MemberHi Bev, π so glad you got the window closed…oops sorry meant your smile back π your be getting up soon or maybe your already driving Bill to work, hope he enjoyed his egg and bacon pie…did you have it too? I slowly changing my family to my trimdown menu without telling them π and no grumbles either. Angeline had her wee friend round too and she loved my rice, I mix it with some saffron, served along with basic omelet, and some raw veggies sticks for them and grilled turkey for me and hubby, he even get a little honey glaze, with a sprinkle of Parmesan on his grilled turkey to living it up for him!!! So getting used to giving them my menu stuff now, with little tweaks to keep them happy. My Dad lives near London and thankfully gets over to visit quite a lot during the autumn, winter and spring months…he never comes over in summer (to hot) and my wee one loves when her grandfolks visit…I’ve still not told her their coming Saturday, can’t wait to see her face π we would love them to come over more often but its tough on my hubby since he doesn’t talk English…which we blether away in while their here.
Hi Marcia, you sure do have a lot to consider for Passover so I hope you manage tweaks to suit your needs, maybe Ossie can make some suggestion too. good luck.February 28, 2013 at 1:15 am #9485apensa

MemberThanks Jackiee and Seaborngirl for welcoming me on board! I had a great day. I didn’t even crave chocolate and that is spectacular for me! I realized that I was NOT eating enough during the day to Zap the cravings. It worked for me. I know i have a long road ahead, but today was good and I feel great! I work for a Food Broker and am in 4 different Wal-Marts and 3 Sam’s Clubs each week. FOOD is ALL around ME!

MemberMade a little homemade granola tonight…heated the honey a little (a little too much) to make it a little runny…well, the lid popped off when I retrieved it from the microwave, splashing everywhere! Hair, hand, floor, cupboards, stove, counter top, etc. I hope I got it all cleaned up! I’ve been fighting ants here in Sunny St. George, so I’m sure I’ll have a new troop of them by morning, if I missed something in my clean up! Wish me luck!
Bev…my friend is an Aussie! She was born in England, but was raised in Australia from age 2-19. That is when she moved to the USA. She’s one of my very best friends. We can tease each other and get a good laugh out of it!
Jackie…did I tell you that I took Italian for 3 years…however, it is in a program called Institute of Continued Learning, and all the classes are taught by volunteers. We had a 2 hour class once a week, so you can’t become very fluent in the language at that pace, and my second year was just a repeat of the first year! But when I was in Rome, I asked for directions (in Italian) to the Botanical Garden, and the fellow understood me well enough to give me directions, I understood him well enough to find the place! I was very excited about it. Other than that, I could only ask for my room key! haha I was able to read most of the signs however, so that really helped me. I love the language, the culture (arts & opera), and the people!
Have fun with your folks visiting. I just had my daughter’s family here (hubby, 3 year old boy, and two year old twin girls!) We had a great time! We went to Zion National Park, which is just about 45 minutes from my place. So enjoy them while you can!I’m back on course with this program, but I must be getting use to the amount of food (of course, I can’t eat as much as they suggest), but I think my splurging over the weekend, has made it harder to stay away from the treats. It’s a good thing the treats left with the company! So I’ll hang in there, and hope all of you can too. Bye for now!

MemberHi everyone….just a quick post…lol!!!
KATIE…that is hilarious…as I read it I had a memory of a little movie and the ants marching through your kitchen…lol! It is such a big mess to clean up…worse when you have others around you trying to make a coffee or sandwich or whatever!!!So your mate is a Pommie Aussie Yankee!!! Lol. Sounds like a lot of fun.
FLYMOW….sounds like you are going to be fine if you haven’t had that craving for the brown stuff. It’s amazing when you realise why you were craving something all that time…and it is only because we weren’t shoving enough food in to keep us going!!! Ah well, we are on the mend now!!!
APENSA….good to see you up on deck again mate. Hey, just a thought, maybe your wife did something so she couldn’t get any more mail after the onslaught of mail for her belated birthday!!! Lol…
JACKIE…yes it is so good to have the window closed…and smiling again with all my might!!! Haha. I did eat a little more of the pie than I should have Jackie…naughty me! But sent the rest to work with Bill today…made lunch easy for him. I think I will do a tuna pasta tonight…not my thing, but Bill loves it and it is something I can eat today.
He has become very fussy about food over the past year, so I am thinking he is either going through male menopause (lol), or he has been watching too many cooking shows on TV (watches them every day if he can), and now he thinks he is an expert on food!!! Or it could be one of his tablets mucking up his taste buds!!! I was on antibiotics a few years ago…one after the other…I got the flu really bad one March, and for the next 3 years I was sick with chronic bronchitis…just when I would get over something, another one would hit me. Took a long time for my immune system to sort itself out, and that is one of the reasons I got so tired and put on weight. I have had two good years now. One of the tablets I was on left me with a metallic taste and the worst thing was I couldn’t drink coffee, so ended up finding a lovely Jarrah called French Liason. That was the thing I had to give up when I started on here. I don’t like the flavour of coffee now, so very rarely have one…if I do, it has to be made on milk. All that to say my food is no longer the way to my man’s heart!!! Lol.
Good to see the newbies…welcome to you all.
Must go again…hope those who are sleeping are having a good night’s sleep…I hope I am going to get a better one tonight!!! Catch up with you all tomorrow.

