MemberSWG English Muffins are wonderful — so wonderful that last week when I toasted one for my breakfast (a serving is only 1/2 half, 90 calories), I ended up toasting 3 whole muffins π but they were sure good π I’m just telling you how good they are, but DON’T DO what I did π They are also in the freezer sections in the grocery stores. They have seeds in them and are nice and crunching, but also soft. When I first looked for them I asked a manager if he knew where they were and he didn’t know. I finally found them in the freezer by myself. So, if they don’t know, keep searching for yourself π I like them so much better than the SWG bread that I also found in the same freezer area. These are in a blue box with a siran like wrapping, marked ORGANIC. Six large ones in a box. YUMMY! Makes me want one, but I’m going to try to get started again today. Will spend time today cooking for the coming week as I did when I first started this plan. This makes it a lot easier than cooking before each meal. HAVE A GREAT DAY! π

MemberYes RADDISON, I can only go upwards…I am sure I can stick with this….thanks for the encouragement mate!!! And I am so thankful that I don’t live where you are…I would have chilblains as well!!! Lol….I would love to visit Canada one day, but not in winter!!!
As for the gout, I haven’t got any sign of those sore toes now…it lasted a day and that was all.
Anyway, getting my tooth sorted out this arvo. My cheeky daughter came up with the comment “someone left the window open” and the group I was with got on a roll after that, as I laughed with my hand over my mouth!!!! Was a good laugh….
Must go and get ready to face the day….Bev.February 25, 2013 at 3:11 am #9354apensa
MemberThis Tuesday past I madethe mistake of going to the doctor for my annual “wellness” check. The very next day I came down with the most severe upper bronchial infections I have ever experienced
That day was to be my wife’s 70th birthday. Needless to say our celebrations were heavily altered. Her email address is penlin2@hotmail.com. I thought I might make a quicker exit from the dog house if I could get as many well wishes from strangers as I possible. Those of you who have experienced my negetive attitude can imagine life at our house in recent days. I’m sure those well wishes or messages of sympathy for being stuck with me may helpFebruary 25, 2013 at 3:33 am #9355Radisson
Memberapensa: Take care of yourself and Happy Birthday to your better half. I’m sure you will find a way to make up for it next week… Maybe nice flowers, dinner out and a little walk on your knees should help! Best of luck and may the force be with you…

MemberEvening all, hope you all had a good weekend!!! Hows everyone getting on?
I do hope you get better soon APENSA (and have just sent an email to you wife too)…
Hows the smile Bev, all fixed I hope π How did you get on with the drs visit today? I hope they can help you more. Did you get the thunder and lightning storm you wanted…I hope it doesn’t end up as bad as last time.
How did you get on today and with your weekly cooking CHAI? I do hope you have managed to get back on track…I also think that you should stop buying the SWG Muffins because they sound TOO TASTY…. or you could get a little safe in the freezer and give your hubby the key so you can only get your hands on your daily muffin allowance! π
Thanks for the suggestion Radisson..I’ll have to remember take a photo next time I do the Melanzane Stacks, then post it to be consider on here…It’s good to hear your booked up for a good break from all that snow…. it will be good for you to get some walks in the fresh air…will lots of relaxing with your book. My Dad is just back from his month long winter break, and due out here next week..he loves getting away as much as possible during the winter months. He’s just invested in a kindle fire to save him trailing so many books about on his holidays…Does your phone have a kindle app too?
ppeddle, how did you get on with your new batch of spelt bread… take my hat of to you for your patience… and persistence….hope you get the knack of it soon. My friends love their bread makers.
As Seaborn said before, its great having so many new people on board and I love hearing everyones updates.
I had a great weekend, we got lots of snow Friday night, so me hubby and little girl got out at 7.45 am to make a snowman….had tons of fun and some exercise as Angelina insisted on having a mummy snowman, a daddy snowman and a baby snowman…although I didn’t manage all her list as she did want the grandparents too…but explained we needed to leave some snow in the square for other kids. I then done my home-made pizzas on Saturday night for friends…I feel so proud when a table full of Italians tell me my Pizzas are delicious…I make them one at a time on a pizza maker which has a griddle pan at bottom and a grill on top…2 minutes a pizza..the good thing about this is by the time I’m finished making all the pizzas and sit down everyone else is quite full so they stop eating soon after my first piece, which them makes me conscious of how many pieces of pizza I eat myself. Dessert was Tiramsu…yummy but thankfully made with cream…which I don’t like..so all in all what should have been a calorie ladled dinner didn’t end up so bad for me at least!!! then Sunday brought about another nephews birthday cake..again with creamed & nutella so I only had a little of the sponge bottom and handed the rest to my hubby π
Hope everyone else is still staying motivated and saying no to most of those high calories food…till next time…take care…

