MemberHi! I just started today. I am 18 years old. I workout and run 7 miles a day. I can’t get the weight off. Also, because I am so busy, I find the menue meals too time consuming. Any quick and easy breakfast and lunch ideas?

MemberKelz1973 – Lovely to see your photo. Great to get that shopping sorted. Makes it easier to prepare meals. Did you find the SWG bread. I cannot get it anywhere. I asked at 3 places when I went to Adelaide last week. Everyone just looked at me strange. I notice that one of the others posted a website for UK – wonder if there is one for Australia.
Seaborn. I hope you enjoy walking the boys to school. My little grandsons have to be driven to school due to the distance. I am so lucky though because they live across a paddock and quite often come over for sleepovers. We go for walks around the adjacent wetland and to the playground. It is certainly a special time in our lives to be able to share with them.
I hope your garden building is going well. I am also building as my husband is too frail. I am building a huge shade house which is actually an outdoor room – my friend calls “the palace”. We will have breakfast out there most of the year. Can’t wait to finish it.
WELCOME to all the new passengers on our cruise.January 19, 2013 at 9:10 pm #6767r2b2
Memberannaleeramos – Congratulations – that is amazing. Will have to try that omelet – it sounds yummy.
I have eaten most of these foods for years but I think the difference is the snacks to keep your metabolism fired.January 19, 2013 at 11:13 pm #6774Justjan
MemberHello ladies, I’m Jan from North Queensland, Australia. I am 63, casual worker at a Prison and can not take food of choose in too often. This will be a chalenge. Started the program on the 18th Jan, dropped 1 kg mid week and back to start weight today Sun 20th. Hopefully I will smile again next weekend.

MemberGood evening (Saturday) all, well it is here. Love reading all the posts tonight, help me wind down from the day. Hi Jan, welcome aboard, don’t worry about the kilo, I lost weight, put it back on the lost it again all in the one week. Keep at it, it a great energy booster too, why don’t you take your menu planner into the prison kitchen, ask if they have the healthy option if no why not, you hard working staff need healthy eating served up π ….Norunyan, glad your on board, your need to adjust your personnel menu planner to you own needs but if you have any problems, post something on here or contact Trim Down Club for help, Ossie (one of the Trim Down Club Nutritionist regularly replies to questions on here and other are great at helping too….Premanj pleased your aboard too, all I can recommend is you too adjust your menu planner to things that are easier for you. I have porridge as a breakfast options and love it, as it’s easy and I can add nuts etc. I also do a lot of bulk cooking to help during the week to make it easy to get lunch together quick…..Lpayne – 2lbs is great if you ask me, we are all different and will lose at different rates, some slow and some fast depending on how much we all weigh and have to lose…I personally think slowly is better as more chance of it staying off then…good luck to you all.
Kelz, glad your slowly moving away from white bread, wish my man would. Hope your wraps turn out to be more fulfilling that the ones you were having already made up. Good luck on embarking on your second week. I’m like rye crispbreads now too Seaborn, so easy to get ready with half a banana or lightly spread cheese for a snack ect
I have the same problem cntwall with the green beans\haricot\parsnip option but I either mix them with one of the free veggies (listed at the end of the menu planner) or just change for another veg. Might not be giving you your correct ratio of veg as the meal planner is designed too but better than leaving it out. How are you getting on with your meal planner Chai?
All you cruisers in UK, Brrrrr, hope you are all wrapping up warm there, thinking of you all. Snow can be very picaresque but its also a nightmare getting about in. I’m wondering if you have now booked up to go awayagain4 next year to Spain all ready! Rebeccadors, just think how much calories you burned clearing all that snow, well done. Hope you have fun when your lad comes back tomorrow too. Have you haven’t got much time to go before your move Dawnrosie? It must be a nightmare especially with the deposit, soooo expensive in London area, Did you manage to get out with you camera anywhere today then? Thinking of you and hope it gets easier soon.
Routing for you to reach your goal before summer Radisson, R2b2 you sure are a lady of many talents, your Palace sounds wonderful, hope you get if finished soon. I did see someone post information about swg etc for Aussies but can’t remember now. (sorry)
WOW Annaleeramos, way to go girl, that a great achievement, so chuffed for you. Just think turning the soil will also go towards your exercise plan too. Keep up the great healthy living π I too have tried encourage veggies etc with my little girl, she hates soup but everyone is amazed at how she loves her raw carrots, fennel and red peppers. Cheeky little monkey stole my red pepper lunch potion I had put aside in the fridge today, I nearly never noticed until I heard a strange noise. I look round at the sofa and there she is using the last piece, like a pen, drawing on the walls (white may I add), now I know you can’t get on to a kids for eating veggies but I sure gave her a wee lecture either way π
Seaborn I think its great your grandsons are going to school now, you much be so pleased, but what a dilemia with your granddaughter also starting, shame it wasn’t different times. Hope you manage to get all your meals, snacks fitted in today but can understand how easy it is to miss a sitting with all this food. My minds a frazzle constantly trying to find time to do other stuff in between eating….Oh and thanks for making me smile, just thinking of you and your family out during the night to have fun in the snow, did anyone make a snow angel? π
Well, I had to replace my afternoon snack as we were at a little girls birthday party today, I had 1\2 wrap with cheese salad and NO CAKE π ( I didn’t have cake because I don’t like cream and it was covered in cream!!! so don’t start thinking I done well)
Hope everyone else is ok on the cruise, think of you all and routing for you all, take care and Goodnight, or Morning or Afternoon whereever you are π

