Tagged: Measureing
Hi all. I am new to this diet and am confused about amounts. When it says 1/2 cup of couscous (cooked) do I measure the 1/2 cup before I cook it or is it a half cup of already cooked couscous. Hope someone can help me out of my confusion.
I have been going for about two months( minus 25 lbs ) and I believe you measure after cooking. look at directions and see what the yield is per dry amount prepared
this also applies to meats as they shrink and loose weight during cooking
Thanks Mike. That is an impressive amount of weight loss! Hope I do as well as you.
I had a similar question – I am assuming the same goes for rice, quinoa, pasta etc? That the amount listed is after cooking rather than before.
Hi to all. Meat/fish/poultry and vegetables are listed as the before-cooking size, while grain products are post-cooking sizes.
