MemberHi everyone! Well it was 3 weeks from starting this eating plan yesterday and I couldn’t wait to weigh myself as I feel like I’ve been eating like a HORSE! So far I’ve managed to lose 9 lb in weight, I was gobsmacked! My fella couldn’t get his head around how much weight that was so I got a 2 lb bag of sugar out the cupboard and said it’s 4 of these and a bit lol ๐ I’m loving the new foods and have managed to find them all now. Am expecting a delivery of raw milk on tuesday, 10 pints to start with and will freeze it. It will definitely be good with the recipes on here. Have managed to get puds on my menu too and they are fab, definitely worth the effort! In fact I have tried quite a few of the recipes and so far there was only one I didn’t like. I’ve got the actual cooking recipes down to twice a week now, I cook 1/2 the amount of the recipe and either freeze the rest in portion sizes or put in the fridge and eat the same menu for 2/3 days. It’s really weird to be woken up in the morning by my belly grumbling and groaning! I’ve noticed that my belly never feels bloated since eating the foods on this diet and seems to be helping with my Irritable Bowel Syndrome. In fact, I know i’ve mentioned puds, but my sweet tooth doesn’t seem half as bad as it was. Anyways, hope you are all doing well and persevering. Take each day as it comes and keep smiling x

MemberHope everyone enjoyed their Valetine’s Day. My hubby took me to see Safe Haven in which he told me that it was a “chick flick”! It was and I enjoyed it very much. I recommend it to all the ladies and gentlemen – take your wife. Now on to healthy eating. I do hope everyone is determined and committed to doing Trim Down. I know that weight loss can be slow (as in my case) but hang in there – it comes off. I know……down about 10 lbs and started the first week in January. I can see inches are coming off faster than the lbs but feeling better than I have in a long time. Hope I have encouraged everyone to hang in there. Hubby and I are in it for the long haul! Have a super great weekend everyone. Ginger

MemberHi all. Iยดm a little slow off the starting line here. I’ve got the shopping down (that’s never been a problem ha,ha). Tried a couple recipes that were not ones I’d want to repeat and just faded away. So I’ve decided to just do breakfast and snacks. I don’t have to worry about my husband’s palate and I can just throw in the occasional meal without the pressure of having to get everything right.
Iยดm enjoying hearing about your families, but I’ve got to back track a bit to catch up. Catch you later.
Oops, one more thing. I forgot not everyone would know what a root canal is. It’s dental surgery when they go into your mouth and clean out infection usually in one particular tooth. Usually it involves bumping the nerve. It’s often painful, not always. Anyway, after a few days I go back to the dentist and he makes a mold to build a “CROWN” or cover for your tooth. Over all – not pleasant. What do you eat whe you can’t chew?February 15, 2013 at 8:52 pm #8988jackiee
MemberEvening all,
Billylyn, I’ve had route canal too before, for me blended soup and fruit shake) were good for me while getting over the pain. Good luck, and hope its not painful for you.Cheryl and Ginnerlou, brilliant news about the weight loss and good to hear you are doing so well.
Hope everyone has a great healthy weekend. ๐

Memberwhat for an afternoon snack along with puffed corn cereal?
February 15, 2013 at 9:43 pm #8993patzmossey
Memberjust started this afternoon… what are you fav. snacks. and do they have to be exactly as listed on my menu plan?
February 15, 2013 at 10:04 pm #8994jackiee
MemberHi Patz, welcome on board, I love my nut snacks best in the afternoon if I don’t fancy a piece of fruit. In the morning I like my rye crispbread with 1\2 banana….. and No you don’t need to stick to the exact item on the plan ie if it say 2 tangerine it could be changed for other fruits – hit the refresh button at the end of the food item and it will give you a list of alternatives. I love this option and now know what most things can be changed for of the top of my head. I have head others changing lunches for dinner on different days but you just need to keep in mind the portion size and nutrition benefits. Good luck on your personal goal ๐

MemberHi all,
I’m not a big participant in news groups…I think it’s been 2 weeks since I posted an intro to myself.I haven’t lost a single pound yet…a little frustrated, but then I know I’m not really organized with this and am not following the plan to the letter. I’ve made some small changes, and I started walking on the treadmill every morning for 45 minutes for a month now and had hoped that I’d start seeing changes, but no go yet. I still eat the white bread…I haven’t got the flour thing figured out…I hope to get to the health food store tomorrow…it’s an hour away so haven’t had a chance yet. I’ve just got to sit down with the menus and recipes and get myself organized.
One question… I can’t drink plain water…I just don’t like it. I used to use Crystal Light packets, but guess that’s no good because of the Aspertame. What about the MIO flavouring? I think it’s sweetened with sucralose. If that’s no good does anyone have any suggestions? I used to be a big diet pepsi drinker, and need something different.

