MemberThank you so much Seaborn. The only thing I am doing at the moment is trying my best to follow my menu plan given to me. I am being brave and have been trying all kinds of new foods I have never had. My old diet was pretty much Mexican food because that is how I was reared. I prep, I cook, I eat, all day long. Haha. Wow. I never thought I would say that and be proud of it. LOL I am not yet exercising due to the weather being wet outside and need it to dry up. However, I did try to just keep moving when I go shopping. Plenty of stretching in the morning and before I go to bed. Good old physical therapy. I also learned from one of the articles up on the top of the page. One on getting a good nights sleep. I am having trouble with that. Any way. People who do not get enough sleep have release a type of chemical that makes you feel hungry and sluggish. Truly worth giving it a looksy. Take care, and good eating. :}

MemberHi all – one question…about bread….I totally love bread and definitely cannot live with out it. But since reading much about SWG bread, I am scared to have anything else, and in Japan (where I live) breads are mostly white, soft and soft; lots of French bread, and poor attempts at rye-bread…..I am on the hunt for good bread shops right now, but my question is..what should I be looking for….dark breads with lots of seeds in them ONLY? Can I no longer enjoy French breads? What about the odd Bagel? Any chance of a piece of sweet bread now and then. Or should I only be looking for breads with seeds and grains in them?

MemberHey Annaleeramos….funny, I just had a look at that article on the sleep. I knew that was a problem, but was good to read through and be reminded of what I knew. I am actually going for a sleep apnoea test today…and some blood tests next week.I am so tired and lacking energy, partly from the heat, partly from being so heavy, but I think my iron levels are very low as well. I loved that you were surprised to be so proud of cooking and eating all day…the Mexican way…now you can still do it, but in a different way hey? Haha…you got a good start on some of us! I hate preparing food…I would much rather have someone look after that part of my life for me!!! Hey maybe you could…heheh! Good to see you on FB.

MemberWATER…. I have been doing really well with my ten glasses of water. Every day, I print out my menu plan for the day and way at the bottom of it, I added a water chart with ten squares. I call it my Water intake Goal. I don’t mind it at all and as I check every thing off through out the day, It just gives me that much more encouraged to do well. I place my initials in a square for every 8oz glass of water I drink. When I feel I have just about had enough of the water I drink me a cup of green tea with stevia and lemon. By the time I finish my next meal, I’m thirsty and go looking for the water. So…. That’s how I do it. How about the rest of you? How is every one doing with the water intake? The water is a big key point in losing the weight. It helps flush out all of the impurities first, and then it start to work on unneeded fat in the body, as well as you body doesn’t want to keep all that water in because it knows more is coming, so a lot of inflammation and water retention goes away too.

MemberGreat job on the water intake, annaleeramos, and thanks for your advice. I need to get into the same habits you have developed on drinking water…! Water and green / brown teas (unsweetened) are definitely the way to go!

MemberHahah… Hey That not a bad idea. I have always wanted to go to Australia. But really. Once you start the cooking and prepping, It is a good idea to get some storage cups because there is now way we can eat all that food. What I have started doing is, once every one has eaten, I portion the food out into zipp lock bags for now and freeze them for another time I need to use them. Les work for prepping in the future, and great to have ready to take to work for those who live a busy life. Just place it on a plate or bowl and microwave.

MemberThank you MeguroNick. I’m flattered. Hey. I have an idea for your dilemma on the bread. How would you feel about making your own bread. There are loads of great recipes on the internet, and you can probably have the flour specially delivered for you. But before you do that, Have you looked on google the see where you can find these type of foods near your location? That’s how I found most of mine.

MemberHello all. Thanks to you for the encouragement and wishes on our anniversary. Had a lovely time today. Sitting here eating my dinner and typing this. Having chicken soup for the gods and salad. My husband likes it and just said very good. We took our snack with us to the movies and the popcorn didn’t tempt me at all. About all the cooking….after I got home from the grocery last evening I started cooking some of my meals for the week. Divided them up and put them in individual serving containers. I made the lemon cottage cheese muffins, banana brown butter bread, vegetable quiche. Baking my sweet potatoes tonight and will put them into serving size containers. My husband portioned out the grapes and I did the same with our nuts. So when we get hungry or it’s time for a meal I will already have it done. Harborview, We drink water with our meals so if you drink a 16 oz glass then you will have 6 down and then only have 4 to go. I take a water with me in the car. Hope that helps.
MeguroNick. Some stores carry SWG bread in the frozen section. I bought Eziekel bread and it really tastes great. My husband ask when he could have it again. If he likes it, it’s gotta be good. Hope I’ve helped some. Oh, I’m gonna read the article on sleep. I’m one of those who can’t get to sleep. I flip and flop. I guess you can say my New Year’s resolution is to get to bed by 10:00 – 10:30 even if I can’t sleep I can read for awhile. Usually it’s 1:00 before I go to bed. Exercise started this past Monday and I go 3 days a week. Since I’m 65 now 🙁 I can do the silver sneakers program that my insurance provides. I feel like I have more energy on the days I exercise (only been two!). Signing off for the evening. Everyone have a good evening/day. Again thanks for all the encouragement and I hope to be an encouragement to y’all.January 10, 2013 at 1:57 am #5478annaleeramos

MemberI just thought of a question I meant to ask y’all. Isn’t Truvia the same as stevia?

MemberThanks, annaleeramos and ginnerlou for your advice. Much appreciated. My wife actually suggested that I bake my own bread….I am definitely going to look into this…!
