Should have said I live in the UK ?
Hi, Mandy. Any brand that truly has 100% wholemeal, 2 grams or less of added sugar, and minimal-to-now non-food additives. An example of a good ingredients list is below (from Biona’s):
Buckwheat Natural Sourdough* (Wholegrain Buckwheat Flour*, Water), Water, Wholegrain Millet Flour (18%), Wholegrain Buckwheat Flour*, Corn Flour*, Linseed*, Sunflower Oil*, Apple Bran*, Sea Salt, Honey*, Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin).
You can contrast that with this less-than-ideal ingredients list for reference:
Wholemeal Flour (Wheat), Water, Caramelised Sugar, Yeast, Wheat Protein, Soya Flour, Salt, Wheat Flour (with added Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Emulsifiers: E471, E472e, E481, Preservative: E282, Vegetable Fat (Palm, Rapeseed), Flour Treatment Agent: Ascorbic Acid, Wheat Starch, This product contains 62% Wholegrains from Wholemeal Flour
