MemberHi Kelz1973 – Melted here too – 44 degrees in Murray Bridge. Cool change due tonight. Hard to imagine those who can’t go outside because it is too cold.

MemberSeaborn – It certainly is a small world. I too am dropping the weight to keep up with my grandchildren. However, my main aim is to get really fit to compete in the Cancer Survivors Dragon Boat World Cup Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in October 2013. I am in remission from both ovarian and breast cancer.
We have a dragon boat team in Murray Bridge called the Pink Victory River Dragons. Part of our aim is to raise cancer awareness as well as get fit and compete. It is a fun group who are all quite mad.

MemberHi Folks,
sorry Ive not been about much, Im still reading all the posts and it great to hear that most are doing so well on our cruise. Welcome to all the folk Ive not said hello to yet. Helloooo and good luck x. Ive been so busy sorting out years of junk that Ive not been following the plan at all yet really. Still only eating 2 slices of toast most days although I did manage some pasta a few days ago. At least the bread is not white anymore and its butter now. Ive sorted everything out now so at least have time to post in here today. I don’t think ill really be able to get with the plan until I move and get into a routine but Im still reading everything and learning about all the good foods to eat. I think it will be easier once I move as Ill have more choices for shopping, here Ive only got a Tescos express unless I drive a distance. I havent had my camera out for ages now and am feeling withdrawal symptoms from that, Ive packed away a lot of my equipment leaving me just a basic kit to play with but Im going to try and get out for a few hours at the weekend. Im trying to save all my pennies to buy new furniture as none of the stuff i have now will fit into my new flat so it will have to be a freebie day out somewhere. OK enough rambling from me, keep up the good work everyone xxxJanuary 17, 2013 at 10:34 am #6471jackiee
MemberHi All, well I done my walk, and it is getting cold enough here now for snow but I don’t think it will amount to anything. I was the only one on a walk this morning. I managed to wave to lots of people in there cars or at their windows, but no blethering! I don’t envy you all down under Seaborn, Kelz and r2b2, I welt in the heat but hopefully I’ll be more trim this summer. I assume your be experimenting with all the salad options, while I’m trying the soup options. However I must admit I prefer cooler weather to the full heat of summer.
Wow R2b2, the Cancer Survivors Dragon Boat World Cup Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in October 2013, so proud to know someone taking up this challenge. I’m routing for you here in italy, such a great cause. My mum is a breast cancer surviver (16years now) 😀 although she has suffered the lose of two children to different cancers (my siblings)My brother aged 46 and my sisters aged 3. Its a such a cruel disease but it’s the most wonderful news when someone fights it so bravely and gets into remission. So go on Pink Victory River Dragons, I’m routing for you all all the way. (p.s. daft question but are you all sailing or rowing the boat? 🙂

MemberYes its salad here. And i have tried a couple options
I certainly welt in the heat too.. Not a big fan of summer at all.
For me its bad enough in the day but when the nights are hot and its hard to sleep I have no energy the next day.
But i will get there and a cool change is coming so hopefully i can sleep.

MemberHi all…was a good day today….got my walk in, got our car back, was at the doctor and had my blood pressure checked and it was just right…it has been for pretty high for a couple of years…yay!!! I am sure it is what I am eating!!! Can’t be much else. Next is a blood test, to check my irons and cholesterol…they are both normally good.
Morning Jackiee love…Seaborn is my maiden name, and I think I wanted Seaborngirl, but it was taken if I remember right! Might try that one again. No girls in my family, only 4 big brothers! But it is funny how a surname can suit that family….we all loved the sea, and fishing, boating, etc. Don’t know about the ship’s captain and keeping you all afloat love….haha! I would probably sink you all! Mind you, with all this blubber, I would probably then be able to keep you all afloat!!! Hawhawhaw…sorry, laughing at my cartoon that conjured up in my mind!!
Kelz1973, good to know where you are. You and r2b2 are not too far from eachother then….r2b2, those Dragon Boat championships sound like a challenge…good on you mate…sounds like it is a lot of fun, and definately for a good cause. I have a young Kiwi friend living in Russia and he and his wife also compete in them, and do well apparently! He might be there too! Amazing.Apart from all that, I do hope you stay in remission.
It is hard to imagine all our saining mates not wanting to go outside because it is so cold…and here we are having fires all over the place from the heat…we loved driving down the Newell Highway to our daughter in Albury…it will be very different next trip we do, esp around Coonabarabran…lovely area.
Ginnerlou…I tried to find you on FB, but can’t…maybe your settings are set so it is hard for someone to find you. Anyway, you can find me if you want…just look for Bev Miskin.
Anyway, I need to go…got to spend some time with my man…he is exhausted from all the stress going on in his job…been lots of changes!
Goodnight everyone…look forward to reading all the comments in the morning…they keep me motivated to continue sailing with you all!January 17, 2013 at 10:50 am #6475jackiee
Memberlol, your keep me laughing Seaborn. Go give your man a wee massage help relax him! Goodnight and sweets dreams.

MemberHi Dawn…good to read how things are going with you. Yes, you won’t have time to focus on the plan with all that going on….big job! You need to take a break and do what you love doing! I took some photos down at the river here this morning…not happy, cause all the trees have grown so much you can hardly seen the boats out on the river…spoilt it a bit really!
Anyway, all the best with the job you are doing, and finding some nice furniture for the new flat! That’s always fun! Cheers.January 17, 2013 at 10:56 am #6477Seaborngirl
MemberOh thanks Jackiee…yes it seems to be a trait in my family…making people laugh! But I do have a serious side, and am very passionate about some things, as my family know!!! Have a good day in Italy love….

Memberjust a quick question would it be ok to swap chickpeas for haricot beans sometimes. I’m getting a bit tired of green beans and haricot beans give me a bit of bother? when looking at the change options I only get parsnips, which I would love but they don’t sell parsnip here.

MemberGot weighed this morning and 1.5 lbs off. I;m pleased with this as I only have a few pounds to go to reach my goal. The last few pounds always seem to take forever. This time when I reach goal I’m determined not to put the weight back on again. That’s why I think the support from you guys is so great. I couldn’t do it on my own.
I’ve been shopping and found most of the foodstuff I needed locally.
I unticked a lot of the boxes in my menu planner and now have a menu I can live with. Here’s to the next week – ‘slowly, slowly, catchee monkey’ as they say. A step at a time. Good luck to all my friends on the cruise ship. Together we’ll get there.January 17, 2013 at 4:38 pm #6502CHIA
