Good Morning, I am new to this meal plan and in my diet it calls for a health bar from time to time. What is considered a heath bar. Their are all kinds of snack bars that seem healthy but are not. Can anyone help me identify a healthy or at least not harmful “health bar” ??? Thanks

Sort of a “duhh” type of question……but as everyone knows, I am sort of a “Duhhh” type of individual. Can I assume that a Celiac is one who heretofore I recognized as someone who has to adhere to a gluten free diet? I know several of those people one of which I actually accompanied on a tour of Sicily and Southern Italy. I was surprised at the awareness of the need for a gluten free diet among Italians. They actually made a gluten free pizza for my friend at one of our stops. I also noticed that they have entire sections in the super markets dedicated to those with a gluten free diet. Sorry. I’m rambling. I guess I am saying, “Go visit Italy”…..except for those of you who are already there……right jackiee?

Now let’s see……what was my original comment?

Hi, Khoff. Those additions are just recommendations, based on your profile. If you selected low-sugar or cholesterol, or made very few omega-3 selections in your menu, those products would pop up – again, just recommendations.

Hi, khoff. Hummus is available in the Menu Planner in the Noon and Snacks area (under Carbohydrates – Spreads/Sauces/Condiments/Dressing). If you want it at the Morning or Evening meals, just choose garbanzo beans.
Regarding the amount of food, it may take your body a while to get used to eating normal amounts again. Be patient, and ease into it. Try to get some physical activity to wake up your metabolism, and if you are already active, try new exercises to use new muscles.

I agree with YvonneD. I posted a question(s)and kept watching for an answer. After 1 week of watching, I gave up til now, and now I cant find it. In fact its only by looking for over an hour I happened onto this page. I admit, I am not the most computer savvy person around, but this site seems to be all over the place. I would think you would at least offer a phone number to customer service instead of an email. Most people in these situations dodnt want to wait over a week for a reply. I understood your intro to mean I would have ACCESS to a nutritionist, and that this would be planned to my special needs. You have to be aware of the extremely limited kinds of foods kidney disease patients must follow. On the quick start menu on the 1st day alone there were at least 10 items I\’m not to have! When I chose read more on YvonneD\’s it took me to a completely different site? It\’s been 3 weeks since I joined and so far have not received one darn thing for my money. However, I did see where I can speak to a nutritionist for yet more money per hr, or was it per minute? NOT A VERY HAPPY MEMBER. CAROLEANNIE

Hi Carolennie and Catlife40, sorry to hear your struggling with the menu planned. And with questions and answers. Ossie is great she will answer all your nutrition questions but to see the answers you would need to subscribe to the topic you post the question in. For example Newbies2013, has the reply section then a tag box and under that there a tick box at subscribe to topic. You will then get every post on that topic. The menu planner is very time consuming but only the first time. I would suggest ticking the item you know and add other when you get to know them. Save and create a menu. You can then either regenerate a new menu every week or just look at your old one under the menu history app. I love this plan and have truely got my moneys worth, so please stick with it, it is so worth it in the end. I hope you find it easier to get round the site, if not post a question (and remember subscribe to the topic, so you get your answer emailed to you,) good luck.

Hi, Moonshine29. Everything is on the website. Information is available through “My Downloads” (very top of this page, second from the right), as well as “Articles” and “Recent Studies” just under the very top orange bar. You will also find the “Recipes” link in that row. You can also get information through these forums, of course.

Hi, Nancy. No, but you can definitely use a certain day’s menu for several days in a row.

Help! Tuna is on my menu plan, but it does not sound good just to eat it straight out of a can…need some ideas to make it more enticing without blowing my program! I’m doing ok; it’s been two weeks, but still not on track with the weekly menu plan.

Hi, Kingfisher. Actually, the foods are from around the world. They are less well known to most people because they are less mass-produced, which means less manipulated and more nutritious and supportive of healthy weight loss and maintenance. For UK shopping, you can check out the links here http://www.trimdownclub.com/where-to-buy-UK/, as well as http://www.Amazon.co.uk

Helloooooooo, sorry it’s been a while but just been living from old menu’s
Glad your back from Italy Apensa and it was a good trip. well done if you didn’t gain a pound, now that is an achievement or is that just another way of saying you gained 2 lbs or more????? 😉
I’ve not reached anything like my target because I fall of the wagon to much and it’s not eating rubbish either. It’s just so hard sticking to portions when you have a huge bowl of delicious cherries on the table, along with all the tasty melons, plums, apricots and watermelons all in season. I also don’t like the new menu planner much, I find it rather time consuming when you want to swap something you have to change the full meal, along with choosing the stuff you want to eat. I do miss the swap button next to each item but I’m sure the new system must keep some happy. I now tend just to go by old menu’s I printed off. My down fall is sticking to the plan down to the letter!!!
Good luck to all you newbies hope you find the plan good for you too

And, Musicteacherjw, if you can’t find what you want at a store, you can make it yourself by putting nuts or seeds in a food chopper or food processor, and grinding for about 12 minutes or so, until you get the consistency you want (you can also adjust it by adding oil).

juettaylor…….I’m sure Ossie will respond with some definitive steps you might consider. I just want to encourage you to stick with it. Have you purchased some of the basics for what the recopies call for and/or have you prepared some of the food according to the guidelines given? Although they contain ingredients that might be foreign to you they are based on scientific body metabolism. THEY WILL WORK!!!! It takes time though, so don’t give up. There should be no reason why your husband cannot enjoy the same foods as you. Some of the recipes are fantastic although they may contain ingredients that you have not heard of……and some are hard to find. Anyway…..don’t give up. One last thing…….Do as I say, not as I do….LOL
