My feelings exactly, CHIA. I am very grateful that I am healthy and active at my age. And, like you, just these few extra pounds gone and a about an inch and a half off the mid section would make me extatic. ……OH..a few hundred thousand dollars would help too….LOL

Hello all, how is it all going?
ANNALEERAMOS…. 😀 OH I’m so pleased your back on board, bet you make Seaborn happy to seeing your lovely face on here too….look forward to hearing update on how your getting on.

How are you this morning Seaborn…..did you have a good sleep? manage a walk this morning or are you needing to take it easy? Are the food supplies back to normal now?

Apensa…LOL your sure getting everyone attention for someone wanting to take a back seat….couldn’t you just fill out the menu planner with simple food you like and thats easy to find..ie olive oil ect, to get a menu you can try for at least a week….then give your honest opinion of how you got on…just one week trial-sticking to the plan….you could try it for say 6 days then reward yourself with a vodka at the end of the week, then let rip here with your opinion again.

Well, I’m off for an early night, got another neighbour talked into walking tomorrow so looking forward to my walk already….Happy healthy eating all.

Just wondering if you still read these emails Dawnrosie, if you do, just wanted to say thinking of you…hope you’ve moved ok and make you way back on here too 🙂

I’m new to this program and am a bit concerned about the recipes. They call for raw milk/cheese, SWG flour, non-GMO corn and other ingredients that are not available in my home town. What can I use instead of these? We do have organic options here, but not unpasteurized dairy products.

Goodmorning….got a cool fresh breeze on the open sea today!!! Just what we need after all the heat!
Well, lots of reading to do, as I work through the last 8 hours!
Haha JACKIE..you sulk?? I wouldn’t think so!!! And yes, it is good to see Annaleeramos smiling face on here again….It was a lovely weekend with the family thanks. And food supplies should be back to normal again this week, and no, I am not getting a good nights sleep. I need to get out walking regardless of the pain, it would help me sleep better I am sure. And yes, Jackie, I need to check out my walking friends again….I used to walk with one, and she had to get a job! She has just been on a cruise (lol) and has come back with quite a few more kilos…so she needs to go walking again!!! haha. How did that fairy princess outfit work out???
Oh wow…Jackie I can just see you tying bells on your kettles and swinging them around the kitchen!!! I googled kettlebells ages ago…before I found what they were, I thought they would be much more cumbersome, and thought I might have to turn to the NZ pois instead!!!! Lol..I was surprised at how small the kettlebells are.I don’t think they would be much good for arthritic shoulders!
Good on you ASPENSA…sounds like you had a great day yesterday! Glad you are not leaving “this” ship, and also glad you are not taking a back seat! Your smile would be missed, as well as your cheekiness. Boy, your wife must have a hard time with you mate!!! Either that or she just laughs all day because she doesn’t take you too seriously!!! Lol…Are you going back to the gym? I am only just beginning to find some of the items in our local stores…in the past few days they seem to have bought in more health foods, or stocked up on them again. One of the girls I know who has a “thermomix” is going to make flour for me from the quinoa and brown rice…so I won’t have to run around looking for them!
Well, got my out-of-towner girl and her hubby coming to see me today while they do their weekly shop! At least this week they will find what they need.
Keep up the good work everyone…happy cruising!

Hi, AKRose and welcome. Just do the best you can with whatever fresh and unprocessed foods you can find. As long as what you are doing is an improvement from before the program, its all good.

Jackiee…I did fill out the get started menu and select foods I like….The menu was too restrictive and some of the items I needed are either not available here or too difficult to find. I’ve been doing pretty good picking and choosing items to have. Oh, only had a couple of Vodkas watching the big game yesterday.

Seaborn…..OHHHHH, kettleBELLS!!! At first I thought you said BALLS. I was wondering how the kettles felt about Jackiee swinging their balls around. Yep, my wife has been scratching her head about me for almost 50 years. She is much more of a prude than I am. You should see the bruise she left on my arm the last time she poked me over a comment I made. Hey, people just don’t laugh at themselves enough. I am going back to the gym eventually. I have a wellness check with my doctor on the 19th of this month so using that as an excuse right now to delay my grand reappearance at my local health club. In the meantime I am doing stretching exercises with a family size box of cotton balls.

