MemberMorning Kelz1973….where are you in the country? Iam up on Boyne Island…pleasant here today, so far….hoping for storms!!! Sounds like you are in a hotter area love. Not sure what you can do about eating more in the heat…I am like it too, but I have kept my menu to salads, rarely have a hot meal, and drinking lots of water.Hope it all goes well for you.

MemberHi, Jackiee. Yes, of course your can make the swap. Just try to be aware of exchanging the same food groups and similar portions, etc.

MemberHi Jackie,
You are good to wait the week. I usually weigh every day as I have found over the years it keeps me highly motivated. If I do put a little on I then work harder to make it happen.Going to be a hot one here yet again. Around 41 degrees in Murray Bridge. Good salad weather. Bring on Autumn and we will all be weighing less!

MemberJackiee shouldn’t you be tucked up in your bed??? Must be about 11pm there…you are a night owl too aren’t you? haha…I think most of us are.
Well, I took my husband to work at 6.45, and then parked down at the river and walked for a 1/2 hour with my camera! Yay…this is the beginning of a new path for me!!! I hate walking, and my shoes I have best for walking in gave me a blister. I did some damage to an ankle a few years ago, and have a calification buildup on it now, which causes a bit of swelling. Ah well, just have to put a blister bandaid on it for tomorrow morning!!!
R2b2…magnesium tablets…try them for your cramps. I get them when I excercise, probably because I haven’t drunk enough water as well, so started taking them…they helped. Now I am drinking more water, and not exercising enough!!! But that will change today!!! Congratulations on your weight loss…that is great, and I hope you can get your thyroid meds sorted…I don’t get a lot of sleep…such a pain.January 16, 2013 at 10:29 pm #6426r2b2
MemberSeaborn, great with your walking. We are all getting older with our calcification build ups and sore feet. Oh well, we will be new people soon with this lovely healthy eating.
The doctor has prescribed potassium and magnesium tablets. Have you had your thyroid checked lately. An under active thyroid can cause terrible cramps with exercise. Many ladies as we get older suffer from an under active thyroid so probably worth a check next time you are seeing your doctor.

MemberGoodmorning Seaborn, as you start your day I end mine, I’m a bit of a night owl and also a early morning lark. Great news your got the camera out on your walk, hope you got some fab shots, shame your feet are suffering so much though. I have an underactive thryoid too r2b2! it’s been a long haul getting my meds balanced, and losing weight isn’t easy but hopefully the slowly, slowly approach will help me.
Well Ladies and Gents, my bed is calling. Did you manage to get a ‘gid blether’ with anyone on your walk Seaborn ;-D
Wishing you all well and happy healthy eating, night night all

MemberHey R2b2…there you are…you have a face…lovely to see you.And your menu sounds great…My doctor always checks my thyroid, and have never had a problem with it, but I am due for another blood test this week, so something may have changed. Hopefully not! I see you are at Murray Bridge…that place just keeps popping up lately. Have a friend who lives there and is waiting to join her husband in Scotland. Also my husband got a call recently from a vet he was in Vietnam with, who lives in that area…he and his wife go to the same church this other couple are part of! Amazing! Yes, with age comes a lot of things we weren’t expecting hey? Blood pressure, sore hips, feet, harder to lose weight, blah blah blah…but so much else to be thankful for! I am trying to get this weight off so I can do more with my young grandchildren and enjoy it fully, before they grow out of wanting to do things with Grandma!!! Lol.
Chia I am not losing any either…doing just the same as you, eating all the foods…I am not worried, but will be if it continues….Are you exercising? I haven’t done a lot…so that probably hasn’t helped. But like you I have to go to the loo several times during the night…that should count as exercise!!! Lol! But it more likely stops us from losing weight!!! And I see Ossie has pointed that out to you! I have never slept well since childhood, and last week I had a sleep test done..the results of that might give me some clues as to why. You mentioned Bonar who wrote hymns…His name is Horatius Bonar and he wrote a couple of beautiful old hymns that are in our song book at church. I just read your run-down of a typical day for you…pretty similar to mine without the steps and voluntary work..and I am 10 years younger! I have a bad back and neck, with degeneration in my lower back, shoulders, and tendonitis in my feet, as well as a bad foot! I have had some accidents that have caused all the problems. Just makes it harder for me to get the exercise in.
Rebeccadors glad to hear you are enjoying the cruise so much…sounds like you have your life organised well…good on you love.
WElcome onboard Sharongrubbs…hope it all works out for you love….
Pollyann…I have the same question…why is it we can’t see the pages between page 3 and the last 3 pages???? Ossie do you know?
Lastly….where are you Annaleeramos….are you okay love?
Anyway, our bright little night-owl has finally gone to bed….and I am about to check out FB, then get on with my day!!! Happy sailing everyone….

MemberAnd “no” Jackiee, I didn’t get a good “blether” in with the locals on my walk…just several “hellos”…all too busy to be “blethering about” I guess!!

