MemberHi, VStable. Yes, you will find the foods we recommend in health-oriented stores, including large chains such as Whole Foods Market. You can also find them online. Best of luck!

MemberHi, stgeofun. Spinach is a “free” (unlimited) vegetable, and so does not need to be calculated into your menus by the Menu Planner application. When you get your weekly menu in the Menu Planner application, scroll down, and you will see a few links, one of which is to a list of free vegetables.

MemberHi, I’m Cheryl, from Erie,PA, USA. We watch BBC,the US version and there was a little blurb about our town the day the snow was coming down sideways. We do get some great winter storms. But also have a beautiful bay where we sail in the summer which of course brings us to weight gain and (gasp) the lumpy, “better wear a caftan this summer” figure. I’ve gained 18 lbs. since October and need to go down a total of 40. Whenever I even think about losing weight I gain. But I’m 57 and I love nice clothes, but I don’t look good in anything anymore. Do you look better after 2 vodkas?
Starting the diet today. Hope to give my husband the present of 5 lbs. less of me for Valentines Day.February 1, 2013 at 9:14 pm #8071jackiee
MemberEvening all from Italy, how is everyone getting on?
Welcome on board Slimasharon, Lorena, Frances and Cheryl, so glad more people are on board and best of luck reaching your own goals. Need any help just ask. Glad you found the recipe Frances, lol.
Maurac, how did your shopping trip go? find anything uselful.
LynnM, well done being at the lower end of your yoyo weight, I do hope you manage to cut the cord on that yoyo so the weight never goes back up again. Let us know how the brownies go,
Gingerlou, ouch….sorry to hear you’ve been suffering, hope you get better quick. It would be great having you or anyone from here on one of my walks then I could talk trim down stuff too, instead of trying to explain everything about trim down in italian (not very good at that even after 7 years).
😀 Seaborn….hahaha I know your a Bletherer….hope you had a good day with your daughter.
My good news…. thats now 3 times in the last 2 days I’ve been asked if I have lost weight by different people, (I know it’s only been 3 kilos but 🙂 it’s so nice when people notice.
Well folks the weekend is here, and I do wish you all a healthy eating weekend….I find the weekend a temptation because there’s always cake and stuff gets put on the table when visiting friends and family. A friend visited today but she was pleased when I put almond nuts on the table, with our cuppa tea she said there fattening, I said there are also meant to be good for helping burn fat (I counted mines out…which lead to her having a weighed portion too..) she’s now going to make sure she has nuts or fruit for when I go to her for a snack 😉 phew, that make one less house a danger zone for my weakness 😀 Have a fun weekend all.February 2, 2013 at 12:20 am #8080Seaborngirl
MemberMorning/evening all you cruising buddies….
lol…Jackiee should be tucked up in her little bed snoring at present!!! Nice to hear people are noticing your weight loss love.
It is the weekend, and if I sit here doing this and not my housework or any other more important things (in the eyes of my husband that is) I will be feeling guilty, because he is out working very hard as usual…today he is pushing the mower through the thick, long, lush, green grass that has changed the look of the east coast of our country in the past week! So nice instead of the brown it was. Anyway I better make it quick!!! Lol…
It is great to see so many doing so well with the weight coming off….keep it up…the ship needs to get lighter even if I don’t help..lol…But it just goes to show that it works, doesn’t it? I am so pleased I found this place.
BILLYLYN…I would have loved to have seen that snow coming down sideways…obviously there was a lot of wind with it!!! The rain here last week was doing the same! I laughed at your question about looking better after a couple of vodkas!!! I remember the days when I did drink alcohol (lots of it at a time) I always thought I looked better after a couple of whatevers, until one night I stood beside a lady in the toilets, and saw her in the mirror and with horror realised that I looked like her and she was well and truly over the limit…I was 20 and she was about my age now!!! heheh…I knew then I had to leave the stuff alone…but, of course I didn’t for a few more years!!! Had a few more lessons to learn yet….
I don’t think my husband is going to get a smaller me for Valentine’s Day…oh that’s right, we don’t celebrate it!!! But I hope you can give him that gift love. I might be able to give him a smaller me for his birthday in May!!! Lol.
Ginnerlou..I was wondering where you were…poor you!
I am going to stop the “blethering” that I learned from my young friend Jackiee…and probably catch up with you all on Monday! Hope all my Aussie mates are doing well…sail on, be safe, eat “well”, and be happy!!!

MemberHahha…should have read that last posting before submitting it hey? BILLYLYN I meant I hope you can give “your husband” a smaller you love…not mine!!! haha..

MemberIt’s amazing, when you get off the sugar, how the cravings go away! I’m doing well with the menu plan, however, when I’m in school (Tues.-Thurs.) it’s a little harder to make the preparations. I’ve learned to cook double of whatever I’m fixing, then the next time, I just have to warm it up! I loved my steamed veggie’s today with honey mustard dressing on it. Just one tablespoon really made them delicious! I have diabetes II, and this morning my blood levels were excellent! If nothing else works, this program will be worth it for controlling those hikes I was so guilty of having!
My name is Katie, by the way, I live in St. George, Utah. Have a great weekend, and thanks to all of you for your input!February 2, 2013 at 3:02 am #8086Marcia2013
MemberHelp! I was updating my food choices and ready to print out a new week’s menu and it went away and I can’t find where I click to return. I am so enjoying the Newbie forum. I have tried a couple recipes and also slowly getting into the routine. My weight has gone down a little. If this keeps up I will be thrilled.