ASPENSA….I am probably a prude as much as your wife…if that is what you want to call it!!! Oh mate, I am a born-again christian (married to the same man for 38 years), who used to drink lots, swear lots, tell diry jokes lots, was the life of nearly every party, and had lots of boyfriends. I don’t do those anymore, (EXCEPT the swearing when I drop something on my foot, or kick my toe badly, or someone dumps a cup of hot coffe or tea or a cold drink on me…THEN I get angry and that is when I might fall over the edge!!) …so I guess I am what is called a prude!!! Hahaha.I am not ashamed of that.
I agree mate….people do needing to learn to laugh at themselves…my father (who ironically was the reason I had a sad and confused childhood) used to quote the Reader’s Digest “Laughter is the world’s best mecicine” to me so often, and tell me if I didn’t learn to laugh at myself I wouldn’t be able to handle everyone else laughing at me!!!! I caught onto his drift at a very early age, and I can thank him at least for that!!! I have endeavoured to instill that philosophy, as well as learning to laugh in the face of life’s storms, into my kids and theirs, and it has worked well, depending on their personalities of course!!! Lol…some people find it harder than others.
Anyway, I am sure a box of cotton balls will help while you wait for the gym…but I reckon a dance with pois would work better!!! Maybe I should try the cotton balls!!! Be good on my shoulders!!!
Tell your wife I reckon she must be and amazing, strong, woman…hahha…

Yes, my wife is an amazing woman. She is three times the man I am….wait a minute….maybe I need to rephrase that…LOL. You sound like you used to be a person after my own heart…and, I bet you still are….LOL. OOPS……I’m doing exactly what I didn’t like done here. Turning it into a social network instead of a diet (lifestyle) driven forum. I’ve come up with a soup I am going to put up for Ozzie’s critique in a bit. In the meantime, I need to empty the dryer.

Checked the internet to be sure , however unpasturized is not legal in Canada ( only G8 country actually )- so I will use almond milk unless I discover this is not a good option. I really like local food choices especially fish so will subsitute where I can . Believe for me , this will be a more sustainable. Happy with the weight loss and being aware of what I am eating. Not eating the reccommended amount of food at this point as it is way too much.
    Best of success.

Ozzie, if you could take a look at this and let me know what you think. I came up with this soup that is nothing but vegitables, beef broth and added water. I just leave it on the stove and take a bowl full now and then throughout the day.

I take a head of celery, one cabbage, a bunch of green onions, a bunch of carrots, a bunch of spinach, about three large bell peppers, four or five zuccini, one large potato, two cans of diced tomatoes and two cans of green beans (both undrained)and a carton of low sodium/fat free Swanson’s beef broth (or chicken broth). All the vegetables are either sliced, cubed or diced and thrown into a large stock pot with the liquid ingredience. I add enough water to cover the whole thing, bring to a boil and simmer over reduced heat until the vegetables are done.

Throughout the day when I feel a little hungry, i’ll take a bowl, add some Worchestershire Sauce, a dash of Tobasco, some pepper and a dash of salt. I find that it keeps me full and tastes pretty good.

What do you think, Ozzie. It is easy, quick and lasts for days.

Also makes you whiz like a racehorse.

    Hi Apensa,
Hope all is going well for you today. I just wanted to let you know that you can go into the recipes tab and there is a button at in the upper right corner to submit a new recipe. Your soup sounds yummy and super easy.
There is also a thread called ‘Tips, Tricks, Recipes & Encouragement’ feel free to copy & paste it onto there too. It gives others a one click to find new recipes.
Thanks for posting, oh yeah & tell your wife I’ll put her on my daily prayer list!!!! LOL…you sure sound like fun!

Tonight I made Chicken Soup for the Gods! It was absolutely delicious. I really like the brown rice noodles. I didn’t have a red pepper, so I used a Serrano instead. I also did not have the avocado oil, so I used my coconut oil instead. But the recipe really turned out well, and I’ll have enough for a couple more meals.
I went out and got the rest of the ingredients that most of these recipes call for and spent another $200.00. That makes it close to $300.00 for me, but now I am supplied, and hopefully everything won’t spoil on me. I could not find raw butter or raw cream to make my own butter, it just isn’t in St. George! I don’t think I care for the raw milk, I think I’ll stick to organic instead, but plan to use the raw in my cooking. I’m really excited about this program. I’m never hungry and my blood sugars are better than they have ever been! Hopefully, I will be able to lose the weight that I want to lose too. I never knew healthy could taste so good! lol

Thanks, Dory…..I’ll do that although there is probably a better one already there. I’m waiting to hear back from Ozzie. She might have a problem with the broth or the canned viggies. I’m sure my wife would debate about who needs the prayers more….her or me.

apensa: Why not use raw veggies? So much more nutritional and tasty! You should be able to find at least some of them already chopped and in bags and ready to use.
