wilsonj2MemberI am also new to the forum and I am feeling a little confused. I made the strawberry banana oatmeal and it said it made 4 C, yet 1 C is a serving, but my menu said to eat 2 C, does that mean I am suppose to eatt 2 servings? I used steel cut oats because I thought they are better for you then instant oatmeal, but I am not sure if it is or not. I also thougt this diet was either low carb or no carb, yet I have carbs on my menu. Do you get a new menu each week or the same one used over and over? I also picked out some recipes, how do you incorporate them into the menus? Can you replace other things on the menu with the recipes and if so, how do you do that. What replaces what? Can you interchange ones days breakfast, snack, lunch or dinner for other days items? How do you know what to eat each day if you want to create your own menu? A lot of questions and really confused. Hope someone can help. Thanks

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, WilsonJ2, and welcome! I’m happy to help.
Yes, if it states 2 cups, then that would be 2 servings. And yes, steel cut oats are much better for you than instant oats.
Overall, this program is fairly low in carbohydrates, about 40-45% of energy (compared to 50-65% in a ‘normal’ diet). This gives the benefits of a low-carb diet, but protecting against chronic disease at the same time.
With regard to your menu, each time you click on “Save and Create Menu,” a new menu is generated based on your food choices. If you want very different menus, just go ack and make changes in your selections in the food lists.
If you want swap items in your menu, you can just click on the item, and you will get a list of items that fit that spot (among those that you selected already). The following is a full list of items and exchanges: http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists.
