I just had my 60th birthday and decided I needed to face my “fat issue” head on. I am 3 stone overweight and this has come on gradually over the years for two main reasons. 1) I had surgery in my twenties for a collapsed muscle at the bottom of my gullet – the surgery is the complete opposite to stomach stapling meaning I get lots of acid and need to snack often. 2) I cared for my handicapped daughter for 23 years, she woke often in the night and I got into the habit of tea and biscuits with her when the rest of the house was sleeping. She passed away a few years ago and I mistakenly thought the night time munchies would be a thing of the past – wrongly as it happens! Any suggestions gratefully received. Jacquie, London
