MemberHi I’m new to this way of eating but I am unsure what SWG bread is ?

MemberI am new too…SWG is sprouted whole grain. I found it at Whole Foods….I am sure there are others but the brand I found is Ezekiel 4:9. You may check the frozen section at your grocer. GOOD LUCK!

MemberHi thank you for your reply, I think it’s going to be difficult to get this bread, do you know of any alternative bread that would be good to incorporate into this way of eating

MemberWell down another lb. That makes me down 4 lbs. in 2 weeks. It’s what they say should be good.Of course it seems to slow to me.That is how we all are, want everything now.
I did walk yesterday.I will be doing hospital walking today as my husband has to go for a nerve study and the hospital is a lit of long halls.
I really enjoy reading all of your posts.Have a great day.January 30, 2013 at 2:55 pm #7844jackiee
MemberAfternoon from italy, I had a lovely lunch out with my friend but didn’t have the salmon cook in vodka, so opted for mixed sea food – delicious, then was naughty and had ice-cream for desert. Hayhoo…once in a while will not hurt surely and I suppose a day after weigh in is the best time to be naughty, gives me another six days to get back on track. 😀
Like your alternative walking plan Norunyan and well done on the weight lose, slowly slowly is best if you ask me. I do hope it all goes well with your husband.Steventinesmith…there’s always alternatives….rice bread, spelt bread, 100% whole grain\wholemeal bread, organic, pumpernickel, rye bread, rye crispbread. Have you done your menu planner yet, on there just choose the breads that are available to you until you find others, than you can add through time. There’s also a refresh button after each food item, hit this and you get alternative choices for the food item. These loads useful info in the FAQ’s too, listed below. Good luck
Right I’m away to make a carnaval outfit for my wee one. Till next time 🙂January 30, 2013 at 6:27 pm #7877jackiee
MemberHELP PLEASE – anyone thats tried it can you tell me what does SWG bread looks like – I found a bread today here in italy. it looks like a brick of s*** em or maybe better say a bit like a malt loaf, dark brown and very dense. The lady explained it’s 100% wholegrain with BLAH BLAH but she seemed to be imitating that the grain opned like a flower, so I wasn’t sure if it is SWG but bought it anyway since it has no additives ect….it’s take nice but would like to now if it possible that I’ve finally found SWG bread here in Italy

MemberHi, BillyLynn. Many of the Ezekiel breads are SWG (they will say “sprouted” on the label), but even those that are not are very healthful and consistent with Trim Down Club principles.

MemberSounds like you got it, Jackiee. It probably has a lot of grain particles in it that love to get stuck in your teeth and probably has a rather sweet taste…….and is expensive….right?

MemberHi, Scot Landnell. The items in the Menu Planner are just the basic foods – by all means, add seasoning! Taking the example you gave, add lemon and spices to the salmon, cook the barley in broth (low-salt, if possible) with a bay leaf, and spray the vegetables with macadamia nut or a flavored olive oil with a mister (you’ll end up with less than a teaspoon, but it will be delicious). Those are just some ideas.

Memberlol apensa…it was sure expensive anyway and did get bits stuck in my teeth..as for sweet well if its not nutella then I can’t taste the sweetness..hehe.. but I was at a hypermarket 30minutes away from here…it would have helped if i could actually translate what ‘sprouted wheat grain’ is but me and my friend had a good try…the poor italian lady just kept nodding, she probably thought we’re nuts….another bonus is my hubby say ‘mmmm it tastes good’…wish I had bought 2 loaves now

MemberThanks apensa and jackiee for helpful suggestions. I think I really need to take time and study this programme.
Guess it’s easier when you get used to it but busy women need simple programmes.

MemberHi, Liberated. Yes, you can have popcorn. Just choose a type without undesirable additives (usually called “Natural”), and count 3 cups as one carb exchange (i.e. a slice of bread, 1/2 cup of cooked cereal or rice/pasta/potato, etc.).

MemberHi, AnitaMarie. The intention is for you too eat all the food, but if you want to move some of it to a between-meal snack, that is fine too – you can also swap out those extra portions. For example, using the meal you gave, you can swap 1/2 cup of oatmeal and 6 oz yogurt for a slice of bread and ounce of cheese to have with your fruit at 10 am or 4 pm or whenever you like your between-meal snacks. If overall the daily total is too much, you can cut back on carbs and fats, but try not to cut more than 1/4 – you don’t want to be hungry and gorge later or slow your metabolism down.
