MemberJust joined. Got most of the ingredients with one or exceptions, mainly US products (site seems very US based).
I have no idea if I can do this and panicking slightly. Gave a wide spectrum of things I could eat and the first dinner they’ve suggested is below. It sounds as dry, tasteless and unappetising as the Sahara Desert.
Can’t imagine what my husband and family will say if I put this down to them and I’ve no intention of cooking different meals for myself.
Not sure about this programme at all.1 cup of Steamed Vegetables
6 ounces of Low-Fat Yogurt, 2%
1 cup of Barley (Cooked)
3 ounces of SalmonJanuary 29, 2013 at 10:08 pm #7780sperko
MemberI have been on this diet for one week and I notice you get a lot to eat. Sometimes I am stuffed. My question is do you have to eat the whole meal or a snack when you feel full?

MemberI’ve decided to have some Mahi Mahi tonight (fish, Dorado, Dolphin). Is there a way to find a matching menu that will compliment the fish and keep within the boundries of the program? I was thinking of having Knorr Cajun Sides Red Beans and Rice…yes, it is an off the shelf product. It has 320 Calories per serving, 40 from fat, 1g Saturated Fat, 540mg sodium. those are the only questionable items in the ingredience that I see. I also plan to have fresh vegies (carrot, colliflower, broccoli and bell pepper roasted in the oven. Looking for comments or suggestions. The fish will be pan fried in olive oil with a garlic and caper sauce (olive oil base).

MemberWell thats my weigh in done and another 1\2 kilos down, I know it’s not much for a week but if I keep going like this I’ll be smiling in my bathingsuit this summer instead of hiding under a towel 🙂
Apensa, maybe it was the vodka that done the weight gain but I bet it was well worth it. I only do a weigh in once a week now as didn’t like the yoyoing scales everyday.
Birdie, remember pack your healthy snacks as well as your lunch so your not tempted by sugar snacks at work….the extra food bill is well worth the sacrifice and I have found I save some from not buying rubbish too.Hows everyone else doing? in Australia, America, UK and any other country I might have missed? think of you all and hoping your staying motivated on your own plan

MemberHi Apensa,
That sounds yummy…what time is dinner?!!!Sperko, I think most of us have posted that same question! It does seem like a lot of food, if you can’t finish a meal then make sure you eat your veggies (not to sound like your mom!) and grains if you have to cut back let it be on whatever the fat is for that meal. It is okay to make your snack portion smaller, but unless you are just miserable, try not to skip them. This way you will keep stoking the fires of your metablolism.
Scotlandnell, have you used the little refresh button to the side of each of your menu choices? You can go in and change out just one item or redo the entire meal if you want to. So far the salmon and maybe some steamed broccoli sounds good to me and would plate nice 🙂 I might change out the other two ingredients though.
Let us know what you come up with….Doryss

MemberNever heard of Mahi Mahi before Apensa, but your dinner tonight sounds delizioso, I hope Ossie will be on soon to give you a nutrionist opinion. 🙂

MemberScotlandnell, agree with Doryssb and get hitting that refresh button to find options.
I personnal would
keep the 1 cup of Steamed Vegetables
6 ounces of Low-Fat Yogurt, 2% – this could be swap for 1\4 of ricotta cheese 0-2%
1 cup of Barley (Cooked) -can be swapped for brown rice pasta
3 ounces of Salmon – this can be swap for nearly any fish of your likingIf I had all these items after the swaps I would keep the veggies as they are. Mix the ricotta with a little hot water, to make a white cheese sauce, cook the pasta, them mix pasta, ricotta sauce and salmon (broken into flakes)together and served along side the veggies . It is a lovely dish and even my italian hubby loves this one. Good luck whatever you try.
Hope this link also helps with your shopping list too.January 29, 2013 at 11:06 pm #7790apensa
MemberI can certainly see your dilemma. If you feed your husband that tonight, don’t expect to get any later….LOL. Like they said earlier, try the refresh for other ideas. You’ve probably done that already and you can see there are lots of alternatives. Good luck.

MemberI really like this change of life. I am never hungry, always satisfied and truly feel better. I don’t have any temptations, my house is full of junk food items the rest of my family enjoys but I don’t have any desire to eat any of it. I have lost 10 pounds in 7 days and am so excited to continue on. My family all love junk food, but they have enjoyed the dishes I have been cooking for dinner. I have found on Amazon.com, that a lot of the sprouted whole grain pastas and the brown rice pastas to be less expensive than the grocery stores and health food stores in my area. Good Luck everyone, I hope you reach your goals 🙂
