Memberhello Sharon, could you please tell me what my calorie range is? I know we are on an exchange program. I have been reading the forum and see that we are not on a typicall 1200 calorie diet, weight loss will be slow, but I would like to know the expectation.
Intially the program explained i would lose 20lbs by August but that seems unlikely.
Thanks,

MemberHi, joycesevere16. At your current weight, you are allotted about 1900-2000 calories per day. As you lose weight and update your profile and menus, that amount will go down gradually. Note that you can give yourself an important boost through physical activity.

MemberThank you for this response. ok, so on average for my age and gender, I should be eating 1800 calories per day to stay within my weight. As a result, the only way to lose weight in this program is exercise since my portion and food choices would keep me at my same weight?
How does the program then suggest that I would lose about 20 pounds by August, if it takes losing 10 pounds to have the menu adjusted.
Again, thank you for answering my questions, it helps me to understand… this program more.

MemberHi, joycesevere16. A lot depends on how you were eating before that made you gain the weight. The assumption is that the amount you get here will be less, and will therefore help with weight loss. Having written that, exercise is very important to boost your efforts to meet your particular goal in a way that it can be maintained and not result in regaining the weight.
