I am going to bet on heaven because that’s where my wife is going after living with me for all those years… Like your husband said I’m sure most bankers, politicians and traders on Wall street have a reserved spot in hell. I much prefer to be heavenly poor but in good company. I do have to earn a lot of credits to get there.

I join three days ago and have lost 3 pounds already. Just knowing it is ok to mess up, then pick up and go on is so refreshing. I don’t feel condemned and like a failure as with so many other weight loss programs. One time, at a weigh in, I had gained one pound. The lady looked at me and said, “you know what you did to get that pound and you know what to do to get rid of it.” WOW…was that ever so NOT encouraging. And of course everyone in line behind me heard it as well. So….this is an awesome place! Go thankful to have found it. Have a fantastic day everyone.

    Hi everyone!
dawnrosie: Sorry to hear about your father. I hope he is feeling better.

I have good news for those of you who are very busy and don’t have much time to cook. Last week I bought a Lekue Steam Case with Tray 3-4 pers (1.4 litre capacity). This steam case goes in the microwave or a regular oven. I never tried any recipe in the oven yet, they take too much time. However, you can prepare Brown rice in 11 minutes, then add your favorite veggies on top and frozen fish portions throw it back in the microwave and presto its ready in 6 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. They have all kinds of recipes using TDC foods. So far I used it to cook Quinoa, rice, mixed beans. The rice and quinoa come out crunchy and the texture and taste are unbelievable. Same with the veggies. This product is produced in Spain and is available almost everywhere. Check their site and see for yourself. My best advice is to substitute water with either low fat, low salt chicken or beef broth in the foods recipes. For Quinoa you can use either broth or milk. The milk will foam so you have to reduce the microwave Heath level to 5 or below. I’m working on recipes to share with you in both US and metric standards. I need some time to try them out first.

Hi everyone, how you all doing?

DAWNROSIE, hope your Dad ok and the stroke hasn’t affected him to much.

KATIE, I know how frustrating it can be with the slow weight loss, but remember in a few years time your look back and wonder were all those inches used to be and still be living a good healthy life without even looking up the recipes here but one thing is for sure your computer\internet\tv recorder will only get more confusing 😉

LINDA72397-no sure about the water, struggle with the quantity but keep a 2 litre bottle everyday and try finish it. I’m sure OSSIE will answer your question as soon as she picks up your post. With green leafy veg question, try hitting the refresh button at the end of the menu item, it gives a list of food you can swap with. Also when making up your menu don’t add veg your not allowed. Good luck and remember to let us know how your getting on.

HORSELOVER, have you tried the pizza recipe from TDC, with the pesto, I did, it’s not bad, but still prefer my tomato salsa, some things I find hard to change, but hope you reach your goal soon so you can have a Pizza

RADISSON, I was good tonight, no pizza, :-\ but if I’m honest its through guilt because I was picking Cherries from the trees, Monday, Wednesday and today. I cup of cherries were probably consumed just picking them from the trees. I picked loads for me and some surrounding neighbours and friends. I must admit when I used to eat fruit in Scotland I thought it was good but after living here I tend not to eat fruit when visiting Scotland as it seems tasteless now where as here OH MY…. DELIZIOSO when fruit is picked straight from the tree, it unbeatable. oh I can’t wait for the apricot trees to start too. I wonder if OSSIE would allow me just to replace all my fruit and veg potions each days with the fruit that’s coming of the trees, aww I LOVE LOVE LOVE SPRING HERE. Thanks for the tip about the Lekue Steam Case, sound good, will check it out. I would need to use it in the regular oven as don’t have a microwave anymore. Used to when I lived in UK but here I just don’t seem to need one, life is much better here, a nice slow pace. All I need to learn and keep doing it sticking to portion size. As a lady said to me last week, ‘I used to have a big tummy like yours but slimmed down just by saying NO, thanks’…… I thought she obviously hasn’t got a sister-in-law with six huge cherry trees and a chunk of land full of fruit trees and veggie patch. How on earth can I possible learn how to say no thanks to that I ask.

GALEANN, glad to see your losing already, and give TDC a try. So pleased you’ve moved on from your last weigh loss program, although I hope you told the rep that her bullying tactics were so discouraging. Remember let us all know how your getting on.