MemberJACKIEE: I made a large bowl of Steel Cut Oatmeal and a large bowl of Rice yesterday for the week. That will help me a lot. I started again today. I like your comment about the SWG Muffins. It’s probably true π

MemberTHE TRUTH ABOUT EGGS: A GOOD ARTICLE — http://www.rodale.com/free-range-eggs.
I love eggs and on this plan, I eat a lot of hard boiled eggs. I boil several ahead of time and have them ready for me anytime.February 26, 2013 at 12:43 am #9388Sunshine

MemberI had my daughter’s family here for the past four days, day one and two I stuck to this plan, but did not do well the last two days! I guess in a way, I’m fortunate to live away from family. Unfortunately we all love to eat, and not the right foods either! They left this afternoon though, so I’ll jump back on the program tomorrow. I must admit, I feel better on the program than when I’m eating the things I shouldn’t. I’ve been on this for three weeks now, lost only 3 pounds, but I hope that one of these days, these foods will just be my preferred choices, and I can lose the cravings for sweets! Wish me luck! I’m glad to hear that the rest of you are doing well.

MemberGood morning SUNSHINE, I couldn’t get going without a coffee in the morning…read up on your ‘TRIM DOWN MAIN PROGRAM GUIDE’ page 35…its all about drinks…but I have copied and pasted the tea and coffee bit for you below…
TEA AND COFFEE
Tea and coffee can be good friends to you in your weight loss journey. The key, however, is picking the right kinds and then preparing them appropriately. First and foremost, no matter which variety of tea and coffee you drink, you want to be sure not to add a whole lot to them. Limit the amount of cream and sugar that you add and when possible, go for lower-fat options.
Many start out their day with a morning cup of coffee and that is absolutely fine. Do be sure to go for a regular old cup of coffee and try to stay away from the fancier options that are full of fat and calories. A latte made with skim milk is just fine, but anything with cream, syrup, or unknown ingredients is just not good β and often has a lot fat and sugar lurking within the cup.
When it comes to tea, you canβt go wrong with green tea as your drink of choice. Many experts actually encourage green tea to support weight loss efforts, as it has a thermogenic effect in addition to providing strong antioxidants. What this means is that it can actually help you to naturally burn calories and boost your metabolism. Therefore, having a cup or two of green tea each day is actually a good idea, and a healthy one at that. Adding a twist of lemon increases the antioxidant properties. Either form of caffeine is just fine, but as with anything, go with the rule of everything in moderation. Be cautious about too much caffeine consumption, as though it may lessen your appetite, it robs the body of minerals and some vitamins may make you jumpy at the same time β and thatβs just not good for anyone.p.s theres also an Alcohol section too…..
Hope this helps and you enjoy your morning coffee once more. I used to have cappucinos here in italy but have now changed to a coffee americano, ( a shot of coffee and hot water- I also add a splash of milk too)…I have this at the bar before going shopping…I don’t have the crossiant either as swapped this for a wee bag of almond nuts (1 oz) that I munch away at after my coffee…my wee morning treat when out and about which helps me not forget my morning snack when on the go….good luck

MemberHi Katie, lovely to hear you had another family visit and that you done well for a whole 2 days before giving in to temptation…remember you could have easily given in for the whole 4 days but you didn’t…so thats a 1\2 of a well done π
I have the worst sweet tooth in the world I’m sure, but one thing I have found that helps this is roasted squash, or the squash omelette, lovely and sweet…I know theres lots of recipes for muffins, cakes and desserts on the recipes but I’m trying to stay away from these until I reach my first 5kilo lose….its has been a slow slog but only half a kilo to go then I’m going to bake some cupcakes or muffins for a treat…along with a treating myself to new walking trainers….good luck tomorrow.

MemberJACKIEE AND ALL: This probably won’t sound good, but I sort of make a salad on a dinner plate, out of the brown rice with lettuces, beets, canned green beans, (SOMETIMES slice a hard boiled egg on it for protein), maybe a few baby carrots, sliced or chopped green or red Bell peppers, maybe a few chopped green onions, etc. on it. Top with a little fat free dressing and toss the salad a little to get the dressing mixed in. I do this with my cooked barley too. It gives the barley and the rice a much better flavor and is not so bland or boring. When my menu calls for tuna or canned chicken, I add them to my salad like this. It’s my whole dinner or lunch, unless I’m supposed to have a fruit too for that meal. I eat the fruit separately π I love it and it really fills me up. Yesterday I weighed myself and was up from my 2 week crash 8 lbs (pounds). Today I’m down 4 for those pounds π I know much of it is fluid first, but at least the scales shows improvement and that is encouragement π Hoping all of you and all of you newbies will get encouraged too. Jackiee – keep up the VERY helpful encouragement for all of us π That’s a hugh part of being able to stay on a diet plan.
