MemberI am very new to this program. I am a young 66 yrs old but lately because of thyroid and lots of anxiety I have put on 20 lbs that just wont come off. It is very depressing for me. I have a very high stressed job and I find that I eat when I am anxious or want to reward myself. What can I munch on in between meals i.e. watermelon, carrots? I need something if I want this plan to work for me. Can anyone help?

MemberHi, Pam. Hopefully you are being followed by a health care professional familiar with your case. It is very important that your thyroid hormone levels be balanced – for reasons beyond just weight – so I would encourage you to seek assistance.
With regard to your question, we provide snacks between major meals, and you can get ideas from what we have listed there. We don’t recommend grazing more than that, as it can be stressful to your body. If you want something soothing beyond the three snacks, I highly recommend sipping on a hot or cool beverage that you like, over even a broth (particularly “miso,” which has significant health benefits); if the beverage is sweetened (as opposed to a vegetable juice), I recommend a high-quality low-carb option such as Stevia and/or erythritol.May 30, 2017 at 12:25 pm #38874pam070707
MemberThank you for your quick response. I was really feeling down about my weight gain that I’ve tried to lose but can’t. I am going to take your suggestion about sipping on something hot or cold. I have tried so many things that have cost soooo much money–but as soon as I got off of them (although I only lost a couple of pounds) the weight all came back plus a couple extra pounds. I am giving this a try. Thank you for your encourgement.
