MemberOssie…I have a question for you. Is black rice a good option? I had never heard of it, but a friend of mine says she really likes it.
I wasn’t home today, on the road. So I tried to eat as well as I could. I didn’t stray too much, but was a little hungry tonight. It really makes a difference when you don’t get your grains. Tomorrow I have the whole day to myself though! I am so excited. I have been going a 100 miles/hour lately. I’m trying a new dessert that you make with Greek yogurt, honey, graham cracker crust and blueberries on top! Sounds good! I’ll let you know how it turns out tomorrow. Nite

MemberHi everyone,
I am new to this community, just joined it 1 week ago.
It’s very hard to change old habits of eating… Some days I feel really good and motivated, but some days I feel: “it won’t work” and may be I should just not waste so much energy and eat what I like, but I want to try it and see if this will pay me back.
I weight myself in the gym and my weight loss vary from -1kg to -0.5 kg depends on the day at the moment, hopefully it will keep going down.March 8, 2013 at 1:38 pm #9809Norunyan
MemberHi everyone,It is a good day for me.I have dropped back to my before Christmas weight.Yea,it has been hard to get going but It is working after all.I get to feeling like I am not EVER going to lose any more ;then I did.
Eating good for you food is hard to get used to ;but Eating like this makes you want to continue ,I get hungry for fruit now.I eat nuts for my snack, but not too many.A lot of us have diabeties .Do not know if the weight causes type 2 but everyone who loses their weight gets it under control and we all want that.
Bev,I hope your storms are not to bad.Somehow it seems the weather all over is worse than it used to be.I have family in Connecticut .They have had some deep snows this year, also a hurricane went in.That is rare for them.
I feel for you wearing the sleep mask. Will it be a long term thing? Wish you luck with it.I would probably be taking it off in my sleep.
Everyone new,it is good you have joined the rest of us as we go.Reading all the posts is something I look forward too. NancyMarch 8, 2013 at 6:07 pm #9811bjeRK41e
MemberOssie: thank-you for responding. that is so good to know. motivates me to cut back for sure.
I made the pizza pesto al greco recipe yesterday and I LOVED IT!!! the only change I made was that I put on x-tra black olives. It tastes like real pizza. who would think that a spinach puree pizza would taste that good!
Yesterday I ate three good meals and did’nt gag. Even though the meals are good I gag sometimes, because I’m not used to eating that much and I have anxiety so if I’m not relaxed when I eat I gag a lot. that makes eating frustrating. I have come a long way from where I started before being on this program, where I ate mabe two meals a day, that were’nt healthy to eating 3 healthy meals, most every day. unless I gag a lot, then I’ll eat half the meal. I’am feeling so much better! I thank the Lord for showing me this program. It has brought life back to my body, that I have’nt had in years. I actually feel like doing things. Like walking, cleaning, and cooking. I’am way more active now. Being on this program keeps me busy. It seems like if I’m not cooking and cleaning up after cooking I’m planning what to make next. LOL. Knowing how good it makes me feel with the change makes it all worth it.
Like I said before I used to drink a half pot of coffee in the morning for breakfast then eat something in the afternoon. then have a very unhealthy dinner like, spaghetti in the eve. Now I’m right on breakfast with a small cup of coffee. eating a good lunch and good dinner. I’ll have a fruit in between brkfst. and lunch.
I’am eating a fruit and a vegetable everyday now. I’d like to eat more of them, I do enjoy them now.
With the improvements I’ve made in the last two weeks I’m not overly concerned that I’m not going by my menu, although I do get a lot of ideas from it, I’m certaily NOT perfectly following it. I still feel much better plus I’ve lost a few pounds by eating more:} It’s a healthier way to eat most definitly.March 8, 2013 at 6:16 pm #9813bjeRK41e

MemberQuestion please.
The quantity that is on our menu planner has been worked out for each individuals weight……….. Is this correct? Therefore assuming it is for each individual, do we need to eat all of it or can we go for less if feeling too full ?
this morning I had 3 rice cakes instead of 4 and when I read the posts of other members saw that some were gagging because they were not used to eating so much, like me……….. Look forward to your response.

I notice a 5 pound difference in my weight if I step on the scale in the morning versus evening. In the morning I’am 5 pounds less.March 8, 2013 at 8:28 pm #9820bjeRK41e

MemberHello everyone. Haven’t been on the forum lately but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing the program. I am and just love it! This morning I had on my menu egg, 2 swg bread, apple and milk. Well I decided to do something different with it….I made bread crumbs then added my egg and some milk, pulsed and had “pancake” batter. Made my pancakes and put my apples (which I stewed) on top. Hubby loved it and so did I. A nice reprieve from toast, scrambled eggs and fruit/milk. Just thought I’d share with you guys. Best of luck with the menus and wishing you all a healthy, happy eating experience. – Ginger

MemberHello Everyone!
The dessert I told you about yesterday is a keeper! It made 12 servings, so today I have been going around to some of my homebound friends with dessert! They love it, and it allows me to try a new recipe without eating all of it. I’m in charge of our monthly cooking class next week, and you guessed it, they are going to get two very healthy recipes from me, I’ll explain a little about the program to them too. I know I have already motivated one of my friends and I took her to our Natual Grocer’s Store today to get her started! Blood sugars were 93 this morning, that’s great for me! I had a good night sleep, now if I could just get to bed before midnight! lol I was going to walk the trails today, but alas, it is raining here, so back to the gym I went. Worked out on the bike for 10 minutes and then walked two miles on the track. I’m enjoying the energy and enthusiasm that I have from and for this program!March 9, 2013 at 12:59 am #9833apensa
MemberHi, all. Just thought I’d let you know I am forever lurking in the background. Still on the see saw…up one day, down the next but still have that ever present “muffin top” around the waist.
Ozzie….very interesting information on Orange Juice vs. eating an orange. I just bought a large bag at our local “warehouse” store. Is there any way you can eat too much orange?
March 9, 2013 at 1:11 am #9834Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Apensa. Eating more than 5 pieces of fruit in a day is generally not recommended when trying to right-size, and limiting all of those pieces to one type of fruit is also not recommended. Within that framework, I suppose one would say that 2 should be the max.

MemberNow, Ossie, I’m sure that the answer to my next question is somewhere in the documentation, but…..FIVE pieces of fruit a day???? How big are the pieces??? You mean if I have a grapefruit in the morning with breakfast, eat an apple at around 10:00 and have an orange for an afternoon snack, the diet police will surround my house?
