Memberhaha Jackiee….yes we will be out in the rain tomorrow…well the boys and Grandma anyway….I am still a big kid, so I might just get the sunlight soap cakes out. I reckon the rain will stop overnight though….
As for the baking…yeah they love to bake, esp the 9 year old Ben…Jayvan made lasagne for dinner last night apparently. But I went shopping with a list of stuff for my recipes and can’t get them around here…there is a health shop in Gladstone, so I will have to check them out next time I am in there. The two boys are very good kids…I don’t take any nonsense though…they know if I tell them I will stop the car and make them walk home I will do it!!! Hahah…only because they know I did it to their Mum and Tara because they were fighting while I was trying to drive!!!! It is a bit of a joke in our family…
Anyway…goodnight everyone…set your faces to the wind and sail on….January 25, 2013 at 10:23 am #7289jackiee

MemberWeighed myself today and no weight loss but at least I haven’t put any on. I knew this was going to be a hard slog. I’ve only ever been able to count my weight loss 1/2 – 2 lbs per week. Got to keep positive – I can do this.
Good luck to all my fellow cruisers. I hope the scales are kind!

MemberHi Ossie,
Thanks for the info for my husband to join me on your diet. You say a man needs larger portions but can you suggest what percentage more. My husband is 6ft and currently weighs 267lbs. He needs to shed weight following a heart bypass operation four years ago. Any advice please.
Also just to let any UK newbies know, we have managed to purchase SWG bread from Amazon.co.uk (free delivery).
We are now all shopped out and ready to start in earnest on Monday.January 25, 2013 at 3:55 pm #7301awayagain4
MemberThank you Jackiee. I need all the support I can get – don’t we all!

MemberOssie, I’m Italian. How can you make just one portion of pasta?…LOL…It’s either a whole pound or more. At least I did not have seconds….LOL

MemberQuestion….can you exchange the flours in a recipe? For example – quinoa for almond or brown rice flour? Not a fan of the quinoa. Have made quite a few of the recipes and both my husband and I like them. He loves the egg salad. Jackiee, I envy you living in Italy. After I saw Under the Tuscan Sun and saw how beautiful the country side was I knew that one day I would love to visit. Bev, hope you don’t wash away! Have fun with your boys. I’ve got my little one here for the day. Hang in there all you newbies. It’s a fun sail. As my husband and I say – ” it’s not a diet, it’s a way of living!”.

MemberJackiee, my daughter lives outside of Firenze. We spent mid December to mid January there. Blew the heck out of any diet…..LOL. Beautiful place when the sun shines but the weather sucks just about any time of the year except for spring. Hot and muggy in summer and cold and damp in the winter.

MemberQuestion….My biggest problem in using this program is that I don’t intend to cook most of the menus and use most of the ingredients they list….heck, I don’t know what half of them are. Isn’t there a way using their basic guidelines as to portions to find a list of offsetting foods (Proteins and Carbs) that a person can eat throughout the day and make up menus as they go and based on what they have available. Anything that would streamline this process would be appreciated. I don’t mind eating correctly but I hate being resticted to a menu. I’d like to just grab a slice of SWG bread and a can of tuna fish if it is available for a snack….or a piece of fruit and a slice of bread….or a cup of yogurt and a banana.

MemberI am a little discouraged that my menu planner includes foods I can’t eat and many names of things I need to look up before I can eat or make them. Did make lemon cottage muffins this AM and had 2 with yogurt and tea for breakfast. It is a start and I am down a pound or 2.

MemberDid something different with our snack today. My husband said this was a great, great snack, the best one he has had. Used everything on my menu, 1 oz hard cheese, slice of swg bread and 1/2 banana. I shredded my cheese and put it on top of the bread and put it under the broiler! Cheese toast and banana. Great snack.
