MemberI have spent so many days and hours trying to get this system to work.I have never been able to add vegetables or free food to my menu as nothing shows up in menu creation under those 2 tabs.. All other things, beans, fruits, etc show up beautifully and i have added those items i lIke and those have showed up on the menus.. I am a vegetataian and it is important to me to choose and eat mostly vegetables. I am on low estrogen, glutenfree, no soy, eggs or dairy for many years now and hoped this site could help me. Big dissapointment so far.
The swirly white icon on the right of each menu listed for that meal doesn’t keep or replace items in the menu no matter how long or often I try. Hope it is something I have overlooked.
I can not eat soy and have asked for Quorn as an alternative. The menu selection would not create a menu for me with out my selecting a soy product for protein as Quorn is not offered I selected tempeh just to get the program software to give me a menu, thinking I could select other items when it placed tempeh on the days menu.August 29, 2015 at 12:26 am #31183Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Yumdom. Tech support tried to contact you, but their emails have been returning with the message that your address is invalid (?). We need to have that corrected before someone can help you with the technical issue you mentioned.
I will do my best to help you with the rest of your questions here. Vegetables are a special group – you don’t select specific non-starchy ones, rather they generally show up in your menu planner only as “Vegetable of Your Choice,” and you make that choice when you prep the meal. As for free foods, none of them specifically show up in your menu because they don’t need to be calculated.
Quorn products are indeed in the Menu Planner lists in the Protein category under “Vegan Substitutes” – note, however, that they are not actually vegan, as they do contain eggs.
I have analyzed your menu, and I have a couple of notes.
With regard to protein, I would suggest to have more chia and flax seed in place of some of the nuts – this will increase protein and give you additional omega-3 fatty acids, which are somewhat low in your menus. Also, I would encourage you to be sure your nutritional yeast is fortified with vitamin B12 and to have at least 2 tablespoons each day if you don’t have other B12-fortified foods. - AuthorPosts
