucky living here in Italy, I just wish I had the will power that most the Italian ladies have here, they are walking examples of how to eat healthy, I have been asking a few women recently what they eat and the trim ones eat quite a lot and sound like their eating a trim down menu apart from the breakfast, because everyone I ask has a brioche and cappuccino. My little girls drs gave me a menu list for her which also looks like a trim down menu, so most folks here live that healthy lifestyle, my problem is I like sorry LOVE Pizza, and pasta dishes but have been good (most the time 🙂 ) How are you settle back home, bar-b-ques still going well?

How’s everyone else getting on? How’s your internet connection now? all sorted. I have lost another kilo (but that is 1 kilo that I regained last month so doesn’t count) was at the neurologist today so starting a new treatment for migraines and then due for my ankle x-ray Friday to check all is ok now and ok to get walking again.
KAY, VALARIE & LISA, welcome to the club and good ,luck on your personal plan, keep us informed how you get on? right better go or I’ll type more and more and more 🙂 happy healthy eating everyone.

Jackie,….My internet is much better, however, I have a program on my computer that records movies from the Television, but my cable guy said I don’t need a HD converter for it because the TV that it is hooked up to is an HD TV. But guess what…I don’t have 3 of the channels that I normally view. I’m going to just leave it as is cause my other TV, which has the converter on it, has those channels, but I won’t be able to record those channels on my computer anymore, which jumps to my HD TV for viewing. Oh well…I am not going to have the guy come back! I found out my home owner association pays for the first converted, so I consider myself lucky not to have another bill.

I really like the option TDC gives us now with our meal exchanges. Being diabetic, it gives me another way to keep track of what I’m eating and allows me to be sure I’m eating the right foods and amounts. Thanks TDC!

I get a little frustrated with the lack of weight loss though. It’s my fate to have a resistance metabolism, I suppose! I do see the difference in inches though, and occasionally, someone else notices! 🙂

    Take care everyone! Later!

VALARIE88: Some diets say that carrots, peas and beans have too many carbs compared to other veggies. Some allow these once or twice a week, but not all three twice a week in the same week. Hope this helps.

Hi All, just starting this program. I do have a question do you all drink 10 glasses of water a day?? I am only allowed 32 ounces for the complete day, is this going to affect the TDC? I am not allowed to eat dark leafy vegetables either. But I thought I could work around it? Any suggestions? Sounds like everyone seems to be very happy with this which is fantastic. And just wanting to say HI to all and it is a pleasure to meet you all. Thanks for any help.

    Thanks Chia
Your point makes sense – I am still getting my head around how much is a ‘serving ‘ when it comes to veg but overall I am loving the ability to eat well and enjoy so much good food. I am also learning how to use the recipes to alter and adapt some of my own favourites – for example Tuna salad can also be tuna with onion and tom puree and lemon juice rather than mayo – makes two options in a week. Is any one else adapting? Valerie 88

    Hi everyone!
    jackiee and horselover:

As part of my menu I get a pizza meal every week. You just have to adjust your menu accordingly. Of course, I am now near my target weight so I don’t mind to lose weight slower. I also cheat once in while on pasta. I can’t drink beer because I had 3 Gout attack last year. You know what they say; in heaven there is no beer! There is probably no wine, pizza or pasta either. Of course I am assuming that I earned a place heaven… In any case I am in no rush and that’s why I joined TDC to give myself a new lease on life.

Valerie88: Hi Valerie – everyone is adapting. 🙂 It does take a while so don’t get discouraged. It’s worth being healthy. Your menus should say the amount of food you eat for each item for each meal. Use your measuring cup for everything until you can eyeball the amount. It will come to you sooner than you think. The amount is important. If you have a little food scales like Weight Watchers uses, that’s great for meat. I was told to weigh meat BEFORE IT’S COOKED. For difficult questions about foods and nutrition, just post here and insert OSSIE’S name AT THE BEGINNING OF THE POST LIKE I DID ON THIS TO YOU. And never be hesitant in asking a questions. That’s part of this program. Have fun with your menus! Best Wishes with your success.