MemberThanks for the responses Seaborn and Jackiee. I will have to try that with subbing the free veggies for the green beans. My husband has another question for Ossie or anyone. Will it hurt to skip the last snack of the day if we don’t feel hungry? We tend to not eat until 630p and don’t like to eat right before bed and we go to bed around 10p I was always told its not good to eat 3 hrs before bedtime. Is that still true?

MemberGood news and not so good news. THE GOOD NEWS: I had a blood test this morning to see if I am dehydrated and I’m not, at least at this time. THE NOT SO GOOD NEWS: The terrible cramps and pains in my legs and feet are probably from my back. I’m thankful though, that I am not dehydrated π Going to bed now. Just got home from our University of Iowa men’s basketball game and we won. YEA! We played Wisconsin. Getting up early for church tomorrow morning. We drive an hour one way to our church. It’s worth it though. π

MemberYeh Jackiee it will be good. Although it wasnt too bad at the work cafe as we have a salad bar and you could make your own. Although with some of the mixed salads I wasnt always sure what dressings were on it.
I had a wrap today for lunch. It was a chia seed wrap and I filled it with salad vegees.
I only lost a small amount the first week about 1 pound but I am not too disappointed cos things are new to me and I still need to add more exercise to my weekly regime.
I did a little last week ut just need to mix it up a bit,

MemberGood morning fellow cruisers
The UK is still very cold. Yesterday’s snow has frozen and the side roads are a sheet of ice.
Wow, Jackiee. How do you find the time to write all that stuff? I’m so impressed. I don’t know about booking for Spain for next year – we could be off this year if this weather continues. We have our own little snow angel. Our puppy came back from his walk this morning covered in snow – he likes to roll – and his snowy beard made him look like an advert for Santa Claus.
Looking back over the past two weeks I feel so glad that I decided to fork out for organic food. I feel good knowing that I’m doing my body a real favour.
My menu, after a lot of tweaking, is working out fine. I have porridge for breakfast with a little organic low fat yogurt and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I’m not finding wholegrain bread too much of a tooth breaker as I tend to dunk it in homemade soup for lunch. I quite like rye crispbreads as a snack spread with a little low fat cream cheese. I’ve also started to include a small helping of nuts into my diet. I have no problem with fruit and veg as I’ve always had my five a day.
Kelz1973, 1 pound weight loss is good. Depending on how much weight you have to lose 1-2 pounds a week is the recommended weight loss.
A little bird told me we might be having a family wedding this year. That’s a good incentive to lose weight and should help to keep me focussed.
Have a good day shipmates and may God go with you.

MemberThanks awayagain4. In total i have about 45pounds to lose but a s,ow and steady loss is better than rushing it. More of a chance to keep it off.

MemberReally pleased, another 2lb lost, that’s my first half a stone gone.

