I’m new here too. So far I like what I see. I just started a group for folks with diverticulitis. I hope more will join. I also joined the gluten free group.

    Sharon,
I see you make mention to Danger about fruits being a carb and being able to swap it for bread or half a cup of cerial or rice. Where can I find a list of exchanges and how many exchanges I should be getting for each meal and snack?

Is there a way I can keep track of my posts so I can look for the response? I posted something earlier and now I cannot find it.

Hi, CaseyGirl. Fruits are a “carb,” but in a different group compared to starches like cereal and rice, so it is preferred that you do not swap them unless you have plenty of fruits and vegetables elsewhere in your day.
Regarding exchange lists, we will be publishing these in the near future. In the meantime, you can click on “View Exchanges” to the right of your menu to get an idea.
As far as searching your posts: if you ask a question, when someone gets back to you, you receive an e-mail message with a link.

Thanks, Ossie-Sharon for these links. It is a little disconcerting, to say the least, when one can’t track down one’s posts.

Thanks for your replies re my not being able to find my posts, Apensa.

I’m noticing Casey Girl has had a similar experience to mine a couple of posts back:
Quote: Is there a way I can keep track of my posts so I can look for the response? I posted something earlier and now I cannot find it. End quote.

I find this forum quite difficult to get used to – especially from the point of view that the latest posts are added above the existing ones. On all forums of which I am a member, including one I run myself, the posts read in a downward direction according as they are added.

To be honest, I don’t think this format is very conducive to receiving replies or getting to know other members better.

I had clicked in Subscribe to Topic each time, but didn’t get any response from that, that might have helped.

Even the fact that I have lost 8 pounds in my first week, doesn’t seem to merit any response from anybody.

I’m wondering if it might be a good idea to look into the possibility of finding a better format for this forum? It’s a pity that navigation can prove so difficult.

Or is it just a question of “Take their money – and who cares after that”? I dread to think that that could be the case.

I have been really excited about this Trim Down Club program, recommending it to my friends, but this forum really lets me down.

Hope these remarks are taken as they are meant – constructive criticism.

Cheers, All! Have a good day!

Hi Whisker – I’ve subscribed to the topic and the messages all come to me via email. I do sometimes have a poke thru the message boards to see if there’s anything that I’ve missed or new threads that I’m not subscribed to. I don’t find the format that difficult – I’m on loads of different forums too – and one thing that irritates me is to have to keep going in search of the last post on a given thread. So this format is easy enough, IMO.

Well done on your 8lb loss – that’s amazing. I was a bit disheartened that I’d actually GAINED two pounds my first week. However, I’m on my third week and have lost 4 (2 plus the original 2 that I’d gained earlier). So very happy now that it’s going in the right direction. Energy levels wayyyy up which was a major issue for me. I’ve just started going back to the gym this week (first time in 7 years). It’s not that I’d led a sedentary life – far from it in fact. I work on my feet 40 plus hours a week, and I have a horse which up til this summer I was having to go to twice a day, do manual labor/chores/lifting and by the time I’d finished the horsey chores, I’d nil energy left to actually sit on the thing!

However, a few management changes there, and more significantly, my own management changes – and now I’m working with a spring in my step, working out AND riding a few times a week. So all improved!

I actually find TDC VERY good value for money. Most other diet programmes will take a monthly fee off you – and that can add up to a much higher amount of money over the year(s). Considering it’s only a one time price of less than a meal out, I think it’s brilliant. I love all the articles and *recent studies* which I spend a bit of time each night having a nose through.

Another thing too – is all the forums I’m on just now are quiet – summer and weekends especially are generally quiet as people are out and about doing things, lots of people on holidays, school’s out so the grown ups are busy chasing after their kiddiewinks. I am willing to wager you a fiver that come September these forums will be busier! 🙂

Hi, Tstands. The amounts are configured per day and per meal, but you can definitely switch back and forth between days. If you are going to switch between meals, just make sure you get the total servings of food groups over the day (especially proteins, fruits, and vegetables).

Hi, dawnrosie. You mentioned three months ago that you were losing weight and feeling slimmer. Have you hit a plateau now? For the past 8 days, or has it been more? I would be more than happy to help if you wish.

I barely joined today, but have been half-heartedly “clean eating” for a few weeks. I finished the menu generator but there are some strange things it gave me. Like for breakfast, a piece of breakfast pizza AND a wheat wrap? Has anyone else had strange things like that?

Welcome, Brennalemon, That’s my motto…..”Pizza, Breakfast of Champions”…Especially if it is cold and has lots of pepperoni on it. You will see a lot of strange items throughout the menus but they work if you stick to it. Enjoy!