MemberPeddle: My hat is off to you for the 45 minutes on the treadmill!!!! Ditto on the Diet Pepsi. I’ve cut back on that quite a bit….but what am I going to do when summer arrives out here in Arizona. Also ditto on drinking straight water. Great when I’m dying of thirst (Arizona Summer again), but there is no way I can drink all that water suggested by this program. I’d probably need a catheter and a bag. I’ll be looking for any suggestions made. Oh….Ditto on the weight loss too.

MemberThanks Apensa… at least I’m not the only one finding this.
My trick with the treadmill is my iPad and a KOBO app…I love to read and as long as I have a good book, the 45 minutes fly by. I just set the text size big enough to make it comfortable to read and speed walk. I tried hopping on the treadmill after work but I was often so drained that I was skipping days constantly. When my alarm goes off in the morning, there’s no excuse, and it’s great quality reading time!
One other question I just thought of too… what about multigrain cheerios? I eat that every morning for breakfast with skim milk and either blueberries or strawberries. I’m still fuzzy on the grains.
I don’t do change or variety well…I need consistency and routine for me to stick with this. I know the menu planner gives a variety, but I’m hoping I can work out a meal for breakfast and lunch that I can use daily using the types of foods in the meal planner and just substituting the same categories. Don’t know if this makes sense or not. Supper is easy…I like having variety there.

Memberppeddle: Fill a 2 qt. pitcher with water to keep in the frig. Put a couple slices of oranges, or lemons,or 1/4 of grapefruit juice in it to add some flavor. This works for me because I don’t like much plain water either.

MemberPeddle: Again, my hat is off to you….first thing in the morning…WOW. That is dedication!!! You know…..maybe that is what I need to do. It is just a short walk from the bedroom to the room with the treadmill……turn on the TV news and walk away. I just might give that a try. I’m a Honey Nut Cheerios person myself. I too would like to just stick to one set of meals that fit the program and go for it. Historically you ladies have had quite a chore trying to come up with a variety of meals to fix the family….if anyone still cooks for the family. I think I may have found a soul sister…..LOL
Chia…..good idea. Now, if I can only remember to drink it. I’m terrible when it comes to drinking (Well, maybe not if it is Vodka) I just don’t think of drinking during the day. I have to make myself take a drink…….(unless it is Vodka)…..LOL
February 16, 2013 at 12:07 am #9000ppeddle
MemberThanks Chia…never thought of that. I don’t like the lemon but never thought of using an orange or anything else. I still need something for when I’m on the road though…Diet Pepsi was always my choice. That’s why I was thinking the MIO…keep a bottle in my purse and just pop a few drops in a bottle of water where ever I am.
Rum is my choice of drink…I just have a bit of Diet Pepsi with a drop of rum for a Saturday night treat.
I’m a bit of an odd person…I’m the one that has my clothes picked out the night before (including my treadmill clothes), lunch packed the night before, coffee mug laid out… etc. I need things that are no muss no fuss, including meals. I have no kids…can you tell?? LOL That’s why I like the same meals for breakfast and lunch…lunch especially since I often eat at my desk.

MemberPeddle, I can’t believe how much we are the same. I’m a ready to go the night before guy too. Are you a Capricorn by any chance?
Rum is higher in calories than Vodka but according to my doctor friends, the preferred drink and then comes Vodka…….they say Gin is the worst Don’t ask me why. You’ve worked hard all week…..make it a full jigger on Saturday night.
February 16, 2013 at 12:58 am #9002ppeddle
MemberNope… I’m a Gemini.
Well, in that case I just may treat myself to a second glass tomorrow night. Along with a bowl of unsalted popcorn with a wee bit of butter! Which, guess what…I have every Saturday night!
