MemberI know that it suggested to weigh in on Friday. I was wondering why on Friday and not Monday…..

MemberHi, Ubig – because people get a little wacky with treats on the weekend, and we don’t want them to get discouraged. On the other hand, knowing you have a weigh-in on Monday may prevent too much overindulgence, so that’s fine, too.

MemberHow do you get motivated when you feel tired all the time? At 70 I seem to have lost my get up and go. Any suggestions?

MemberHi, Chaffersjones. Just take little steps – the small changes really do add up. Each time you prepare or eat someting, think “how can I make this just a little bit better” or try to eat just a little less of a diet-killer. The same with exercise – just start with 5 minutes, then gradually increase at your own pace. Find ways to do things that make you happy (like exercising in front of a TV show or movie you like, or taking walks with a friend); there will be some trial and error here, but there’s no rush. Remember that you are a few years younger than Harrison Ford, and more than 20 years younger than Betty White. You can have plenty of time if you’re healthy, and getting there will take less than it did to gain the unwanted weight.
