ppeddle: If you’re in a car traveling, fill some empty bottles with the flavored water and keep them in a cooler with ice. If you’re walking around sightseeing and have a nice size carrying bag, carry a bottle or two in your bag. I save empty water bottles or glass juice bottles, etc. – with the regular screw on lid so it can be tight. It may get a little warm, but it’s water and something wet to drink until you can get someplace where there is ice. You can always think of a way to take it with you 🙂 I keep a tiny bottle that I bought baby apple juice in, just for the bottle. I take it in my purse to church and everywhere, just in case I need a drink of water. Use your imagination 🙂 Someone on this site also suggested a couple slices of cucumber. I like that too. Try whatever fruit flavor you like. You can buy sugar free fruit juices and then add about 1/4 cup to a quart or two of water. I do that too. Have fun with it — it’s your health you’re taking care of. 🙂

JACKIEE, SEABORNGIRL, STGEOFUN: DODICI’S!!! the best food ever. It was so well worth waiting for! I had grilled Salmon with a raspberry sauce, and of course Bob had his favorite pork chop with a glaze as main entree. Dessert was heavenly 🙂 I also had OoLong hot Tea so maybe that will help me lose some it 🙂

    |Hello everyone
I woke up this morning feeling tired because I had to keep geting up in the night – decied I’d post something about all the water we are drinking but you all got there first! I like water and drink it hot, sometimes with a slice of lemon. But I’m not sure I drink 10 a day. Also, I started drinking a couple of cups of green tea as article here mentioned it was good for burning off fat, so can this count as water?

Yes seaborn I am in UK – London in fact, and have a small but demanding garden. I coulnd’t get out there much last year as we had rain, rain, rain all year, so am grabbing waht days I can now. Yesterday was beutiful in the sun and I actually say outside with a cup of tea without a coat – not bad for feb.

Yes, I am lucky to have such a nice cafe – we have 7 in our litle high street would you belive and all independent, but we tend to go to te same one as Mum likes it there best and we have got to know several of the regulars. I’m off there today so will look forward to what they have for me.

Glad your little girl is finally on the mend Jackiee.

    best wishes
    Sharon

CHIA, thanks! That does seem rather obvious now that I read it, but my poor brain’s not wired or creativity. 🙂

APENSA: you have no idea! I have an over active bladder anyways and know the location of every decent public restroom within a 500km radius. Increasing my water intake should prove very interesting… :-).

Peddle……IT WORKED!!!!!! I got up this morning and almost immediately walked over to the treadmill (after doing a little bit of stretching)…..that was the “walk” part….LOL, and did 15 minutes on the treadmill. I think I can make this work and I owe it all to you. The original “Lassie” movie was showing on TCM.

Another thing we have in common. My usual first questions is, “Where can I find the nearest restroom”. I take it that since you used “500K”, you are somewhere other than the USA?

Hi everyone, just a few comments:

ppeddle: try exercising on the treadmill every other day, in between some other exercise like weights. Never exercise the same group of muscles the same day. Also, you may want to do interval training on the treadmill using a Gymboss Timer.

Billylynn: Good luck with the root canal.

Apensa: maybe martinis on weekends. But I like also good red wine which is healthier choice.

CHIA: Sorry to hear about your water damage at home. Hope the fridge is out the way by bow. Is this covered Under your home insurance?

slimasharon: Lucky you here in Canada my garden is covered in snow. Record snow fall this year. No end in sight. Going to Florida with my wife for a month mid-Macrch. Hope the snow will be gone when we come back.

While i may not have lost weight on my last scale check, I feel better, healthier. I even started execising with my Kettlebell again. I definitely dropped one size. This is more than just losing weight, its about a new lifestyle. I only joined TDC last January, however, I first, read about the program in January 2012 and started to eliminate bad foods like “orange juice”, “processed foods and pastries”, “frozen foods” and “enriched flour products”.

In one year I managed to lose nearly 20 pouds on my own. I still enjoy casual glass of wine and even chocolate is allowed on TDC.

    Hang in there!

Radisson: Oh, yes…..I keep a nice wine rack of reds. I’ve tried to cut down on all “Booze”, but an occasional Vodka Martini…..I don’t care if it’s shaken or stirred…..and red wine with any meal….fish, fowl or beef. You just can’t take the Italian out of an Italian.

Congrats Apensa!!! I did it too…got 12 more chapters read in my book this morning. Wow…Lassie…haven’t seen that in a long time. I’m Canadian…way over east in Newfoundland. I’ll have some excercise tomorrow shovelling…we’re getting a storm tomorrow and my snowblower broke down last week. 20cm of snow (or about 8 inches…LOL).

Radisson: I was wondering if I should be doing some weights in between…I wasn’t sure if I was better off sticking with the treadmill for the cardio or alternating with weights. I use an incline program on the treadmill…which moves the incline up and down every few minutes while keeping a brisk walk, but in doing some reading learned that muscle burns fat so increasing muscle mass would help. As long as I can figure out a way to read while I do it. 🙂 Or maybe use the PVR and have something good to watch in the morning.

Thanks, Peddle. Now it makes sense. You’re a hearty breed up there. Snow, to me, is something you drive to, not through.

ppeddle: Both are good, unfortunately I don’t think you can read while doing weights or kettlebell which is also an alternative. Go to you Tube to find Kettlebell exercises for women. Also, the fact that you are exercising every day may explain why you are not loosing weight. As you are buiding muscle mass, you are burning more fat. Both cardio and muscle buiding exercises are required to maintain a balanced muscle tone (the olympic runner style). As I said many times the scale and BMI are only references for doctors or redline figures to signal that your health maybe in jeopardy if you go behond these figures. However, these are only guidelines and if you exercise regularly and have a healthy muscle mass, your weight may very well be over the guidelines. Only a trainer can determine that after a fat/muscle ratio examination. See other earlier articles referenced I submitted in this topic or under fitness.

Radisson: Thanks for commenting to me. We have good insurance, but we chose a $500 out-of-pocket before insurance kicks in. We have a person coming on Monday morning to look at everything to tell us what the insurance will pay. We had a carpenter come yesterday and he said the water under the wood kitchen floor is under more of the floor than we had thought. We’ll need to get a whole new floor, which we had put down only about 3 years ago. We could also tell that the water had gone under the corner of the carpet between the kitchen and dining room. Don’t know what we can do about that. Just have to “suck it up” I guess. No pun intended 🙂

Chia….we had to chose a $5000.00 deductible to keep the insurance costs down. I wish you luck. I know what you will be going through while the work is being done.

I just got a call from friends that are in town for a short time. They want to meet at In And Out Burgers for lunch. Well, I guess today just turned out to be another “free day”. Then tonight we have to attend a birthday party…..I snow she is serving chili and corn bread. Might as well forget it today…….where’s the Vodka.