MemberHi Marcia,
If you will go to Apps (at the top of the page), then go to Menu History at the bottom of that page, it should pull up the dates of the menus you have created. Click on that and it will open up a PDF.
Happy healthy eating,

MemberGood morning, evening, middle of the day to you all.
I have been very busy over the last week with planning for school with the exam season about to start and the transfer for primary to secondary beginning to get on way. With my op any time from April I have to make sure everything is in place.
I am really pleases with my self, lost 9 lb in 3 weeks, for all those people who aren’t sure, that’s more than I lost on ww, and every week I do this now is free in a sense because to join other clubs you have the joining fee and then the weekly cost. Winner all round I feel, and I feel like a true winner. Energy levels are up, enthusiasm and motivation in all areas of life are up, and I just want to do things, even been out walking with my son and with my husband.
I know need to cook some of the recipes, I have tended to stick to the printed plan, but with half term in a weeks time, I am going to cook. I work in a different county to where the children are in education, so we have different half terms this time. I had thought it a disaster, but the more I think about it the more I can have a week for me, just cooking and walking my dog across the open countryside.
I suppose this is where I am going to come a little unstuck for ingredients, but will have the time to go off and search for them on my own.
So here we go,
AND A FINAL THOUGHT TO YOU ALL, READING THE POSTS IS ONE OF THE THINGS TO SPUR ME ON, I DONT WANT TO LET MYSELF OR YOU GUYS DOWN, I WILL DO THIS, ONE STEP AT A TIME, AND I FEEL YOU HAVE MY BACK. I KNOW I ALWAYS HAVE SOMEWHERE TO GO WHEN I FEEL I CAN’T DO IT. SO THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT WE GIVE TO EVERYONEFebruary 2, 2013 at 11:02 am #8099Rebeccadors
MemberOssie, my son has just been diagnosed wheat and gluten intolerance. So I have purchased the rice flour and white flour blend to cook with. Can I substitute these into any recipes.
Does anyone know if these are a plain sort of flour or a raising sort of flour?
This probably makes me sound terrible, but I have never cooked like this beforeFebruary 2, 2013 at 12:45 pm #8104FrancesF
MemberHiAll.
Right. It’s day one of my new eating regime. I’ve just cleared the cupboard of anything unhealthy and I’m now off to do the week’s shopping. Some of the foods in my list are things I’ve never heard of… Tempeh, Amaranth, Edamame??? I’ve been searching the net to find alternatives…. Think I’m sorted now… Don’t think this is going to be easy but I like a bit of a challenge… Hope you’re all doing well… I’ll sign in again tomorrow and let you know how it’s going and read your posts… Good Luck everyone and keep up the good work xxx

MemberHi all 🙂 so fun to hear about success around the world. I’m near Atlanta Ga and am new to TDC. I started last week on Saturday so this is my 1st week anniversary. I don’t have a great gap to my goal weight, but I’ve struggled with 15 stubborn pounds for years. Lol! If there’re any Nickleback fans out there, most recently I was on the “we all stay skinny cuz we just don’t eat” diet. And STILL couldn’t lose the last 15. I’ve never joined this type of thing because mostly they’re about weight, not health. This site seemed about both and that hooked me.
One week into the diet, I’m feeling full – for the first time in a loooong time – energetic 😀 – and I lost 5 of the stupid 15 pounds. In 1week. By eating and feeling great. Go figure. It certainly is a challenge in an unexpected way. It seems I’m either shopping, prepping, fixing, eating or cleaning food – hahaha! I’m an eating machine! But feeling great and quickly heading toward the new me. Just in time for short weather coming up in 2 short months here. I’m sold and even my husband is 3/4s on board. (He’s lost 10 lbs and loving life. He’s just finished a breakfast of yogurt, oats and fruit and has been so full with all the constant meals I’ve been fixing, has been pretty cheat-free.) For me, I’ve not cheated once. When I started, my gift to myself was 1 meal after 1 week where I was going to eat anything I wanted. I’d even picked the pie I was going to make for dessert. You know what? I don’t want it this week. Maybe next week 😀
Good wishes to everyone and Godspeed to the new you. <3 reading your stories and hope you enjoyed mine 🙂

MemberI know the feeling of being stuck there. I joined TDC in mid-January for health reasons mainly to control my blood pressure and lower my cholesterol count. I have been feeling much better, more energy then before, better mood swing control. Also, guess what, I lost 4 1/2 pounds already. I am 8 1/2 pounds from reaching my normal BMI overall since last year I lost 21 1/2 pounds. My wife loves the new what is left of me. I have no doubts that I will reach my goal before our Canadian summer starts. In the meantime I have to find a way to exercise on a regular basis.
