I just joined today. But plan on trying this. I have tried several others and stick to it for a while and then get tired of counting, whether it is calories, fat grams, or points. We don’t get grass fed beef where I live. They do sell some organic chicken and eggs though. I love all seafood, but my husband wants it fried only. Hopefully I will be able to follow the guidelines. I don’t really plan to start until next week because of helping son move and having to travel and eat on the road. But I am looking forward to it and will start with avoiding the 10 foods listed.

Thanks you Ossie for your input on the flours. I appreciate it. To all the newbies – welcome Don’t be too overwhelmed by everything. It will become easier to understand as the weeks go by. My start date was Jan 9 so I’m still learning too. Haven’t heard from Seaborn, hope all is well with them. Scary to think of 40 inches of rain in 24 hr period. Bet she feels like Noah! My menu this week consistes of 7 new recipes! Wow! Trying the enchiladas, oat pancakes, breakfast pizza, butternut squash clafouti dessert, basic omelette, black bean swg burrito pockets, and I have the beef stew in the crock now. Hope to find the swg tortillas when I shop. Going to Whole Foods tomorrow. Oh, by the way lost 2.2 lbs this past week! Going is slow but I’m not complaining at all. I know I have lost inches because my jeans are loose in the thigh area. Does anyone have a probllem with constipation (what a question to ask in mixed company)? I’m drinking my water and eating all the healthy grains. Could be the meds I’m taking. See you at the next port of call

Good evening all, or afternoon, morning, Good to see so many newbies coming on board, good luck Athleen, Savedbygrace, pyampol & anitamariep. Pyampol, I too had a problem with items available but if you just select whats available to you on your menu planner and then just add more stuff, if and when you source them. How did you get on eating everything on your menu antiamariep.
r2b2, glad you managed some dragon boat paddling, it all counts. Sounds like you had a fun weekend, and ppleased that your weren’t affect by rain.
Well done Norunyan with the weight loss and great to hear your sugar levels are down too.
Looks like your be busy with you recipes this week Ginnerlou, await your opinion on the recipes.
Hope your grandsons start school ok today Seaborn and that your internet connection stays on now.
Hope you enjoy your egg in butter\olive oil now Apensa. I now half poach my egg in a little water with a drizzle of olive oil, which my daughter prefers so we all have them cooked like that now. I’m
of to do my shopping list from my new menu, then get to bed, night all, happy healthy eating all.

    Saved,
Whre did you find those 10 foods to avoid? And, I know somewhere there is an entire list of foods not attached to a particular recipe or menu. Where are they. I guess I’m dense but I am having a heck of a time navigating through the web site.

I just started this program and would like to know if you can have popcorn?

Liberated, you are asking the same question I have been wondering about. Somewhere there is a list of “approved” and no no’s, but I can’t find it. I’m waiting for a response from someone. In the meantime, WELCOME. I hope you find some good assistance in your quest, whatever that might be. I am on a quest to find the holy grail of dieting. That ellusive elixer that will melt away blubber fat around one’s middle.

I´m new too. I’ve stopped gaining weight and for the last month I’ve been stable. Now it’s time to go the weight back down. I know diets don’t work for me, and I´m not a fan of vegetables. I need help with menus to improve my nutrition and my eating habits. I’ve just tried the Cashew Chicken Wraps and that was great. I’m looking forward to see what works for other people.
I wondered if the Ezekiel 4:9 bread qualifies as SWG. It will probably take awhile to find raw dairy products. Also,I am concerned about the amount of water that is recommended. I have epilepsy and on one diet I drank too much water and washed out my medication.

Jackiee, made the beef stew in the crock this evening and my husband says it’s the best thing he’s eaten on Trim Down. Maybe because all we have eaten has been chicken for 3 weeks! It is very tasty though. Didn’t think 2 cups was going to be enough but boy am I stuffed. Billylynn, I use the Ezekiel bread and it is a sprouted whole grain bread so I’m going on that. We love it toasted. Well I’m off here now and will post when we try another recipe. Night all.

Liborated, I finally found that list of OK foods. It is part of the download titled Food Shopping the Proper Way. It is on the last pages. At least that will give you an idea of “approved” foods….but heck, you are a grown up….eat what you want…..LOL. Here is a question for anyone that has an answer. Why are pears and pistachio nuts not on the list?

apensa: Pears and Pistachio nuts are on the menu. Go to a menu that has some kind of nut on it and click the little icon at the right of it and it will bring up other kinds of nuts you can replace it with. The same with fruit. Go to one of your fruits and click on the icon at the right of it and it brings up other fruits that you can have. Have fun 🙂

OSSIE; I accidently came across a flourless Honey Almond Cake. Here is the website. Just wondering if this is okay to eat on this diet, or not?

apensa: there are 2 tiny arrows in a circle to the right of each food. Click on that circle of 2 arrows and it will bring up a list of substitutes.