MemberYou are probably right Chia. I didn’t think about that but they probably went into her junk mail and she never even saw them. Bad move on my part…..gee, another one….LOL.
February 28, 2013 at 7:25 am #9492apensa
MemberSorry about that. I meant Seaborne.
February 28, 2013 at 7:33 am #9493Seaborngirl
MemberAPENSA…have you got your computer set to automatically delete your junk mail? If so, shouldn’t you be able to check your deleted mail? I hope it is all there for her. My little joke might not be a joke mate.
February 28, 2013 at 7:38 am #9494apensa
MemberI’ll have to tell her to check them out if not deleated. I’m sure i will get the third degree about telling “THE GIRLS” about her birthday. I think maybe the q/2 cup of brakfast cereal is getting to my brean.

MemberLol…yes she might get a bit annoyed about it, but I am sure that will only be for a moment…she will get over it, and when she talks to her girlfriends about it, she will probably laugh her head off, telling everyone what a lovely husband you are for thinking of her like that!!! Hehe…we’ll see won’t we mate?

Memberapensa: I don’t think I wrote the post about the e-mail going into your wife’s trash, but if they did, all you need to do to get them is, open her trash and she can read them. I hope you can find them for her. They are probably very nice π
February 28, 2013 at 3:58 pm #9501apensa
MemberYes, Chia….I made a mistake. Meant for Seaborne.
February 28, 2013 at 3:59 pm #9502apensa
MemberI’ll have to ask her about it. She probably deleted them already. I’ll probably get back into the dog house for giving out her email address. Oh, well…..just one more reason….LOL

MemberHi everyone, a few thoughts to help you out:
See new photo of my BBQ station. What you see is snow beside the BBQ. This is new snow as I clear this area regularly since the beginning of winter. No matter what, that did not prevent me from cooking hamburgers last night with SWG buns and fresh veggies.
While I did not lose any weight in the last 3 weeks I feel energetic, I have been doing interval kettlebell exercises every other day for the last month. I also have more room in my clothing and my waistline is improving.
I feel stronger and my muscle mass is improving, that may explain the plateau. Also, I had to change my SWG bread to better quality ingredients. I really enjoy my new menu, but I did make some adjustments as follows:
One way to help you stay on your menu is to cook a large batch of mixed beans, Brown rice , Quinoa pudding, your favorite fish, chicken breasts and Turkey Roast on weekends so that you have enough for the whole week. Always have at least four fresh fruits in the house (Orange, Pear, Apples, Bananas)
Improve the flavour of bland ingredients like mixed beans and Brown rice by using fat free no salt added beef or chicken broth instead of water. Add a large minced onion, 2 cups of fresh mushrooms and 1 cup of green peppers and cook together. Always season with a pinch of sea salt and fresh black Pepper to taste. If you want to try something different add a touch of Herbes de Provence.
If you try the Quinoa pudding recipe, ditch the currents and use dry raisins instead, also don’t be afraid to spike the taste by adding a second serving ( two 1G packets instead of one). I always have half a cup of 1% milk with my Quinoa pudding portion, otherwise its too dry.
If you like soups, for variety sake add organic or regular soups to your menus and replace it with fat free no salt added beef or chicken broth. Combine the broth with any free vegetables from the list and add your portions of chicken, turkey or fish. Again season with a dash of sea salt, fresh ground black pepper and Herbes de Provence to your taste (a little goes a long way).
I hope you have fun enjoying these suggestions and good health to all of you.

Member“Correction”:
If you try the Quinoa pudding recipe, ditch the currents and use dry raisins instead, also donβt be afraid to spike the taste by adding a second serving “of Stevia extract” ( two 1G packets instead of one). I always have half a cup of 1% milk with my Quinoa pudding portion, otherwise its too dry. – See more at: http://www.trimdownclub.com/forums/topic/2013-newbies/#post-9503