MemberHi there all you cruisin’ buddies….well so much has been happening without me again….I had to grab a speed boat to catch up to you!!!
Welcome to all the newbies! Great to have you on board with us!
Anna…so good to hear another pound off…good on you love.I agree, it so good to have someone put all the food we need together…I never know what to do with it either Anna! I have learned a lot in a couple of weeks, and have so much more to learn about food combinations! As I have said before, I hate preparing food! There are other things I would prefer to be doing!!!
Raddison, all the best with the weight loss…I too am on 2 blood pressure tabs a day, and a cholesterol…but I had my blood pressure checked the other day, and it was normal for the first time in a few years,(Yay) and my cholesterol has been fine for sometime (yay).I am hoping to get to a point where I don’t need the meds anymore.
Rebeccadors….have a wonderful time with you son love…been thinking of you and Dawn and Awayagain4 and the others in the UK with all that cold weather…I pray it doesn’t turn ugly for you all.
R2b2…I haven’t asked about SWG bread up here….maybe I should and see what reactions I get too! Boy, you are on the ball girl, building your “palace” yourself…I am not the one doing the gardening here…my husband does that! I have degeneration in the lowerback/hips, and damaged my back a few times, so upper and lower are not good, and I have also been told I have arthritis in my shoulders! I used to help with all the big heavy jobs out in the yard, pruning, shifting dirt, etc, until about 3 years ago. I just can’t handle those jobs anymore. I used to shift my furniture every 3 months to have a good clean out, but can’t do that anymore either! VERY frustrating…so much I want to do, and so much needs to be done! Ah well…I used to go out and clean people’s houses for them once, when I didn’t have work…I think I need someone to do mine now!!! Haha…don’t seem to be any good fairies around here!
I won’t be walking the two boys who are starting school this year to school…they will be driven there R2b2…they are on a property. I am just driving down the highway early in the morn so I can go to the school with them and Mum and Dad for their first day. They probably won’t even notice me, but I don’t care…just want to show my support! The little grandaughter and her brother in town just live around the corner from us, so I will be walking to school with them and my daughter most mornings. So nice R2b2 having the kids so close hey? The other daughter and husband have their property on the market….so we are hoping it won’t be much longer before they can move back to town, but that will mean the two boys will have to change schools!
Hi Justjan from North Queensland….where are you up there? I am a Cairns/Cooktown girl…my rellies are all around Mission Beach, Tully, Townsville and Cairns areas! Sounds like it will tough with the work/food situation…hope it all goes well for you.Jackiee’s idea is a good one….maybe it will work for you.
Jackiee….love the pics of your family…your little girl is gorgeous.Yes, I am pleased for the boys Jack…but I am concerned for my girl…she will not know what to do with herself once her life is back to normal…she is not allowed to drive much because of her back condition. She is a brilliant dressmaker, paints and cooks, but her back is too bad to do too much of that at once. I know she will find a way through it all, but she has enjoyed teaching the boys, and will miss it. Never mind, it is all part of life! We just have to go with the flow sometimes!!!
Hope it is all going well for you cntwall!
Chia…I kept thinking you were in the UK for some reason! Glad you found out what was causing those cramps…glad you are not dehydrated too!!! Look after yourself mate. An hour to church!!! We drive 5 minutes!!! I visited a family on a station out at Winton in Central Queensland once…they drove into Winton 3 times a week for 30 odd years over 60 miles of very rough dirt roads! They only missed Sunday at church if there were floods or sickness. I am not sure if I would have done that, but I have a great deal of respect for them.Hope church was lovely for you…mine was.
Well, must be off to bed….congratulations to all of you who have lost some more weight over the past couple of days. I didnt’t get to eat properly today again…tomorrow things will be back to normal again with my husband back at work…lol…Hope you all have a pleasant day, night on board our fabulous cruise…haha at least we don’t get seasick on this one!!!January 20, 2013 at 2:54 pm #6808easymate

MemberThank you R2B2, Jackiee, and Bev. Welcome to all of the Newbies. So happy to see all the new names. Jackiee, Thank you for adding me to your Facebook. I accepted you yesterday. Gingerlou and Bev, I went ahead and added the two of you on Facebook. Jackiee, your little one is so cute, and im sorry to hear about her eating your snack and using the last piece as a pencil on your white wall. You have to admit. Thinking about your little cheekie monkey, That was just too cute. LOL. I hope the white wall is doing well.
Rebeccadors, congratulations on your lose. What a great accomplishment for you. It feels good to see the few pound going. I told my fiancΓ©e the other that I have been losing weight, and he asked me where it went. LOL I told Him that all of use on the Trim Down Club that have lost weight really aren’t too worried about where it has gone, just as long as it stays gone. Haha… Have a great day every one. I am off to church. Love you all and take care.