MemberHello to all!! I’ve been reading all of your wonderful and encouraging thoughts daily. I’m a bit lax in writing so bear with me. I’m on my second week now and truly enjoy it. I just weighed yesterday so I can get a good read. I weighed on my old scale and not sure how accurate it was. SO, my starting weight will be yesterday’s. I will weigh again next Tues. My husband has not complained at all about what we are eating. He knows better! 🙂
I hope all of you who are just starting will not give up and give it a good try. I feel I have more energy which I need. I too am basically a couch potato. I go exercise twice a week at our fitness center with other older people. The program is called Silver Sneakers. Another day I do the yoga, pilates class and walk on the tread mill. Seabourne, thanks for all the kind words you give us all. Ossie, thanks for your support, Jackie love your comments. Too all I can’t encourage you enough to hang in there.January 17, 2013 at 4:05 am #6451annaleeramos
MemberHey Seaborn. Congratulation on your walk. Good morning to you and all of you on the other side of the world. Sorry I have not been posting as much as I used to. I am still full from dinner so I think I will forgo the snack tonight. It has been really cold out her in Fort Worth TX. It even snowed a bit yesterday. It is a bit unusual for this part of the world, and we have seen it a few times this year. Haha. We normally only see snow once every two to three years… I am sitting here tonight watching Legendary. I watched Broken Hill this weekend and to my surprise it was filmed in Australia. What a beautiful place. I hope to see it one day, and maybe stop by for a chat with my good friend Bev. Woohoo. I will take you out dancing and we will burn up the calories together. My fiancée is a cowboy so I hope you don’t mind Country music and line dancing. I truly hope I put a smile on your face tonight Bev. Keep up the good work. I will be sure to bring some comfy shoes for you to dance in love. Say hello to your huby for me and my huby said to tell all the gals on this page that we are all beautiful already, And that all this work we are doing is just to make us shine that much more.

MemberHi annamarieramos. How neat to find out one of my cohorts in the trim down club lives in my vicinity. I live on the east side of Dallas in Royse City. Good to see your posts again. Ginger

MemberHey Anna….so good to see you again love…glad all is okay. We could go to Broken Hill together! Even I haven’t been there yet…planning it for our retirement while I drag poor Bill all over the country!!! Hehe….so your man is a cowboy hey? I love country music Anna…line dancing? It’s been a long time since I have been in that kind of lifestyle!!! Been thinking of joining line dancing here for the exercise! I used to work on an island resort out in the Whitsunday Islands (Qld) and we used to do a line dance there to a song called the Sugar Shack (which was also the name of the rooms I shared with some other girls)!!! 1969 was a long time ago!!!
That is exciting…Ginnerlou and you living so close. I just googled both places. Hey Ginnerlou, is that a bridge or causeway between Royse City and Dallas? Whatever it is, it must be a lovely drive…well, I would love it! I didn’t realise Fort Worth was so big…I am not a city girl…couldn’t live in those places!!! LOL….
Find you all on the waves again later…sleep tight all you lot who are catching up to us here in Aussie…hehe!January 17, 2013 at 5:44 am #6456ginnerlou
MemberBev, it is a bridge across a man made lake and the drive coming back home is beautiful at night with the lights reflecting off the water. I live a ways from Dallas and our little town doest even have a stop light. Only 4 way stop signs! Have to grocery shop in the town on the lake and don’t go into big D (Dallas) unless it’s necessary. I though my picture I have on Facebook would come across on this site but it doesn’t and I can’t get one to download from my photo album. I will keep trying tho. You can friend me if you get on Facebook. Ginger Pieratt Johnson is my name. Off to bed now as it’s almost twelve and I was really trying my best to get there at least by 10:30! I’m a night owl for sure but I get about 7 hours sleep so that’s good. Have a great day

MemberGood Morning all ;-D had a lovely sleep and just a quick post!
Anna,:-D awww its so good to see you, missed you so much on here, but with 3 kids and a lovely husband I can imagine your time is precious. Hope your keeping postive with your healthy eating and excercise too. We’re waiting for snow here today, hope there wrong last year was a nightmare, enough snow to last a few years at least.
Morning Seaborn,;D I know your name is Bev but Seaborn makes you sound more like a cheery captian, helping keep all afloat
Mary Ellen, hope you feel better soon but WELL done on your Reps, everyone counts. So glad your enjoying the eating program.
Ginnerlou, love the sound of the silversneakers club. I do yoga with my wee girl (well if that’s what you can call it, most of the time I’m rolling about laughing). I had the same problem with downloading a photo from the computer, so I had to register with gravtar. There’s a link on the part where you’ve been trying to down load your picture on here, good luck hope to see you soon ;-D
Hi Everyone else hope you all doing well and still enjoying the healthy eating cruise. Right better get going chase my wee one in her clothes and get to nursery, it’s a daily struggle because she wants to stay home and play with me!!! (probably because I’m so daft!!!) Anyway told her she needs to go as she can’t walk as fast as me. Thats her now running round the flat now shouting I’m faster, I’m faster. Have a fun happy healthy day all 😀
