MemberAhh haa. Apensa. My fiancΓ©e is also a zonie. He grew up in Arizona and bad gods change in plan ended up here in TX, I tell him that I’m glad he ended up here, other wise we would never of met. And I understand what you mean about the sex thing. LOL. I have heard that too, and my Fiancee Robert loves to joke about it. You see, he has the opposite problem we have. He needs to gain wait. Keep up the good work and taking your wife out for a nice walk to take a picnic just may help with the motivation. Robert and I have done it a few times with our back packs and come back relaxed and happy. It doesn’t even feel like exercise, but a 3 mile hike to find the perfect place seemed more like an adventure.

MemberHi, Apensa. In addition to the Food Shopping guide, the main program overview also covers the issue.

MemberHi, Chia. If you want Trim Down Club questions and answers only, try the other topics in the forums – they have a different kind of traffic, and you can probably find what you’re looking for.

MemberApensa, do give it some time, and keep experimenting with different options – eventually you will find tings that best suit you and you will get more used to the idea of a more regulated eating schedule. The settling in period is the hardest, and it can absolutely seem like there is no way it is going to work, but if you give it time, it can sneak up on you and suddenly work its way out.
Regarding exercise, any sort of uninterrupted movement for at least 30 minutes per day is just fine. You don’t have to go to the gym, you don’t have to freeze or bake outside. Even if you just walk in place during a television program, you have done something significant.
Regarding the eating, try moving your snacks to where you woodwork (in covered containers, of course!), set them in view, and set a timer to the hours where it makes most sense to eat. Eventually, you will get a rhythm going.
Regarding the foods themselves, as long as you choose mostly unprocessed, whole foods with minimal added fats and sugars, and pay attention to portions sizes, you are getting the main principles of the program.
There is no need to be perfect, and certainly not a master right away. Just try to do a little better each day or each week, and it will add up.January 27, 2013 at 4:44 am #7442Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Yvonne. What are your height and weight measurements? With that information, I can calculate how much more your husband needs.

MemberHi Ossie
Yvonne here, I am 5ft 7ins and weigh 195lbs. Can you now calculate how much more food my husband will need to lose weight.
Also – I am a great tea lover and will drink some green tea, but is there a daily allowance of milk (skimmed of course) that I can drink in ordinary tea please.
Also one other thing, does the water used to make the tea count towards the ten glasses of water a day, or are they on top of other drinks.January 27, 2013 at 1:49 pm #7468Marcia2013
Memberapensa so glad to see we are not all female. My husband of 50+ years grew up in AZ and graduated from U of A. Good luck to all of us for trying to be healthier. I’m only in this less than a week and haven’t gotten into the routine yet.

MemberHi, Yvonne. Your husband needs about 1/3 more than you.
There is no real limit of skim milk in tea, assume you don’t add many more full cups of milk to your menu each day.
Green tea does count as part of your fluids, but only half the value of water (there are other advantages to green tea, but it is a diuretic).January 27, 2013 at 10:25 pm #7516jackiee
MemberEvening all, how are you all getting on?
I’ve had a lovely Sunday, even got a walk in. I’ve just watched a ‘walking diet’ by Joanna Hall interesting techniques that I’m going to try tomorrow.
Had Kedgeree for sunday lunch today, not from the recipes here but had most my allowance things so thought it a nice change, I made it with rice, cod fish, peas and boiled egg. I shocked myslef as the last time I cooked this was about30 ago at high school. It was a hit with my hubby but I got the thumbs down from my 3 year old because it had green things in it!!! this from a girl that loves raw peppers, carrot and fennel. π
Happy Australia Day to everyone in that part of the world. Hope everythings ok with you all and that the rain isn’t cause you any real problems.
Happy healthy day to everyone else too. Night night from Italy. πJanuary 27, 2013 at 10:31 pm #7517TONYANNIE
MemberHi all I am brand new. Silly question, on the daily menu are you supposed to eat everything they list for every meal
January 27, 2013 at 10:37 pm #7519jackiee
MemberHi Tonyannie, the answer is ‘yes’ and it’s not a silly questions, it actually a popual question. Good luck in fitting it all in. Welcome on boards, any other questions just ask away someone will always give you advice as best possible. π

MemberSo here is to hopefully finding the right plan. Losing weight is an added benefit for me, but my main goal is to become a healthy person. I am 37 and mother of 2. Diabetes runs in my family, and I have high blood pressure as a result of a genetic kidney disease. I know the kinds of food we eat are directly correlated to many health problems. I have tried many different plans and have done the yo-yo thing. It is time to really learn about nutrition and make this work!! I had my first shopping trip today sans the normal preservative packed, over artificially sweetened foods I would usually choose! Bring on the menu!!! π

MemberHi Druimveld, please to see another on board, hope you have fun with the menu and that you feel the benefits of this program soon. My energy levels have been great since starting. Good Luck

MemberApensa, I reviewed the sample meals you posted for “honest critique”, and it looks quite good. The only thing I might suggest is that if you love “fried in butter” maybe just go half-and-half butter and a better oil. Macadamia nut oil has a butter-like hint (but is expensive) and of course organic canola is taste-less. That could make a difference.
