MemberCongratulations, Radisson! Blood pressure and cholesterol are heavy hitters and I’m so glad you’re getting them under control 😀 I’m cheering you on for the last 8 1/2 lbs! Oh, and if you find a way to exercise regularly, please share. Exercise and I have not been on the same page in a while. I might as well get on board with that while I’m doing this. If old habits gotta get dusted off, might as well do that at the same time. Keep it up and I’ll check in w y’all soon 😀

MemberActually, I purchased kettlebells a few years ago but because I did not feel very well, I stopped using them. You can read about the cardio and other benefits of kettlebell training in the following article. Also if you search You Tube you will find many videos. Buying them is relatively cheap and you don’t need a Gym to practise the exercises as long as you stay away from Windows or glass structures. You will understand when you see the videos. Please note your muscular mass will increase and impact on your weight as a result.

MemberOSSIE: Tea is a diuretic, isn’t it? Isn’t that why we lose so much weight with some of it? So, I would think that by using the stronger tea, Wu-Long, it could be bad for us in as much as making us become dehydrated. We would be losing our fluids out of our bodies. It would only come back when we stop drinking the tea. Will you please explain this? I know that when I drink only 1 or 2 cups of hot tea, I urinate much more frequently.

MemberOk, just starting and I’m confused. The foods listed on my menu planner seem to be great, but is not things that I just have at home. Gotta go shopping but what is a person who is not necessarily privy to understanding what sw and raw this and organic that is all about.

MemberClive, congratulations for finding this great site, stick with it and you will find your way around. If you look at the menu generated for you (they are listed in Menu History under Apps in the links at the top of the page) you will see beside the menu some buttons, one will send you back to the menu planner to choose some more items, the other will let you choose how many recipes you want and how much variety. Make sure in the menu planner you choose the recipes offered, and then make sure you have chosen to use lots of recipes, and you should get something you like. Then as you get used to this way of eating you will see where you can substitute in recipes that do not appear in the planner, based on the serving sizes in the online recipe book (the one in your downloads doesn’t include the serving sizes). Good Luck!

MemberOSSIE: What would you say about Organic “SO DELICIOUS” (is the brand), Dairy Free Frozen Dessert, USDA Organic? Servings are 1/2 cup, 120 calories, 3.5gm fat, 55gm Sodium, 23g Carbs, 2g Fiber and 2g Protein.
If this would be usable for TD Diet, is there something(s) on the Menu Plan that we can exchange it for? If it’s completely a No-No, let me know. Thanks for your help!February 2, 2013 at 4:54 pm #8125CHIA
MemberEthelj — Hello and welcome. We all had those same questions in the beginning. Just keep posting your questions here and Ossie, the dietitian, or another member will post an answer. Just keep watching the posts and your e-mails.
One answer from another member was the following:
For those enquiring about SWG Bread;
The Benefits of Sprouted Flour:
•Easier to Digest – Sprouting breaks down the starches in grains into simple sugars so your body can digest them like a vegetable (like a tomato, not a potato).
•Increased Vitamin C – Sprouting produces vitamin C.
•Increased Vitamin B – Sprouting increases the vitamin B content (B2, B5, and B6).
•Increased Carotene – Sprouting increases the carotene up to eight times.
•Increased Enzymes are actually produced during sprouting.
•Reduction of Anti-nutrients – Sprouting neutralizes enzyme inhibitors and phytic acid, which is a substance present in the bran of all grains that inhibits absorption of calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and zinc.
ANOTHER ANSWER IS:
Sprouted Whole Grain (SWG) Breads.
Considered the “flourless” bread. This bread is unique because it is made directly from the sprouted seed, which provides more vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids, and fiber. You get the whole-grain goodness without the flour! This type of bread is made from a sprouted wheat berry, picked, ground up, and then added to the mixture, which makes it “flourless.” High in protein, vitamins and minerals, and packed with plenty of nutrition and loads belly slashing fiber! Hope this helps. Have fun with it 🙂 Best of results to you 🙂February 2, 2013 at 6:10 pm #8131Radisson
MemberYes read everything from Ossie and keep your initial menu choices limited in number to simplify the shopping and the food prep process. As you go along you add or modify as you wish. It really works. I was on a plateau before joining TDC. Now I feel fantastic, full of energy and lost 4 1/2 pounds since mid-January.

MemberThis is day 6 for me. I have not weighed myself since the beginning, but will weigh in on Monday am. I subscribed the this sige, and it seems with all the reading of my e-mails, and checking what I can/cannot eat, I rarely have time to do anything else. I am doing pretty good, so far with my limited supply of foods allowed. But will go shopping soon. Not sure how much I can find around here, and it is a four hour drive to a larger city. For the record – my name is Patti – I live in Salmo,BC, Canada. I just cannot eat all the foods listed, so have been eating smaller portions, trying to include everything in each meal Hope all of you are doing well…Patti

MemberHi, Maurc. The posts are answered on a daily basis, no worries. Do feel free to ask any questions you have – some of the seasoned users can help you, but I can as well, as part of your paid package.

MemberHi, Roxxy38. If you want to use soy milk, do be sure to get organic. Soy is one of the foods where organic is genuinely important. Also, if it is cooked, it is healthiest, as heat denatures some of the “antinutrients” in it. Almond milk is a great choice, but do try for fortified or enriched (i.e. Almond Breeze or Almond Dream), and note that it has basically no protein (so you will want to get this nutrient elsewhere).
