I have a very bad back and cannot exercise like most people can. While searching the net, i found a series of chair exercises DVDS.i have to tell you, the one i bought kicks my butt. I purchased the senior video. i think it was $20. I also do floor exercises that my physical therapist gave me. i alternate days, and some days i walk the mall-2 miles. between the tdc and exercising i have lost 3 inches on my hips and waist. YOu will be successful if you stay positive and keep your goal in mind. creating a vision board is also a great way to stay focused.

I have to admit that i do not eat everything on the menu, either. It could be because i don’t have that food or i couldn’t find an exchange that i like. So what i do is improvise buy eating something similar. Like Olive Oil, i will use Olive Oil Mayo. I don’t know if this is okay or not. With that in mind, i do want to encourage you to try different ways of eating food. I had a breakfast that listed oatmeal, ricotta cheese and blueberries. I pondered for a while and then said, what the heck, i cooked the oatmeal then added the ricotta cheese and blueberries. to my surprise, it was delicious. Make sure you measure and weigh your food. try adding the olive oil. you might be surprised. Let me know how you make out. also, for a definite answer to the olive oil ask the professionals that wrote this awesome program.

Hi, Dstedman62. All great points – thanks!
Hi, to you too, Djimena. Fish oil in any form is fine, but if you get a supplement, make sure it is from a reputable source.

Hi im new to the program too. However I’ve been eating healthy and doing exercises (I did Karate); unfortunately I was diagnosed with Thyroid disease and as such regained all the weight I had lost and more besides because I couldn’t exercise. I find that combining some of the foods make for a more appetizing meal as oppose to eating them separate. Especially the snacks. I find that some brand of Greek yogurt is not so good by themselves so putting the fruit or nuts make it more palatable. Also in regards to water exercise I had a chance to do some as an alternative to Karate when I was really low and it helped.
There are some equipment you can buy (don’t remember the names off hand), however, there’s a pair of ankle weights, some barbells made of a foam like material, and resistance gloves. You don’t have to do anything strenuous just walk across the pool with or without the ankle weights, or jog,the water works as the resistance you need but it helps to minimize the impact on your limbs.
You can basically do what you would walking or jogging but in water, do your stretches, pool laps and arm lifts but do those under the water as you get a better workout. Choose the ones you want to do and just do reps! Hope this helps! It sure did for me and gave me back some control.
