What type of food can I eat to replace 10 ounces of beer. It put beer in my menu and I don’t have any choices to replace it with?

    #40257

Hi, ginbec69. That size serving of beer equals 1 carb + 1 fat exchange, which can also be swapped for 1 protein + 1 green vegetable exchange (or 1 carb + 1 veg exchange or 1 protein + 1 fat exchange).
You can check out the options in those food groups here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-groups.

Thanks for the info, I tried to go to the website you suggested about the food exchanges and it says “oops the page is not available”. Any suggestions where I can find the exchange information?

I am wanting to make the carrot&spinach yam soup but can’t figure out how to get it into my menu plan. It also doesn’t give the values at the end of the recipe like the other ones do so can you help me with this please? Thanks

I have tried searching the forums but haven’t found answer. I would like to know what the ideal potion of protein fat etc is for a day.thanks

Hi, DHahn. You can add together the exchanges found in this resource – http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists – and then divide them by the number of servings. For your convenience, I have added the information to that particular recipe.

Thank you for that information. However I think maybe I didn’t ask my question clearly. For an ideal menu how many proteins, carbs, fats etc should I include in my menu for each day? Thank you

Hi, DHahn. Click on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above your menu, and you will see the exchanges allotted to you for each meal and day (total at the bottom). The approximate nutritional values of the exchanges are as follows:
1 carb exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 3 grams of protein
1 protein exchange = 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
1 fat exchange = 5 grams of fat
1 fruit exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates
1 vegetable exchange = 5 grams of carbohydrates + up to 2 grams of protein
1 sweet exchange = up to 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 5 grams of fat
1 free exchange = up to 5 grams of carbohydrates or up to 2 grams of protein or fat

The total of carbs for Mon is 8.65— is that more or less then the recommended amount of carbs for one day?

    #40351

Hi, DHahn. If it is 8.65 exchanges for the day, then that is indeed within the range allotted to you.
