apensaMemberHairOil……..I love that name……You are right. The basics still hold true….watch what you eat, how much you eat and when you eat. I don’t need anyone to tell me that a greasy hamburger and French fries are not the best thing to eat….but God, they are soooooo good…..the program does give some great hints as to how to have your cake and eat it too

BobhjooleyMemberOssie – thank you for your answer. Any chance you have a great smoothie recipe you think is awesome to have. Smoothie can be fruit/veg/etc….

doreen59MemberHi, I’ve just joined and going through the menu planner, the morning breakfasts include shredded wheat, bran cereals etc, but there’s no mention of milk, are we meant to eat it dry?
July 21, 2013 at 7:19 pm #13454
Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Doreen, and welcome. You can eat the cereals however you want. If you like them with milk, you can either choose the cereal with milk option, or you can select cereal (carbohydrates) and milk (protein) separately.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Tstands. Regarding the soup, try using the exchanges listed in the Comments section – each cup or so is about 2-1/4 carbs and 1-1/2 fats; the carbs are equivalent to such things as a cup of rice, pasta, or similar starchy side dish or two slices of bread, and the fats are equal to half a Tablespoon of oil. It may be that it is not coming up on your menu because there are fats in other areas, but don’t worry too much about that – just swap it for the vegetables and dressing or sauce in your meal.
Regarding the quorn products – the program does not recommend processed products like the nuggets or burgers – it is preferable that you buy whole quorn and prepare it yourself.
Regarding the brownies: when you get your daily menu, click on the exchange information, and note where you see a yellow star – that’s where you can place a brownie.July 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm #13479
LynnMMemberI have found, though, you only get the yellow star if you ask for the most variety in your menu, possibly also most recipes. Try out the button on the right of the menu which says ‘change recipe and food variety’
Thanks for that info about soup substitution, Ossie, I was wondering the same thing.

LynnMMemberI know what you mean, tstands, I never enjoyed cooking….just loved to bake, which got me here! But I really enjoy eating well now, and for that you have to cook, no more fast food if I can help it.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Speelya1. Sprouted flour is not something generally sold in stores, but rather online. If you are in the US, here are a couple of sources for you:
1. http://www.organicsproutedflour.net/onlinestore.html
2. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sprouted+flourJuly 25, 2013 at 12:08 pm #13554
