Cindyf123MemberHow do I put in the other persons weight and age?
August 15, 2014 at 3:08 pm #22570
Cindyf123MemberAnother question. My Doctor has me on a low sodium lifestyle of 1500 milligrams or less a day. Cottage Cheese , even low sodium cottage is to high and on my forbidden list. Can I substitute ricotta for it? And you never answered me if adult 1 is 195 & adult 2 is 172 are the portions the same? Thanks, Cindy

apensaMemberCindy…..I’m sure Ossie Sharon will get back to you regarding your concerns. Sometimes it takes a little while if she is off. Be patient….she will respond ASAP.

CHIAMemberAPENSA – I like the way you have Ossie Sharon’s back – all the time. I’m sure she appreciates you 🙂 I have not been on here for many months and am recuperating in the hospital Skilled Care area from knee replacement. Having a hard time with the painful therapy but know it has to be, or it can freeze up. I DON’T WANT THAT!!! That would be having the surgery all over again. This is bad enough to go through. I still receive the posts and occasionally read a few. Hope all is well with you 🙂

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Cindy. Sorry for the delay (thanks, Apensa & Chia!). According to the weight you posted in your profile and Adult B being 170 lbs (and all else being equal), you would both follow the same meal pattern.
Regarding the adults whose weights are 195 and 172 lbs, what are their heights, genders, and activity levels?
Whether or not you avoid sugar entirely would be your choice – if you like sweets, as long as the sweeteners are natural, you don’t automatically have to give them up (just eat them in moderation).
Ricotta is an excellent substitute for cottage cheese.
Please do let me know if you need any further information.August 16, 2014 at 12:43 am #22583
apensaMemberCHIA….I sent you a message. I feel for what you must be going through.

CHIAMemberAPENSA – Surgery was Monday, Aug 4th. On Aug 8th I left the hospital and went to our local hospital where they have a Skilled Care Unit if you need more help before you go to your home, which I did/do for a while. Medicare needs to approve it though and they did. I also know people who had both at the same time done, but I don’t know how they could do that. You need one good one to help you get around. I’m not that strong of a person. I will be so happy to just get this one done and working again 🙂

apensaMemberYou just hang in there, Chia…….you will be fine and from what I hear from others, wonder why you did not have it done sooner. Make sure you try to stay on a healthy diet while recuperating. Again and as always…..do as I say, not as I do. LOL

KaybentonMemberI am disappointed in my weigh in after my second week..I gained a pound. I thought I followed the plan just as I did on the first week. I also exercise regularly. Is this typical. I am discouraged.

apensaMemberKay……I can understand your disappointment in the progress you have made but please don’t get discouraged. Keep in mind that you are eating healthier and the unseen benefits from that are perhaps even more important than a figure on a scale. I am going through the same thing with no results but I have to admit I have not been as adherent to the menus and food items recommended. I fall off the wagon so much that they just decided to drag me along. But, being part of this group, I am making better choices especially when eating out. For the small investment you have made in a healthier lifestyle, your rate of return will out perform doing nothing. I encourage you to stay the course. There are plenty of leeway to make adjustments. Just stay happy and positive. And…….as always…..Do as I say, not as I do!

KaybentonMemberI am also continuing to be frustrated with the menus. Why would one want to eat a shake , glass of milk and ice cream for your snack along with a veggie? This is not practical to me.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Kay. I have forwarded your query to tech support. In the meantime, please do take advantage of the swap function – just click on the food you want to change and select a new one.
