MemberHi, dsugar904. That’s great news!!
Regarding the bread, 7-grain is usually just fine – you can read the ingredients list to make sure there isn’t white flour in there.September 26, 2018 at 8:33 pm #42044lynnsingsyoga@gmail.com
MemberHello,
I just started. Am over-whelmed trying to understand the measuring of food. Do I need to buy a food scale to figure out ounces??? So confused.

MemberHi, Lynn. Hi, Lynn. You don’t need to get a scale, just do some math to figure out portion sizes by weight, or get used to how portion sizes look (usually the size of the palm of your hand without fingers).

MemberIs it okay to eat the same menu more than once oer week if it includes a dessert? I notice not all days include dessert or wine.

MemberHi. I am very new – on my first day actually. So..for a snack today i have 2 Ryvitas and 1 serve free spread. On the free spread page it gives an amount per slice of bread etc. Is my one serve of free spread per Ryvita, or is it one serve to be shared between the two? Just wondering…

MemberHi again. I have another question. When my menu recommends 1 serve of vegetables, can I make up the cup with a variety of vegetables eg: 1/2 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup cauliflower or does it have to be one cup of the same veg?

MemberHi, Linda. It is one to be shared between the two, but if you want to double it, just have a little less of something else on your menu.

MemberI am new to this program and having a problem with it. It is way too much for me to eat. I would like to eliminate the snacks. Also the menus don’t seem appropriate to me. I would normally eat you lunch menu for my dinner menu and my dinner menu for my lunch menu. Does that work?

MemberHi, Linda. You absolutely can switch between lunch and dinner as you wish. You can eliminate the snacks, but do be sure to get in at least 5 total fruit/vegetable servings and at least 3 calcium-rich food/beverage servings each day.

MemberI’m not seeing any dairy, iry, I am
I don’t see any dairy and I drink organic skim milk everyday. How can I add this to the diet ?
I am brand new and overwhelmed already
I am 74years young and can relate all my conditions, back and knee pain, shortness of breath, poor stamina, etc. to being grossly overweight. More than anything, I want to be active again.November 3, 2018 at 12:45 am #42215Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, mps1944. Dairy is located in the Protein section of the Menu Planner food lists. Do make sure that your profile does not include “Non-Dairy” in the lower right corner. For some guidance in using the site, I recommend you read the “Quick Start Guide,” which you can download from “My Guides” (link at the top right of this page). Don’t worry about jumping in headfirst – just get used to things and make gradual changes. I’m happy to answer any nutrition questions.

MemberHi. Just joined and looking for a list of ‘free’ foods that can be enjoyed in any quantity. I have Polycystic ovaries so this diet was recommended.

MemberHi, Sarah, and welcome! You can see that list by first clicking on the “My Food Choices” icon in the toolbar above your menu, then on the “Free” button among the colored food group buttons in the Menu Planner area.
