kpgoldstarMemberThanks! I wasn’t sure if the 8 week plan was the one I paid the extra membership for. Also, what about substitutions? If menu calls for a banana, can I have a peach or nectarine instead? Rye bread (pretty sure I won’t be able to find 100% whole grain locally), could I sub for SWG? When calling for organic cow’s milk can I use unsweetened almond milk? One more thing, what about protein powder shake for a quick snack or breakfast? I don’t recall seeing that mentioned. Organic, no sugar, high protein blended with almond milk and fruit. Could that sub for eggs, milk and fruit? Thank you again for your help!

waynestevens6MemberOn the menu it says ” 1 slice of bread, brown rice”. Does that mean both or one or the other? How much brown rice? What is consider “a serving”? I imagine there is somewhere on the site that I can get those answers but find the site cumbersome to move from topic to topic.?????

samiam0905MemberOk, this is’t a menu question but I’m new here and would like to be able to print a grocery list, can someone tell me how if it’s even possible??

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Wayne. No, it means that the bread is made at least primarily from brown rice flour. Most of the servings for foods are listed in the menu (as they vary per person and per meal); where there is a recipe or “Vegetable of Your Choice,” click on the pot icon next to it to see what a serving is.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, samiam. You can get your printable grocery list by clicking on the corresponding icon in the toolbar above your finished menu (second from the far right).

myparentswerewonderfulMemberI’m new, joined two days ago and I noticed there is a lot of bread products in my menu’s. Should I be eating so much bread? Also, there are no bananas in my menu and I have to eat a banana every day. The bread products, can they be bought at a regular grocery store on the shelf? Thank you but I am confused when it comes to these things. I plan on starting this coming Monday.

apensaMemberMyparents……I’m sure Ossie will respond to your question shortly. I did not want you to think that no one was listening. Bread…..the right bread, is part of a balanced menu. I can almost assure you that Ossie will give you a better response and be able to respond regarding the banana situation. Just hang in there a while.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, myparentswerewonderful. Breads are just like any starchy carbohydrate, and if you make a high-quality selection, they can be part of a well-balanced menu. If carbohydrate amounts are your concern, note our program is overall low in carbohydrates. If you’re not sensitive to grains, then no worries there. Bananas are a very starchy fruit, and so count as 1 fruit + 1 carb exchange, meaning you can have a banana instead of 2 slices of bread – that will take care of both of your concerns.

willowjazMemberI just joined TDC couple of weeks ago and saw a really encouraging loss the first week. Now I’ve hit the point where I’m starting to gain back. I have been absolutely religious about following the plan ‘to a T’ – I wanted to give it a good chance to see if it would work. I have a couple of questions. If you use the exchange for a meal and you use one of the exchanges, does it change the overall plan for the day? I have used the recommended exchanges for that meal, but now I’m wondering if somehow it throws the entire day’s menu out of whack. Any suggestions? It’s been disappointing to see the scale go up for two days in a row instead of down!!

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, WillowJaz. It shouldn’t really make a difference. What has your physical activity been like for the past few weeks? And compared to before you started with us?
