    Hi Sharon,
I made a fresh chicken curry with tinned chopped tomatoes, onions, garlic ginger and spices. So there is a sauce with the chicken. I have noticed that when I weigh out the portions…there is less chicken in it than if I weighed out for example a piece of roast chicken alone. My question is what size portion should the chicken curry be when it states for example 100 grams of chicken?…because it definitely does not have 100 grams in it? Could you kindly clear this up for me?

Hi, TillyDhonota. Can you prepare the recipe in a way that ensures you get the full 100 grams of chicken? For example, if you make the recipe for 2 or 4, simply add 200-400 grams of chicken while you’re cooking. If that doesn’t help, perhaps you can list the recipe here, and I will try to better clarify.

Hi Sharon. Thought I did not have it quite right.? I try & make it in bulk & divide portions & freeze it. So e.g. using 475grams approx 3 chicken breasts uncooked would use 1.5 tins chopped tomatoes, about 2 teaspoons oil & 1.5 medium onions. Garlic & ginger spices & salt r free aren’t they. With thanks Sharon. ?

Hi, Tilly. Thanks for the recipe. Yes, spices are indeed “free.” If you look at the amounts of key foods, note that 1/5-1/4 of the recipe will provide the 100 grams of chicken you are seeking. It will also provide you with 1/2 serving of vegetables.

Thank you for your help with this. Last question i have always taken measurements to be cooked weight when it comes to the protein. Was that wrong? ?

Hi, Tilly. It is the raw weight, but if you use lean meats, it doesn’t really matter.

    Thank you for confirming Sharon.
