Speckies
MemberHello,
How do I find the calorie count found on my menu? For example. I know that different brands of wheat Pita may vary in calories. How do I know I am not over consuming calories by using different brands?March 28, 2018 at 9:10 pm #40865Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Speckies. We don’t work with calories in this program, but rather with meeting your nutritional needs with the same sort of exchange system used by dietetics organizations. You can see how much of each food group you are allotted by clicking on the “Exchange mode” icon in the toolbar above your menu. The approximate values of the exchanges are as follows:
1 carb exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 3 grams of protein
1 protein exchange = 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
1 fat exchange = 5 grams of fat
1 fruit exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates
1 vegetable exchange = 5 grams of carbohydrates + up to 2 grams of protein
1 sweet exchange = up to 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 5 grams of fat
1 free exchange = up to 5 grams of carbohydrates or up to 2 grams of protein or fat - AuthorPosts