NANCY, I’d stay away from those hospital scales for sure, by the sounds of things your scales are much better 😉 I believe our clothes are a great giude too. I like the little extra room in my clothes, just wish I’d get to the point in needing to not wear my stuff so baggy!!! hope your hubby is ok.

Well folks, sure I have said enough. I know I should be reporting a little more weight loss but I’m blaming the cherry trees this week 😀 so till next time, take care all, and happy healthy eating all.

Jackie…cherries are in season here too, and I have to tell you, every time I buy some, I think of you! lol I love them too. I think they are a great treat.
Yesterday I had a really fun day. I have made a new friend who is a widow also, and she and I went for an excursion. She has this lovely cabin in the near-by mountains here, and we went to check on her property.
Then we continued up the road about another 45 minutes and went to a reservoir where I will be taking the young women of our church for camp this year. (Me and about six other leaders)! It was so much fun seeing where we’ll (they) will be camping. My friend is going to let me come to her cabin each night so I won’t have to tent it! lol
We also stopped and met a few of her relatives and just had a wonderful day (which ended with lunch). It’s the first time I’ve had a Reubon sandwich since I’ve been on this program. It may not have been a very healthy choice, except for the saurkraut that was on it, but it was surre yummy. I shouldn’t admit it either, but we also shared some sweet potato fries! We split our order, so I felt a little better about that. But I realized that I am going to have to be disciplined when the two of us go on a little trip next week. She does like her goodies, so I’ll just have to be sure to take some “legal” goodies of my own!
I have not been to the gym in two days either, and now I’m paying for it. I was up two pounds today. It seems like I keep fluctuating these two pounds! I just can’t seem to get past the lost 13 pound mark…hey, I didnt think about it, maybe it is because 13 is the unlucky number? I don’t think I can blame it on that!
Oh well, like most of you have mentioned on this program, when we fall off, we just have to jump back on. So I’m off to the gym. Good Luck everyone! We’ll do this together!

    Ossie…
Just wondering if yams are ok, or do we need to stick to sweet potatoes? I prefer yams, so it’s probably not as good for you. lol

    #11986

Hi, stgeofun. Yams and sweet potatoes are quite similar in nutritional value, and of course superior to white potatoes. A lot depends on how you prepare it – extras add up.

Ossie…Thanks for replying to my question. I’m glad to find out that yams are just as good for you. I just like their taste better than sweet potatoes. I have learned to omit the cinnamon butter that I use to put on them, and of course our Thanksgiving yams were strictly butter and brown sugar. Those days are gone! lol

RADDISON: Do you have the Lekue Steam Case or the Ogya XL Cooking Pot? I think I’ll order the Steam Case. It’s a little longer and wider but not quite as high, but I think I’d like the longer size. Where did you buy yours? Are there different prices at different places?

    Hi everyone!
CHIA:I have the Lekue Steam Case and got it on the Internet. There are no local retailers here. Check their site and see if they got a local retailer and then compare with Internet. It really works and the food tastes great. Just be sure to wear good mitts when you take it out of the microwave and hold each end firmly.
stgeofun: You know that if you go to the gym regularly you may be gaining muscle mass. That will reduce your weight loss but you will still feel looser in your clothing. Muscles take less volume and in addition you will have more energy and you will feel much better. Muscles support your body functions and reduce the load on your heart, your joints and all the articularions. My doctor says use them or lose them. Its hard but its true.

Hi all. For some reason alerts from TDC were ending up in my junk mail. Just found them by accident among the offers of “Natural Male Enhancement”, and “The Girl Of My Dreams” offers…..LOL. I am only able to quickly scan the posts I have missed. My heart goes out to you Rosie. I hope your Dad is doing as well as possible. Good to see you all.

Raddison…I know you’re right, but when the scale says I weigh less it is sure a good feeling. I’ve tried to just eat the right choices lately, but I was not getting all the things in I was suppose to be eating, so today I’m going to try to follow the plan a little more closely.
I also increased my routine at the gym today, so hopefully the combination will give me the results that I want. It’s just a bit discouraging when I lose so slowly, and others are doing much better in that area. But there is also satisfaction in knowing that I am eating a helathy way and changing my old habits.

    Good Luck to us all.
