I make shakes with a plant based protein powder, ice, almond milk, Greek yogurt and a fruit, sometimes I’ll drop the yogurt and fruit and do peanut butter. Is that keto friendly?

Hi, Abstab611. It depends if the resultant fat grams exceed the carbohydrate+protein grams, which may only happen when peanut butter is used. What protein powder are you using? What are the amounts of the ingredients?

I use 2 scoops of Purley Inspired Organic Protien, 1-1/2 cups of unsweetened almond milk about a half cup yogurt and about a half cup to a cup of fruit.

Hi, Abstab611. That shake is not keto-supportive, as it is much higher in carbohydrates and protein than it is fat. To make it keto, reduce the powder amount to 1 scoop, substitute the rice milk and yogurt with 1-1/4 cups unsweetened coconut milk beverage and 1/3 cup coconut milk for cooking, and use a low-carbohydrate fruit like strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, or cantaloupe.
